Spent a beautiful fall weekend in Wildwood Crest. We normally (during summer months) stay in one of the oceanfront motels, however, since the beach was not going to be the big draw for Fall, we decided to try the Imperial, a motel we've passed by so many times and always looked very nice. So pleasantly surprised, very pleasant front desk staff, had a very nice double queen motel room on the 4th floor with an actually very nice view of the beach. Room was large, beds very comfortable, large clean bathroom, room was spotless and smelled fresh. No amenities in the bathroom, but I think that's fairly standard for most Wildwood motels. The great weather enhanced our trip; hotel was quiet this time of year; room was cleaned both days we were there. Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!…
Sorry Imperial 500, it's time to say bye bye. We just returned from 4 days in Wildwood and stayed at the Imp 500. We've stayed here in the past and aren't the biggest fans but it's clean and there weren't many options left due to booking only a few weeks before our trip. First the good.. It's clean and has been every time we've been there. They have grills for cooking and a pool (like every other motel in WW). There's an arcade and pool tables. The not so good.. You don't get any amenities like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, free coffee (not in the room or in the office no matter the time of day), beach chairs, bicycles,,,,. Also, the bath towels were hard and many had stains. You're required to leave a $10 cash-only deposit for the room keys. You get soap that's almost comical. It's a mini round bar that's the size of a large quarter. You'll be lucky if you get 1 shower out of it. The blow dryer does nothing if your hair is more than a few inches long. The motel is not on the block closest to the beach like a lot of other lodging, they're on the 2nd block off the beach. The ugly.. They have an employee that walks around ALL day loudly whistling, including right outside of your room. Not a tune or anything, just random annoying whistling. I immediately went and told the front desk. They laughed and knew who I was talking about. They're aware of his annoying whistling and have had others complain. They said they've asked him to stop but he doesn't listen. They told me to ask him to stop when I see him. Ahhh, what?? You're kidding right? I'm paying you to stay here for our vacation. This is your business/motel. Why would you even think that's for my family or me to handle or get involved with. If you can't control an employee, something is wrong! Another item I had to go to the desk for is the loud clanging and banging in the walls when you run the water in the bathroom. It never goes away no matter how long you let it run. The desk said they're aware and there's nothing they can do about it. They recommended letting the water run for a few minutes to see if it goes away. I tried that and it didn't. So every time someone is sleeping or resting and you use the sink, shower, etc,, the loud banging in the walls will definitely wake them up. Even if no one is sleeping, it's an unnecessary noise when you're trying to relax at your beach hotel. They need to address that and find a fix, it's not okay. Also, it's cash only or you have to pay extra each night if you use a credit card. I don't mind the cash only but I didn't see that in big bold letters on their website like it should be. They also did not tell me this when I called the day before checking-in to see what if anything we should know and need to bring with us. Otherwise I would have been prepared to pay with cash. While we were there, a few people also staying there were cigar smokers. They frequently sat in the courtyard directly in front of the rooms smoking. As soon as you open your room door, that's all you smelled, stinky cigars. The tv remote didn't work. When I tried to open the back to check the batteries, it was all rotted with corrosion all over and 1 battery melting apart. The corrosion made a mess and got all over. They ended up getting us a different remote. If you're looking for any type of peace and quiet, relaxation, or room amenities, this is NOT the place. Too many kids, banging plumbing pipes in the room, whistling employees and large families being loud at all times of the day/night. We'll be staying elsewhere from now on.…
We have been coming to the Imperial 500 for 22+ years. The place is clean, owners friendly, staff is good. The view from the rooms are good. If you have a problem they fix it right away. Highly recommend the Imperial 500 Motel.
Nicest and friendliest owners ever who go out of their way to please their guests! Super clean rooms with a quiet location in the Crest. Love the expanded area ...away from the pool with the grills, shuffle board and corn hole games. Plenty of chairs and lounge chairs too. Also... smoking is allowed in this designated area where my hubby can smoke a couple of cigars! Always a great time and we will continue to come every year! :)
Clean, fresh, great location with unobstructed view of the beach. This is a family run motel by the same family for several generations. The accomodations are simple, and in impeccable condition. Just go!
Our family has been coming to Imperial 500 for over 20 years. We always enjoy our time spent there. Jimmy & Jackie are always smiling and happy to see their guests. The staff keeps the rooms clean and are accommodating when supplies are needed. We look forward to visiting and making the best memories every year.
I had some vacation available and decided to take a few days just to get away. My room and the weather were perfect. It was a great time at a great motel. Jimmy and Jackie are always a pleasure to work with.
I have been coming to The Imperial 500 with my extended family for at least 8 years now and each visit is better than the last. Jackie and Jimmy (the proprietors) are always very friendly and accommodating to all their guests. We'll definitely keep coming back as long as The Imperial 500 is around! Thank you for a great time!!
Great Motel. We have been going there for over 20 years summer/fall. Clean, reasonable price, conviently located. The owners are really nice/friendly. The view is perfect. You can see the beach & see the events in the park across the street from Motel.
We vacationed at The Imperial 500 from June 25, to July 2, 2021 and had the BEST TIME. The Imperial's owners and staff are always very personable and friendly. The Motel units are CLEAN and NICE. The price is always right! The pool is salt water and so nice. Across the street Concerts every Wednesday night on the Green. The Imperial 500 is like staying with Family (without all the drama). We loved it so much we returned September 27-28th. This is the best place in Wildwood Crest thanks to the owners and staff. Thank You!
