The cottage was beautiful, the scenery was spectacular and the food was delicious. We met interesting people and the staff was outstanding. We will definitely return to this treasure in the Drakensberg Mountains.

The Montusi Mountain Lodge was the perfect finish to our 3 week vacation in SA. The bungalows are beautiful set with stunning views of the mountains. All the staff was outstandingly helpful and all our wishes were fulfilled within minutes. One can just stay and do nothing or enjoy some of the fantastic hikes around the lodge. The full moon...

Dear Joerg, Thanks so much for your lovely review of Montusi. We are so happy to read that you enjoyed your time with us. The Full Moon adventure was the first one we have done in some time and we will now be taking these excursions to the dam for our delicious Amarula Coffees every full moon (if the weather...

We stayed five nights at Montussi lodge in both a mountain suite and. Garden suite. Bother had views of the mountains although the mountain suite had a better overall view. Suites were nice although it would have been good to have a safe in the garden suite. The location is stunning and the food is really good. Staff are really...

Dear Sheila, Thanks for your lovely review of your time at Montusi. I'm so happy to read that you enjoyed both the units. I'm sorry that the location of the safe in the Garden Suite was not shared with you - usually we tell people about that on their arrival, but because you changed suite types, this info was omitted....

Visiting Montusi Mountain Lodge as part of a 5 stop tour of KwaZulu-Natal we found the location, the accommodation, the food, & the service to be second to none ... so much so that when planning our next holiday in SA it was a pre-requisite that we returned to Montusi .. but for a bit longer next time!!

When second and third generation family live and work on their own land and property and where sustained personal and financial investment is evident, something special emerges. You will enjoy all the benefits of the owners many years of hard work and attention to detail if you are a guest and decide to stay at this outstanding Mountain Lodge. The...

Dear Mr Monro, Thank you so so much for this lovely review! It was an absolute pleasure to host you all and your input about our wine list was really good to hear, especially since we had just launched the new list after a loooong process of choosing, advising and tweaking. Thank you for enjoying this place. We do love...

Montusi is a fine establishment surrounded by attractive mountains, including the Drakensberg Amphitheatre which is about 25 kms away. There are lots of activities to do there, but unfortunately, we were there for only two days. The lodge is not cheap, but neither is it outrageously expensive given that both breakfast and dinner of high quality are included in the...

Montusi Mountain Lodge is an immaculately maintained family owned lodge located in the Northern Berg. My family and I stayed there during the first week of January 2017 and were highly impressed by the Lodges offering. We stayed in Family Suite 16, which was spacious and spotlessly clean. The thatched unit comprised of two rooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, and...

As soon as you pass through the Montusi gates you feel peaceful. Montusi is big but feels as if you are on your own. Sitting on your private deck you see the Drakensberg mountains in all their glory. You don't see your neighbors or many people walking by. The pool isn't crowded neither are the common areas. Dining was wonderful,...

We recommend this lodge. Spectacular views, silence, close to nature, a lot to do, great accommodation. Ask for cottage no. 6 if you prefer self catering. Very spacious, no obstructed views of the Drakensberg.
