We came down for Roar to the Shore, with our 12 year old children and friendly, but ornery, lab. The room was very clean, including the bathroom and the staff was super friendly! Location is so close to the heart of the Boardwalk! Most important, was how understanding they were when our pup had a tough time being left alone for a bit. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be booking with them again, next year!
I found this hotel advertised in my local newspaper for a great Sun-Fri price. I stayed solo, choosing the third floor for the view. It is dog friendly, if that’s your style, and has an “annex” building across the street with a extra rooms. Owner Mark emailed me immediately after my email inquiry and was courteous and nice on the phone when I called to book. He even jotted down that I was checking in on my birthday and remembered when I did actually check in! He resides on the property and is available a lot. Check in and out were only minutes long. Parking is good - they efficiently used all the spots they could. Pool was spotless - early morning care every day (another motel pool down the street was super cloudy) and also had two grills that guests could use to cook on. Room- beds were truly horrible. Back killed me everyday and my guest only stayed for a night because he couldn’t handle it a second night. Pretty firm mattresses with a number of mattress pads, but the mattresses definitely are lopsided and have a “lean” to them. Bathroom is fine with basic toiletries provided daily, along with a stack of towels and new garbage bags. (I only got my room serviced once, so they left the stack outside on the provided plastic chairs.) Towels could definitely use an upgrade at some point to, but definitely not before the beds. Room came with a mini fridge, low wattage microwave, coffee maker and mugs, and a toaster - perfect amount of space and stuff for one person. This motel is beach block from Gateway 26 arcade on the boardwalk. Definitely would recommend the place as a budget-friendly motel in a prime location, but I would think twice about staying 5 nights again due to the bed. Three stars now, but would be four if mattresses improved.…
We had a wonderful stay! My husband, daughter, and our two dogs were a little crowded in our room but it had everything we needed! So close to the boardwalk and convenient. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. My only suggestion would be to change the carpet for hard flooring because carpet and the beach don’t go well together. Staff was very friendly. We spent some time in the pool, which was very nice. We hope to visit again soon.
I absolutely love this place. Great staff. The owners are simply amazing and always willing to accommodate you. I can’t say enough good things about island breeze. Pet friendly without the pet fee. Outdoor grills and right at boardwalk and dog beach.
Great price for a hotel that is so close to the boardwalk! They are pet friendly, have a pool, and a nice balcony to sit and enjoy. The room had a small kitchenette with microwave, toaster, coffee pot, and large fridge. No dishes included. We were in the annex across the street so the WiFi didn’t work at all which I was very unhappy about. The steps were also a little bit shady (whole building felt like it was shaking when using them) and the dog had a hard time getting up and down. Maybe mention if you’d like a lower level if you have the choice and your pup isn’t great with stairs! Also note, the closest entrance to the boardwalk isn’t not pet friendly, you’ll have to walk a few blocks down to enter with your pup!
