The bed and view of the ocean were wonderful. Stayed in Room #4. But, the photos attached show what is not acceptable when paying over $300 per night. Small fixes are easy. When not fixed they take the experience way down. No screens in windows when opened for some fresh air. Happy no bugs came in.
This is a great location directly across from the beach. Stay comes with chairs, towels, and umbrellas along with beach passes. This is very nice. Amelia‘s restaurant is also very nice for lunch and dinner. No place to sit other than your room and the side lawn.
A lot of rooms, but only parking for 4. If you’re a late sleeper, you won’t enjoy the early morning vacuuming in the halls. No refrigerators or safes in rooms.
I was told new owners will be updating and renovating. I hope so, so I can come back again next year.
The staff was very kind and accommodating.

My wife and I spent one night (anniversary) at the Grand Victorian. The location at Spring Lake is beautiful, just across the street from the ocean and the town shops are just a few blocks away. The room is compact but had a nice bathroom/shower and the bed was very comfortable. However, at 11:45 PM I was wakened by the very loud group (music and talking over each other conversation) in the room next to ours. They were so loud that they didn’t hear me when I loudly knocked. Someone said “What was that?” when I increased the knocking and on the fourth try someone in the room said “I think we’re making too much noise!”. He opened the door, apologized and then the decibels went down but that was pretty much it for me as far as sleep went. They do have signs in the hall noting that after 10 PM it’s time for quiet but that did not happen. So, nice room but you’re taking a chance as far as sound and a quiet stay goes.

Clean hotel with a very nice staff and an excellent location.
The staff had a golf cart ready to help with bags and accommodated our late check in. Every person we encountered couldn't be nicer. They have beach badges and chairs for you. They clean your room daily and the maid staff were also very nice and did a great job.
There is a very popular (and delicious) restaurant downstairs, so the lobby area is just a room -but you have 24/7 access to it with an ice machine, cold and hot water, coffee, etc. There is a grassy area on the side of the hotel to sit and relax with chairs and tables. The front porch is for the restaurant so you can't relax out there. Town is a fast walk- you cannot beat the location.
Our room (16) had a very very small bathroom. That was probably the only downside of the place. It was very quiet in the back of the hotel even though the entire inn was sold out and the restaurant was packed.
Spring Lake is a wonderful place and this hotel does a nice job. We will definitely be back.

The Grand Victorian (GV) has very little to offer other than it’s location across from the beach. The GV has no lobby or sitting areas where you can congregate with friends on the main level as they have sold all the available space to the restaurant. There is not a public balcony to relax and enjoy the ocean view. If you don’t want to sit in your dated ,small room there is nowhere to go. GV is an indoor operation. It does have a small grassy area with lawn chairs next to the parking lot….but no pool. If you have luggage don’t expect help getting up the steep stairs as there is no elevator (or bellhop). There is no lobby personnel after 8pm as they close the front desk at that time. After 8pm you enter the front door with a punch code they give you however anyone in the public restaurant (which has a bar ) enters/departs the premises on the other side of this “locked” front door which would enable them to climb the stairs to where your room is at will. No security. Maybe they wouldn’t because they would be deterred by the steepness of the stairs. UNSAFE. The restaurant is supposed to close at 10pm but did not the two nights we were there so don’t expect any peace and quiet if you are on the second floor until later. FYI. The restaurant does not provide room service or offer breakfast. Not an option at the BV. The staff at the GV are helpful and nice but they are operating a deficient structure which charges top dollar and offers next to no amenities (including parking for most rooms). Nothing “Grand” about this place

The location of the Inn is perfect - walking distance to town, and directly across the street from the boardwalk. We stayed in room 4 and it was just right. The front desk was helpful and the bed and room were comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff went above the call of duty by mailing back our jackets, which we forgot in the closet. Many thanks and we will be back!

My sister stayed at this resort last July. Due to it being very noisy , she was booked at a special rate for this summer. She also has an email showing the rate. They went ahead without permission and charged her credit card the full amount at the regular rate. She has been going back and forth with Allison. She has called her names and has been nothing but rude to her telling her she trying to swindle them. After she forwarded her the email , she was then told she will honor the rate , but needs to tack on resort fee and processing fees. Today she gets an email with no explanation , telling her they are charging her the regular rate . That she can cancel. I just got off the phone with her , she is the rudest and just keeps double talking me , telling me how that rate can’t be. No matter what I said , she just refuses to honor the rate. It’s in black and white.

Perfect get away for our anniversary and staff (including Allison) went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nice. Very clean room, comfy bed and spacious bathroom. Only recommendation I would suggest to make the room even more perfect is a light in the closet and additional bathroom counter space.

We traveled to the Spring Lake area for a family/friend gathering and stayed at the Grand Victorian. We were greeted by Bob and Allison upon our arrival and felt so welcomed!! Allison was so accommodating and pleasant. Her enthusiasm about the property was so infectious that we are already planning our next stay soon!! Spring Lake beaches and boardwalk are beautiful, we grew up in this area but moved away 14 years ago and were so pleased to see how quiet and peaceful this area still is while being so close to so much fun, restaurants and bars. We found our new favorite place and will be back!!

Allison the Mgr.was phenomenal, she has a passion for her job and could not have been more accommodating. She made my visit feel special because it was my birthday. I asked for dining recommendations and I chose both of her suggestions including Bareli’s in the hotel which was convenient and very good. The second restaurant was Whisper’s in Spring Lake which was over the top, I will definitely be going there again. The rooms were recently renovated, very clean and comfortable.
I will be returning there time and time again. Kudos to Allison and her staff.👍

I've stayed here a few times & again this past Memorial Day weekend. It actually gets better each time. Small but super clean rooms with comfy beds, extremely accommodating & friendly staff and it's on the beach on the Irish Rivera!
This beautifully maintained B&B also has an excellent Italian restaurant on the first floor. It's very romantic and has delicious Gluten Free options and a cozy bar.
Did I mention the phenomenal staff? You won't be disappointed! I cannot wait to return.

Hello there, sorry for the delay in answering your question! We do not have a continental breakfast and we do not advertise continental breakfast-- our in-house, Barelis by the Sea, unfortunately doesn't serve breakfast of any kind. We do, however, have free tea & coffee available at all times to our guests, as well as some snack bars which may be enjoyed at any time as well. Our pastries come fresh each morning from a local bakery, and we can ask for gluten free options be delivered if you alert hotel staff in advance! Similarly, we can provide fruit or other options if we have a week or two notice. Hope this helps!
It's a private bathroom room. It has a stand up shower.
Yes! We have an in-house restaurant called Bareli's by the Sea. Their menus are available online at the Grand Victorian website. Though no meals there are included with your stay, we do have complimentary tea and coffee available for guests to use at any time, as well as beach passes and beach chairs available for guest use.
No it's an old hotel. All rooms are no smoking
