This hotel had pluses and minuses. It was pretty and across from the beach. From one of my windows I could see the ocean . But attention to detail was needed. For example in the bathroom all was needed was a hook on the door , you could get them at the dollar store. When you went into the bathroom there was nothing to hook a piece of clothing on , like if you wanted to hang up a robe or your bathing suit. And the cupboard had no hangers , just a few hooks. If you had a a lot of nice clothes forget it. And they had a quiet time but there was no observance and one morning an alarm went off in the kitchen area and a constant beep sounded. But we did get beach tags and it was close to most things. So with a few changes it would perfect.
I recently stayed at the Grand Victorian due to my apartment being without electricity during the last storm. I would definitely recommend. Michael and Irene took amazing care of me during my stay. The rooms are very clean. Bed is comfortable and cozy. My room had an Ocean View. I had dinner at Barelis. Delicious. Jenna was very nice and courteous.
John and his staff have put together a great take out for most nights of the week. The prime rib Saturdays are wonderful. They deliver and the food comes warm. Thank you again for bringing us a great experience
For the entire 4 days of my stay neither of the young receptionist smiled or said hello to me in the morning when I entered the reception area for coffee. I understand that it is an old building. When I mentioned that the doorknob to my room was loose and I was having trouble entering my room, the receptionist said she would get maintenance to look at it. Nothing was done. When I returned at the end of the day the doorknob fell off in my hand. I stayed on the third floor to save money. The bathroom, shower room and lavatory are down the hall. There is a sink in my room and every now it then it makes a loud giggling noise. My room is extremely tiny, with one very tiny window. The ceiling of my room slopes so I cannot see the small television from my bed because of its placement on the wall. A notice is placed at the second floor landing stating “Quiet Hours from 10pm to 8am. That never happened. Vacationers oblivious to the level of their conversations while walking down the hall late at night and the slamming their room doors as the entered and exited their room was annoying to say the least. Conversations from the room to either side of me could be heard through the walls of the room. Beach towels and beach chairs are offered first come, first served. Beach tags are offered. Nicely located across the street from the beach. it would have been lovely if they had a porch to sit out on but they enclosed it and made it a resturant. They do have a side grassy area with umbrella and chairs to sit on but it does not have a view and the sound of the air conditioner units makes it unpleasant. I feel I paid too much. I will use the price of my stay here as a benchmark and shop around for a more comfortable hotel that is welcoming to its quests and offers outdoor seating,…
old historic house. Clean and well kept. The room had a comfortable bed , comfortable shower but looked bare. air-conditioned well. There is no Lobby however, there is available free coffee and tea all the time. Location is great - across the street from the beach. The restaurant downstairs is busy . we ate there once - food was good. Hotel is pricey in the summer.
