A lovely spot. Well located in a private reserve - quiet and secluded. It feels like you're alone with the game. We went out on a game drive with the super helpful David and we had the most amazing close encounter with a herd of elephants. There are also lots of zebra and warthogs and apparently the odd lion and... More

This was another wonderful and memorable 3 night stay. From the moment we arrived till we left, we experienced great hospitality, friendliness and service par excellence. Our luxury suites were perfect , the meals served and prepared by Lollo and his team excellent and the game drives lots of fun, from the bumpy rides to watching loads of elephants around... More

Highly recommended. The lodge is actually within a private concession, so involves some dirt road driving, but this isn't a problem. The lodges are all to a very high standard, lots of room and everything you could want. There is a separate central dining area, lounge, day room and library. Staff are all super friendly and the guides (would be... More

We stayed here for two nights during a two week trip. I would say the safari guide and tours were perfect, we laarned lots and the guide obviously loves his job. We went out three times and saw lots of animals. The elephants are incredible. However the accommodation although rated 5* was not what we expected. Numerous points to list... More

A wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings. Our room was elegant and comfortable and our meals were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the game drives under the excellent care of Darlington and would return again if ever possible.

Flawless stay at RB. From a pleasant welcome to awesome animal sightings. Steve our superb guide and Steve the elephant provided an amazing few days at a really clean and classy lodge. Luyanda and Spha were attentive and thorough. The wines and food were amazing, only second to the fantastic game drives. Steve was knowledgeable and had a good sense... More

A very pleasurable stay with great service, great elephant sightings and close encounters with the elephant. Maybe not enough of other species and would like to see more cats. Unfortunately we did not see any rhino either.

Addo is a sublime park, situated about an hours' drive from Port Elisabeth. We've been there plenty of times now, but every time again, the park lives up to and exceeds our expectations. I won't elaborate too much on the rhinos we saw (the enemy is reading TripAdvisor too) but let's say that we had spectacular encounters with 4 out... More

We stayed two nights there. The Service and the friendlyness is Really Great. The Game drives were also fantastic. Only negative point is the a bit old bathroom and the cleaniness of some textiles (tablecloth etc.), what i expect to be clean for such a high Standard that the Price Suggests. Food was also brilliant meanwhile the breakfast was a... More

River Bend Lodge is not big - the lodge that is. Just a few rooms, very, very chic. But, the park in which it sits is full of the most wonderful South African wildlife you can find. Staying in the lodge is a treat in itself, with beautiful accommodation and world class cuisine, but when you venture out onto the... More
