This is a charming house that has been renovated with care. The location is perfect. It is an easy walk to the beach as well as to the town. What is outstanding about the Inn is the kindness and generosity of the owners, Joe and Hellin. They are eager to make sure that you are happy and that all your... More

Warm and cozy bed and breakfast two blocks from the ocean in beautiful Spring Lake. Rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, and breakfasts include a hot dish like homemade scones, Finnish pancake, or bacon and eggs, plus an ample assortment of juices, breakfast breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereals. But the absolute best part about The Johnson House is the... More

The Inn is located on a beautifully treed and quiet street one block from the Spring Lake Boardwalk/beach - one of the best on the Jersy Shore. The inn is wrapped by a beautifully restored porch which is furnished with comfortable wicker and rocker furniture. The rooms are tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable, and quiet. The owners are dedicated... More

We reserved the entire B&B for a wedding. Hellin and Joe could not have been kinder to each of us. We were one block from the Ocean and minutes to all that Spring Lake has to offer. The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was prepared by Hellin and suited our needs. She even shared a family recipe... More

This bed and breakfast seemed wonderful! Perfect location, friendly inn keepers, gorgeous wrap-around porch.....until breakfast happened! When visitors stay at a bed and breakfast, they expect a wonderful night's stay (which we enjoyed) and a breakfast that is not normally found at home. The word "breakfast" is in the title of the establishment....something you are paying for.....My husband and I... More

This place has so much going for it - Location - 1 block from beach - renovated beautifully - sweet owners- central air. But it misses in a couple of what is understandable cost cutting measures - such as limited beach passes that the owners hoard strangely, Breakfast was a disappointment, not what you would expect from a cute house... It speaks volumes when you call this inn last-minute (and for the first time) to see if there may be a cancellation and the innkeeper (Hellin) simply asks for your name and phone number and says, "See you tomorrow." No credit card to hold or any other formality. You know that you're heading to an place where informality rules. And... More

I am always a little nervous when booking at a small inn or b&b. The experience can be wonderful or a disaster. Fortunately for us, the Johnson House Inn was in the former category. The inn has been completely restored in recent years and the place is immaculately clean. Hellin and Joe are two of the nicest people you will... More

The Johnson House was renovated a few years ago and they went top-drawer the whole way. The rooms are spacious and outfitted with a casual elegance. Helene and Joe could not be nicer. Joe picked me up at the Spring Lake train station. They give you beach badges, and towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach. And, if you want... More

The Johnson House Inn is the perfect getaway. Welcoming owners, beautifully furnished guest rooms and public spaces, and the best porch in a location that can't be beat, just a block from the Spring Lake beach. Hellin and Jack serve breakfast treats like homemade scones, Finnish pancakes and bacon & eggs, along with fresh fruit, yogurt, breads and cereals daily.... More
