Detailed Reviews

So let me preface this review by saying that I’ve been going to Wildwood for 40 years. I love it. However, it is certainly an acquired taste. Lots of things are ripoffs and the hotels are lousy and overpriced. If you’ve never stayed here before you might be aghast at what they charge $300 a night for during the summer.
All of this to say that this rating is by Wildwood standards...not normal hotel standards.
The Imperial 500 is super clean by Wildwood standards. The room seems to be newly renovated. I appreciate the faux wooden floors. Shore carpet is almost always gross and moldy so the faux wood floors were a good call.
The beds were clean. They were thin and hard as a rock, no give whatsoever. However, I’ll take this over some of the worn out, floppy-edged beds all too common in the Wildwoods.
The bathroom was somewhat renovated, though personally the swimsuit hanging line in the bathtub isn’t my favorite. The towel holder was rusty (see Picture) which is kinda gross considering it touches your bath towels. Also, as per every hotel in wildwood, the towels are super thin and scratchy. I don’t believe you can get a thick, fluffy bath towel in all of Wildwood though.
The hotel is one block off the beach and nearby a park and the Wildwood Crest Library. If you don’t mind walking a bit, you can definitely walk to the boardwalk.
The pool was in good shape and heated, which was a nice feature to have in September. There’s also a well maintained arcade w a few games and an air hockey machine.
The price for mid September was only about $75 a night. This was one of the best prices I could find for that weekend (9/18-9/20).
I would definitely come back here. By wildwood standards this is a great deal for the price. Everyone I dealt with at the hotel was friendly and helpful.
When picking a Wildwood hotel I generally am thrilled if the hotel isn’t skeevy and not too ridiculously overpriced. The Imperial 500 passes the test.

My family and I have been coming here the past few years, and Imperial 500 never lets us down. The property is kept meticulously. The amenities there from the pool, the arcade, pool tables, corn hole boards, shuffle board pad, washers and dryers, and multiple NEW ice machines are a huge plus. The owners Jackie and Jimmy are accommodating, friendly and take great care of there property. Its a short walk to the beach and conveniently located a short drive (or decent walk) from the boardwalk, Cape May and nearby restaurants. Recently they have started updating the rooms which has made the stay even nicer. They provide an affordable family vacation and unlike many other cinderblock dumps in WW, they make it a pleasure to stay there. We look forward to coming back in the future, and for many years to come.

My family and I love the Imperial 500. It is always kept very clean and it’s close to the beach. The maid service always make sure are rooms have clean towels and garbage is taken out. Love the deck area where you can take a nice suntan. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Just returned from a wknd trip with my family. The motel is very well maintained and clean. The staff was welcoming and pleasant. One thing we noticed there was no "seashore odor" in our room, just smelled fresh and clean . Anything extra we requested was delivered to our room within minutes. They even replaced the full size older refrigerator, with a brand new one (within 15 mins, I must add), when I had called to say the loud motor kept me up all night! We thought that was above and beyond. Thank you! Housekeeping staff were also helpful /friendly. We're already making plans to stay there in 2024. Nothing really negative, but the review recommends sprinkling in a few tips/rec's:
Pullout couch/bed mattress very thin, too low to floor. Slides frequently.
Noisy ac window unit.
Loud music around pool at 9 a.m too early.
No wall lamp or convenient lighting for reading near pullout bed. All not deal breakers, would still make a return visit.

Nicest and friendliest owners ever who go out of their way to please their guests! Super clean rooms with a quiet location in the Crest. Love the expanded area ...away from the pool with the grills, shuffle board and corn hole games. Plenty of chairs and lounge chairs too. Also... smoking is allowed in this designated area where my hubby can smoke a couple of cigars! Always a great time and we will continue to come every year! :)

My husband’s family been coming to Imperial for 37 years. I’ve come for the last 15. The owners simply can’t do enough to improve your stay. Anything you need or ask for is handled within minutes! Even when I apologize for bothering yet again, they shut me down and let me know it is their pleasure. Our family did tour other hotels to see if any compared and there simply aren’t any that are as clean or as open air so that you can gather outside with your loved ones. This year we had 50+ people come and my parents joined the tradition this year. My father is very fussy about cleanliness and he didn’t have a bad word to say. He mentioned that he would much rather come here than drive to Myrtle Beach, which was the only acceptable option for him for as long as I can remember. Prices are affordable and so family friendly!! So thankful for this hidden gem that I would have never found without my husband and his family. Our twins have been raised here for a week each summer. We have visited Rehoboth and stayed in a hotel on the boards with a pool overlooking the boardwalk. It is honestly disgusting and overpriced. My twins didn’t enjoy themselves either because we were trapped in a room instead of outside enjoying the atmosphere. Imperial is the best! We love it.

We have been staying at the Imperial 500 for years and it never disappoints. It is by far the cleanest and most well maintained hotel that my family and I have ever stayed in. The pool and other amenities are always top notch and you can’t beat the location, right across the street from a park and beach access. They are constantly upgrading the rooms so it is a nice surprise each year we come back.

This is an incredible place. It is immaculate and the Mgmt/Staff are super helpful & friendly - as are the guests. They are located in a prime location across from a beautiful park that holds concerts and it is a short walk to the beach. We have been going to Wildwood Crest for 40 years and once we found Imperial 30 years ago.......we found our home for all future vacations. Great pool and people that visit us are always envious vs. their hotels. In a word - Outstanding.

not far at all its at the . the hotel is at the beginning of the boardwalk so you can walk for about 10 minutes and you are there
8 and there are no out of the ordinary rules but the staff an guests like myself have no problem addressing any of the problems that would upset a perfect hotel
