I’ve been to this motel several times over the years and I have to say it always has me coming back for more. It’s in a great location. Not too close to the boardwalk but close enough to enjoy the fun. You’re right at the beginning of the crest boardwalk sign so great pictures. The upkeep of this place is impeccable, every morning we watched as the staff tended to the outside maintenance quietly as guest slept in. The grill is a plus when you get tired of having boardwalk food or you can select a kitchenette as we did that was well stocked with all of our needs. We asked to see other rooms for future stays and the staff happily obliged we will be returning.

This Historic Landmark Motel is so cool! The huge wrap-around ramp provides easy access to the upper level.
During the 4th of July week there are additional events. Close to the Boardwalk and beach, too.
We booked for 2022, 2 weeks.

The only place we stay in Wildwood. Been coming for years. Charming, retro motel close to the south end of the boardwalk. Love the 60s music & relaxing vibe. Room 101 is very good with a comfortable king bed & easy access to the pool.
Only complaint is that the pillows were terrible. Hospital style plastic pillows which were very uncomfortable. For the price we deserve regular pillows. Moved to room 109 for last night (booked at last minute & 101 wasn’t available). Hard bed & same bad pillows.
Yes it needs a little TLC. Some exterior lights need repair.
Smokers haven. Smoking allowed outside most rooms.
Overall a wonderful motel. Just bring your own pillows.

First off, I never got to this place. With that being said...a room was booked for me by my friend and the charge was put on their CC as a very generous gift to me. One hour before leaving my home I called to make sure my room was secured for me. The person on the phone told me that he does not take reservations from one person for another. They charged my friend's CC for the deposit then charged the other half the morning of the date I was to arrive. When my friend spoke to the woman at the hotel at the time of the booking she was told that there would be no problem with the reservation. Well, they LIED!!
I have been going to WW for many years and have NEVER had to deal with this. Not only was the person on the phone rude and condescending but he in turn said, and I quote, "Don't come here! I don't want you here!" Don't worry Mr. Rude, I will never go to your hotel.

I started visiting the Caribbean Motel in 2014 and returned at least three other times. It was owned by a couple who showed pride in the motel and checked in with the guests to ensure they were having a good time. They even hosted free bbqs and drinks during our stays. Unfortunately it has been sold and the place is run down. Many of the colorful beautful lights that made the hotel look beautiful at night are out, the green carpeting around the walking areas have holes, and the bannisters are rusted.

In the room, they have not been kept up. The drapes have holes and are stained, the bed spreads are musty and do not match with the theme of the room and the carpeting is brown and black with green walls, yellow furniture with blue chairs. The bathroom tub had mold all around.

Such a dissapointment. I think the worst thing was the pillows on the bed. They are wrapped in plastic, are so uncomfortable and make crunching noises when you move your head.

In the past there was always someone with a ladder working on things around the hotel. Hopefully the new owners have a plan to shape up the place and, at the very least, make sure all of the colorful lights have bulbs.

Two good things are that they still have shuffleboard and doo wop music playing outside and in your room if you want it.

Even though it was pricey to stay only one night, I thought it would be worth it because it was advertised as a "Historic Hotels of America" motel that I knew had to meet specific standards and reputation to qualify for the program. These hotels are historical but the facilities are kept up to date. It turned out both the motel and Historic Hotels of America websites were not updated for years. The motel did not have most amenities advertised. It was not "lovingly restored" or "meticulously restored with modern amenities." No chef, no restaurant, no entertainment, no lounge/bar, no pool towels. I did not get the room I requested with oceanview but the total opposite less private first-floor pool view. The room was dark and dingy with stained rugs throughout. Loud window type a/c. The shower drained slowly. They were still using old bedspreads no longer used in the hotel industry. It may have been a nice motel at one time according to some very old reviews. But that's not the case any longer. I was very disappointed to have been deceived by the ads and having to pay so much for a very low-budget motel. Please update the websites right away.

In 2012, my husband and I got married at the Caribbean Hotel. Today, in 2023, my 3 girlfriends and I stopped while in the area. There was no music playing like all past visits. I immediately went into the office after parking. No Margie working the desk. I had to say "hello" a couple of times before anyone greeted me unlike past visits. I shared that I had gotten married there and asked if it would be ok to walk around the exterior for 5 minutes to take a few photos for my husband at home. The proprietress and perhaps her son began discussing it behind the counter, asked me to wait, and called a 3rd party on the phone. Then, I was told that I couldn't walk around the exterior because I wasn't a registered guest. When my friend tried to snap a picture of me as we got in the car, the proprietor came out and asked us to leave. It was an incredibly disappointing, unwelcoming, and inhospitable experience in such a personally beloved, beautiful, and historic space. Sadly, I will not stay there ever again. The warm, welcoming vibe is over.

Convinient location and nice rooms close to the beach. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and slightly larger. Beds comfortable. The pool us great and so is the music being played. Parking spot is a little tight. There is a ramp to bring luggage to the second floor. Not too far from boardwalk.

I showed up for my reservation that my mother had booked in advance for my friend and I (we are both adults) and they turned me away because she was not there with me. She had asked ahead of time if what we were doing was okay and I guess they did not understand because they told her it was fine. I explained the situation and that I was alone until my friend arrived which would not be for another few hours. They refused to take me and made me leave and then began to fight with me and be rude when I explained that they were putting me in danger.

I am usually pretty picky when selecting a hotel for a family vacation. All I ask/look for is that the room and grounds be clean. As a family, we were very fortunate to find the Caribbean Motel. We actually had to stay in 3 different rooms during our 1 week stay because we decided to stay a little longer, but it wasn't a problem -- the management was very accommodating. They are updating some of the appliances in the rooms -- such as newer fridges and coffee pots, and flat-screen TV's. There has been a lot written about the '50's do-wop theme so I won't delve into that, but I will say it was definitely something different for the kids to experience. They especially liked the decor of the room, with its faux leopard seat covers and tropical colors. Personally, I liked the radio speaker in the ceiling which played the same music that the motel played outside. This was controlled by a switch on a wall. If you're a stickler for clean rooms, you shouldn't have to worry here -- the rooms were cleaned everyday; bathroom was clean; no stray bugs and no cobwebs; heck, even the ice cube trays in the fridge were spotless. We liked the lawn/lounge chairs that were parked right outside just about every room, so you could sit out there in the AM and have coffee (provided free by the motel), or sip on a cold one during the evening. The pool was cleaned every morning, and was warm enough to not give you heart palpitations when jumping in. It was reeeaaaalllly warm on the last day we were there. The faux palm trees added a nice touch. At night, the multicolored lights around the upper balcony adds to the ambience. They also have an old fashioned shuffleboard which we all enjoyed playing. It seems they have plenty of parking, though the spaces may seem tight to some larger vehicles. On Wed., they have free hot dogs and lemonade -- a nice reminder of days of old. Ice is $0.25 bucket, which I didn't mind because the machine was always full. Plus, it curtails people from wasting it. They have a little cabana lounge that has a big screen TV amd DVD player for your use, but they don't serve anything there. There is no elevator at the hotel, but an old fashioned curved ramp that leads up to the cabana room and balcony. We had an awkward situation because we walked into a family gathering who were watching home movies. The motel might want to consider having people reserve this instead of having it open to anyone. Daily, there is a fruit guy that shows up with a truck and rings a little triangular bell to let you know he's there. The fruit's a little expensive though, but it beats having to drive to find some fresh fruit. The motel is close to the very end of the boardwalk, so you're not right in the hubbub of all the tourist activities. While, the motel is 1/2 block from the beach, the water's edge is a pretty good hike, but the benefit is that the beach is not crowded. Seaweed does wash up on the shore from time to time and if left there, can give you a reminder of exactly what the beach smells like. It does appear, however that they clean the beach every day. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!
