My parents and I took a weekday get away. Room was clean, view was great, and food was good too. The staff we meant on the property were all pleasant but a specail shout out to the front desk Andrea for her professionalism and skill level that really enhance our trip experience. Her pleasant tone, confidence, competent level, and follow up helped us stay additional night and also made the change over so easy. Not many employees these days will go the extra mile. We will definitely plan on staying here again.
This is a great property. This is our second time staying at the Port Royale. The hotel has a nice balany and has a nice atmosphere. The restaurant on property is nice, we really enjoyed having breakfast there. Ther was plenty of outdoor seating and there were a lot of places to check out within walking distance. Some minor conerns were a few cleaning issues, even with some cleaning flaws they are much cleaner than other places in the Crest, and the restaurant and pool closing early.
Immaculate well maintained family home away from home. Staff was six strar caliper. No where better to stay Location perfect. You will meet friendly families comings here for many years. Staff that you catch up with year after year. Walk to everything. Great pool stunning view from every room
While visiting Wildwood Crest last evening, my wife and I stopped by the hotels restaurant. Great choice. We were greeted by Debbie, the hostess and owner of the restaurant and at our request, we were seated at an outside table. The view of the beach and ocean is beautiful. Our sweet waitress came by with the menus and specials for the evening and soon we were on our way to "two" wonderful meals. I enjoy crab cakes and mine was excellent. My wife enjoyed veal parm. Both were served with nice size salads. This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we both agreed that we will be back again.
Pros: Perfect location next to beach and public park, stunning pool area, quiet and comfortable guest rooms, attention to detail. Cons: Hard to find something more expensive on the island, luxury in Wildwood = basic/moderate elsewhere, pool area lacks a hot tub. With possibly a few strange exceptions, the Port Royal is the priciest place to stay in the Wildwoods (it's definitely a "hotel" compared to the island's many "motels"). Fortunately it is an example of getting what you pay for and there are no mysteries to be expected- the rooms are clean and maintained well, the grounds are impeccable, and the staff treats guests as is to be expected of a luxury resort. To say this is a truly luxurious property would be stretching the truth- the rooms are on par with those in Marriott Courtyards and Hampton Inns, meaning they're nice but nothing incredibly special (although the seashore decor is charming). Yet if you're someone who's had a bad experience at one of the island's lesser lodging options, you'll agree that consistency can indeed be classified as a luxury. And when it comes to this hotel, you'll definitely feel as if you've stepped up from most others. There are two elevators so there's little waiting to get to the top floors; meanwhile on the bottom floors are a friendly and accommodating front desk staff, terrific beachfront restaurant (Royal Grill Cafe), and a pool area with endless rows of lounge chairs and seating under cabanas (although no hot tub). The location couldn't be more perfect- far enough from the chaos of Wildwood while still being a short walk to the boardwalk. The beach is mere steps in one direction and a public park with playground and concert stage is a few steps in the other. With both surface and underground lots, parking is never a problem, even in the later hours when most Wildwood motels run short of spaces. If you want to stay without paying a lot, the Port Royal offers decent rates before and after the busy summer months but even if you end up paying top dollar, no doubt you'll be pleased with the experience. There's a lot to be said about the luxury of perfecting the important details.…
