We return to 600 Main B&B every summer for a family gathering, bringing in folks from all over. We book the whole B&B and everyone just loves it, the delightful rooms, the completely fantastic breakfast, and such friendly innkeepers. See you again next summer!

As soon as I walked into the house, I fell in love with it immediately. Everything is antique and beautiful. The hostess Vicki is so amazing and she made us feel like families. The beds were so comfortable and breakfasts were gourmet served with English tea in their Victorian style tea room. 5+ star for sure!

This turn-of-the-20th century themed bed & breakfast is amazing. We were warmly welcomed and offered freshly baked cookies. While all the "modern" conveniences are available (internet, ice, blow dryer, etc), everything else takes you way, way back in time. Antiques abound. The overall ambiance is extremely warm (literally - the fireplaces are on). The fresh breakfasts were so beyond my expectations (one day included scones with clotted cream, a delightful yogurt/fruit/granola cup, fresh melon with an omelet and toast; another day was spinach quiche along with fresh pastries, a fruit medley and yogurt). We loved the quiet - no clanging elevators, no noisy guests). Fresh cookies at night. Lovely teas to choose from. Our room was clean and perfect (comfy bed, comfy pillows). We will be back!!!!

My husband and I needed a place for a short stay near Seaside Park, but wanted to avoid the typical beach motels prevalent in the area. I couldn't believe our luck when we found the 600 Main Bed & Breakfast and Victorian Tea Room! Located in Toms River, 600 Main was only about 8 miles from the beach where we were to meet up with other out-of-state family members during the day. 600 Main is a beautifully maintained and decorated Victorian house. Very welcoming, airy and immaculate. It features plenty of Victorian character, details and charm, but without the excess that, in my opinion, can make Victorian decor feel cluttered and cloying. For example, I appreciated the clean, fresh feel of its bare wood floors -- a welcome alternative to layers of fusty old rugs and heavy drapery. Welcoming, also, is Vicki, the innkeeper and chef. She radiates joy in her work, as evidenced by her warm, welcoming personality and the obvious care taken in every aspect of comfort, cleanliness and presentation. If you're used to a gigantic King sized bed and a spacious, modern bathroom, this may not be your cup of tea. But if you're choosing to stay in a Victorian B&B in the first place, you'll appreciate the cozy charm of a room like the Genevieve (where we stayed), with its high comfy bed and where everything worked to modern expectations (air conditioning, shower, electrical outlets). Many thoughtful touches included ... Wine, ice water, iced tea, and biscotti available in the common entry area. Community mini-refrigerator for guests on our floor, stocked with bottled water. Delicious breakfasts in an elegant dining room. Towels and day passes to Ortley Beach, if we had wanted them. I highly recommend 600 Main B&B and will be looking for an excuse to return!

This was my first stay at 600 Main. I had been there for tea twice before and loved the decor and beauty of the downstairs area. We were offered a tour of the upstairs rooms while there for tea. I was very impressed with how clean and beautifully appointed the rooms were, so I decided to stay here for my July trip and I was not disappointed! The innkeeper, Vicki, is the “icing on the cake” of this lovely B&B! She makes sure you are happy and have what you need to have a wonderful stay, including delicious HOT breakfasts with homemade scones and clotted cream to tea throughout the day, and wine and cheese in the evening. Her attention to detail is obvious throughout the inn and she makes you feel so welcome. There are several places inside and out where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the inn. I have already raved about my stay here to friends and family and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It’s just a short walk to the downtown area where you’ll find several good restaurants and a lovely park. 600 Main gets 5-stars in my book!
