Matt was a wonderful host at the Hewitt. Accomodations were very nice with all the necessary amenities. There were a few details that could have been handles differently but front desk employees, specifically for the purpose of lodging for wedding participants & guests. Would love a return for a personal visit to enjoy the amazing neighborhood, lake and beach.

We had a very nice size room (compared to others in the area where family was staying) and staff was very friendly- clean location- loved the original feel/history of the location. Would book again- we were on the first floor

Nice hotel. We enjoyed the balcony and the privacy. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating is because when I booked, there was no where that said that the pool was closed past Labor Day and also, the room was not the cleanest. There was an old soap bar from the previous patrons that was left in the shower. However, we’re easy, it didn’t bother us. We were happy with the closeness to the beach, the view of the lake, the bed was comfortable and the shower head was really strong. Overall, excellent experience. Will definitely return!

Hannah, First let me apologize about the soap. While we do try out best to ensure the rooms are clean and ready, we do make mistakes as well. Thank you for understanding. We are glad that you enjoyed the views from the private balcony. Regarding the pool, on our website it does state that the pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day- sorry we did not make that more prevalent on the website. We do hope that you are able to return again soon.

We were close enough to the beach, but had the beautiful scenery of the nearby pond. Loved walking everywhere and being close by to good restaurants and shops as well. Pool closed day after Labor Day. No elevators so walking up 3 flights was a lot when we were tired, but we got used to it. Quiet hours are 10pm - 8am, which was nice, though one morning we wanted breakfast earlier than 8am. Seemed like there was still construction going on in our room, but overall, pleasant stay and would stay there again, knowing what to expect now. Loved the front porch!

Marder18- Thank you for the review. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us. We apologize about the unfinished construction. The project ran a bit late due to COVID and we were unable to complete the painting throughout the hotel. We installed an interior sprinkler system as an added safety feature for our guests. The stairs can be a bit much for some people. When you are ready to return contact the hotel directly and we can coordinate a room on a lower floor for you. We look forward to welcoming you back.

The current manager of the hotel does not enjoy his job of hospitality. He is not accommodating and threatened to cancel our reservation in front of my daughter. He spoke harshly to me and refused to listen to my concerns. The hotel itself is now rundown. The towel rack in our bathroom fell and hurt my hand, the manger never apologized and told me I could go to urgent care if necessary. Our room was not clean and the wardrobe bottom had fallen. Someone had unsuccessfully attempted to tape the bottom. Overall, the manager was horrific and he does not belong in hospitality.
