Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It included a continental breakfast which was fine, but nothing fancy. The staff was helpful, but kept to themselves. Some of the places are condos, but I think some of the INN is just that, an INN which rents rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and there is tons to do in the lovely town... More

The place is a condo hotel. Each room is individually owned and rented; but managed through a central system, complete with maid service. I booked a room through AirBnB from one of the condo owners. The place is older, in keeping with the style of the neighborhood, but well maintained and equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning and WiFi.... More

The room was large, but seemed a bit dingy/older. The bed had that plastic sound when you sat on it-- and the bottom sheet kept coming off when I slept because the mattress was thin-- it reminded me of a bed I had in college. I just felt like it could use a bit of an upgrade. I also just... More

Just finished up 5 glorious days in Spring Lake at this charming Victorian boutique hotel. Daily continental breakfast in the breezeway includes warm crumb buns and scones from a local bakery and the large wrap around porch is perfect for hanging with family and friends after a day at the beach or a run on the boardwalk. Located alongside a... More

This was our third annual summer getaway to the Hewitt Wellington. We initially chose the H-W based on Tripadvisor reviews and our experiences have kept us coming back. The setting on the lake could not be better -- we love the lake view suites -- and it's just a short and scenic walk to either the ocean or around the... More

A little pricey but charming. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great. We stayed in room 14 which was roomy and had a private deck. We packed lite since room 14 was on the 3rd floor and there isn't any elevator. Overall room was average.

How this place gets the 5 star reviews I read is a mystery to me. Spring Lake is no doubt a gem of a shore town, and the beach is just gorgeous, underpopulated, clean, and delightful. We would love to visit Spring Lake again, but would NEVER stay in this dirty old place again. Where to begin? Maybe with the... More

The basics are all here. Comfortable bed, individual room air conditioning.marble bath. Hotel dates from 1867, but was thoroughly modernized four years ago while retaining period furniture and common areas with fireplaces(non working) and chandeliers. Continental breakfast is varied. Heated pool is a nice addition if you can drag yourself away from the beautiful ocean beach 3 blocks away. Whispers... More

Location, location , location! Our suite, #2, with its own large porch, faced beautiful Spring Lake. Living room was bigger than expected. Rooms in suite are well separated for privacy. Manager extremely helpful & accomodating. (When time-consuming repairs needed to be done we were generously compensated for the inconvenience.) We plan to visit again.

We chose the HW because it has a pool, which is a rare find in Spring Lake. And the pool area, though small, was clean, well-maintained, well-appointed, and never crowded. My mother and I stayed in room 18 because it was a two room suite on the first floor. The pull out couch (although difficult to open and close) was... More
