For this area, this hotel is not bad, the location is great when you have kids, it’s separated from the louder, party atmosphere of seaside heights. The pool was clean, the boardwalk was a short walk and the beach is right across the street. They had breakfast in the morning and the rooms were pretty clean. We come to seaside every summer and we would stay here again.

Property is clean, but very run down. Door doesn't close properly. Windows don't fit properly. Cold wind whistling through. Hotel is used for housing welfare recipients in the off season. Unsupervised children running around and through the parked cars, screaming and throwing water at one another. Adults hanging in the parking lot and on the stairs, talking loudly and utterly expletives until well after dark. Went to front desk to request a refund so I could go elsewhere. He said no and went out and screamed at the offenders who then stood there looking me down and mumbling "wow, wow!" I left at first light. Wasted ferry fare, gas, tolls, and 1/2 marathon race registration. Stay away from this dump!

My daughter and I had two days to enjoy the beach! The people at the Desert Palm made it amazing! The location is perfect! How do you beat ocean front? The staff was so welcoming and kind! Our room was a bit dated, but spotless and smelled wonderfully clean! There was a fridge, microwave, air conditioning and bedside outlets for phone charging! The pool looked lovely! We had such great beach weather, we spent our time on the sand, across the street!! The beach entrance is also directly across the street from the hotel! We were able to use the hotels beach passes! I loved that! There was a nice breakfast served, that honestly we were not expecting! It was a nice surprise on our way out to the beach in the morning! I really can not say enough nice things about how accommodating everyone was! We will definitely stay here again!

Just got back from my annual summer stay at The Desert Palm Inn and again had a Fantastic time. We arrived around 11:45 am and even though check-in is not till 2pm, our room was ready for us. For the last couple of years when we arrive, the room is ready and they let us check right in. Such a nice touch instead of like other hotels in the area that even if room is ready, they make you wait till check-in time. Room was very clean as usual and has a nice size fridge and freezer, microwave, plenty of drawer and closet space for your things. The individual room air conditioner keeps room very cold. Bathroom is on the small side but clean with plenty of hot water for showers. We always request the same room which has windows looking out onto the shared walkway, balcony area, the ocean, and another facing the boardwalk. Balcony had a table and 2 chairs which was great for people watching, eating morning breakfast and lunch and having drinks before heading out for the 2 block walk to the boardwalk. Having a Bloody Mary on the balcony watching the sun come up is pretty awesome too. Hotel has a nice size pool to cool off in. Had it all to myself early mornings. No set times like other hotels. I could go for a swim whenever I felt like. In the morning they have a small breakfast bar set up at the tiki bar for you to help yourself. Coffee, mini bagels, doughnuts and a make your own waffle station. No need to go out for breakfast and saved us money. Just enough to hold you over till lunch time. When it’s time to go to the beach, we would grab our beach stuff from the car and just walk across the street to the beach. In less then three minutes you can be relaxing on the beach. For stays 2 nights or longer the hotel offers free beach badges, beach cost 10.00 a day so for the 4 days, we saved 80.00 dollars. Be aware there is a 50.00 deposit for each badge and you have to leave the deposit in cash so budget for this when taking your cash for vacation. The biggest reason why this hotel ranks number one in Seaside is because of the Customer service. They make us feel like family and go out of their way to accommodate any requests we have. First off all there is Raj, the manager. He is there 24/7 and is such a great friendly guy. He is always ready to help in any way he can and is so personable and has such a great attitude. Just a example of going the extra mile, we did not bring shampoo and when he could not locate the little bottles the hotel puts in the room, he gave us his shampoo to use for the night. He also gave us a bottle of wine as a welcoming gift. In all the hotels I have stayed at I have never met a better manager and consider him to be a friend. Then there is Das, the General Manager, who just excels at customer service and truly cares about his guests. He is a busy man as he has other hotels in the area but still makes time to stop by several times a day to check on the place and spends time talking to his guests and makes them happy. Always a smile, always asking what he can do for you and how he can improve your stay. These two guys make our stay a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Check - out time is 10:00 am and we never feel rushed. They even let you hold onto the beach badges after you check out so you can enjoy some extra free beach time and keep your car in the parking lot instead of paying for parking elsewhere while you hit the beach for a while. Place has a great ice machine that’s always ready to keep your drinks cold in your coolers. My biggest piece of advice is if your reading reviews of this hotel, ignore the bad reviews and just try the place, you will not be sorry. Some people are just never happy and love to complain. Remember this also, it’s Seaside park at the Jersey shore, not the hamptons or a 5 star resort town, it is what it is, just enjoy it and don’t nit pick every little thing. Also treat the hotel employees with respect and kindness and you will be surprised how enjoyable your stay will be. I know this was a long review but hope you enjoyed it and it answered some of the questions you may have had. To Raj and Das, thanks for everything and see you next year!

Just came back from our family getaway. Room is decent enough to make a visit pleasant. Although it is pricey the perk is that the boardwalk and beach are footsteps away. The room had a mildew smell and the bathroom had mold on the shower curtain and drop ceiling. The bedsheets had cigarette holes. The whole property could use a facelift and upgrades, total cleaning. No room services, they leave a trash bag hanging from your door with sheets for you to make up your beds and extra towels. Parking spots were super tight to pull out of, but at least you don't have to pay. They offer beach tags for a 50 deposit per person and you get a refund upon return. I'd rather pay the 8 bucks for the upkeep of the beach. No vending machines as they were empty and out of order. The staff was friendly. Well that's all..oh and they have a pool, if you can get in.. people took it over and made you feel like an intruder.
