My family just stayed the weekend in Point Pleasant Beach to join in the walk for Alzheimer's . While our room was clean and comfortable, the people that run this place are not friendly. We will definitely not be returning or will we recommend the Surfside to anyone.

I've stayed here 5 different times over the past few years..They were effected by Super storm Sandy two years ago but have come all the way back.The rooms are clean..up to date..plumbing works..grounds maintained. .pool maintained.You are in walking distance to the beach..to the boardwalk. .to restaurants. Enjoy the local ..catch from the ocean.The staff is courteous & helpful. I often stay off season..The rates are very very kind to my budget..

First the Good: clean, good sized rooms, strong Wi-Fi, reasonable price and a pool. The Bad: very spartan - cheapo furniture, indoor/outdoor carpeting, standard amenities missing - like a room telephone, a radio, an alarm clock, tissues and - very annoying - some way to make coffee in the room or complimentary coffee in the office in the morning for guests (the nearest breakfast place was a car ride away!) and a computer in the office (for, in our case, printing out flight boarding passes, f.ex). The Ugly: as one reviewer characterized this place: it is "creepy". There are signs everywhere! Don't do this, don't do that, this is not allowed, this is prohibited! A list of rules even over the internet when making a reservation, then repeated at check-in and then signs everywhere, all over the property and all over inside the rooms. And if you smoke forget it - not even a little bench or chair anywhere outside as a smoker's corner - you are kicked to the curb! I don't smoke but smokers do pay for their room just like anyone else - a small little accommodation is not asking too much. This underscores that this motel is all about the owners and the guests are seen as a problem to be "handled" with severe up-front discipline. The Surfside Motel reminded me of the time in St. Petersburg, Russia, when we were greeted by a huge sign with a seemingly endless list of actions prohibited in the park - by the time we were done reading, we decided to skip visiting the park. Our advice: skip this motel.

Found myself looking for a last minute place to stay for the night. This motel was really wonderful. The night staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly. The day staff was just as great. The room was really clean with no mildew smell that I have found at other shore-side motels. The room was so clean and well kept that I took a bath which is something I would normally never do at a motel. This has to have been the nicest place I have ever stayed at the Jersey Shore. They have won me over! I will go out of my way to stay here again! Bravo Surf-side!!

We have been going to the Surfside for years, it is SPOTLESS - the rooms, the pool, the grounds, everything is always pristine. This is the perfect get away for responsible adults, with or without kids to come and relax. Great location for local hot spots for food, nice stroll to the board walk. We consider this to be a hidden gem on the shore, and we fondly call it "the beach house". To sum up, you WILL get a fresh, clean, quiet room, the "basics", nice location, spotless pool, families or responsible couples. You WILL NOT get; frat parties, beer and smoke drenched carpets, loud music or stumbling drunks banging on the wrong door in the middle of the night. Thanks to the LOCALS who own and run this great place.. we will be back soon.

Recently upon moving my business from another state i needed a couple of week ends to find a home to live. upon coming to town i asked one of the experts on where to stay( taxi driver, they know everthing) he suggested surfside. the staff especially Bruce at the counter of the moter, was very kind showed me the a couple of rooms ; before putting my money down. i was amazed on the cleanilness and location of motel. i spent a total of 5 different weekends with as many diffrent rooms all fantantick. Bruce being vey knowable of the area suggested a local 3 generation realtor and was successful on finding the 25 year dream house one half block to the ocean... thanks Bruce!
Had a chance to meet the whole staff and Rich the owner all were great. I will always highly recommend my neighbors Motel as a place to call home when away from home...

We stayed two nights (out of season-late September). Super clean and surprisingly affordable. The staff was very friendly and met our needs perfectly. Great for those seeking a quiet spot, not for the party crowd. Quick walk to the north end of the Boardwalk, with some large restaurants on the same block on the river side of the property. Great for couples without children

A super clean and neat place. Run by family for familys no party crowds, come here to enjoy the shore and have no worries, they will cater to your needs, forgot your blow dryer, they have one for you. forgot your iron, they have one for you. need a band aid, scissors, tooth paste, tooth brush, pen, pencil, paper, kids toy, menue, map, information, go to the office they have everything and its free! Security, the best! Some one is always around checking on the property and the customers, making sure everything is up to par. The pool is crystal clear and maintained all day long, Heated too, for those cool days. Leave your car in the parking lot and walk don't pay to park your car at the beach or boardwalk. They will let you stay after you check out of your room and go to the beach or pool all day long leaving your car there untill later in the day. Did I say you get free beach passes daily. This saves you more bucks. Many many eating places within walking distance for all 3 meals per day. Some open at 6:00 AM for early coffee. Follow the rules list and enjoy your vacation at a place that is like being at mom"s house.

The Surfside Motel is a clean and convenient Motel in Point Pleasant! The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day and it is a quiet place that welcomes children of all ages.
I love the location! It it one block away from great restaurants such as the Lobster Shanty and Warfside. It is also a quick walk to the boardwalk and beach. My husband and I stay there every June for our anniversary weekend. This was the first time we brought our 2 year old son. There is a pool that is spotless and heated which we enjoyed very much. There is a refrigerator in every room which makes traveling with a child very easy. The staff is very accomodating and offer free beach badges each day you stay there. You never have to move your car even the day you checkout. You can leave your car go to the beach and then go home without paying for parking that day! We love the surfside and can't wait to go again next year!
