Looking for a clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay in Point Pleasant Beach? Then look no further than Surfside Motel. Our family owned and operated motel has been working hard for over 32 years to create a controlled environment for families and mature adults, 25 and over please. Play at the beach (6 minute walk) or lounge at our heated pool all day knowing there are multiple restaurants within a short walk. The rooms offer cable tv, air conditioning, small refrigerator, table and 2 chairs & wifi. Property amenities include heated swimming pool, ice machine, two chairs outside each room, second floor sun deck, parking for one vehicle per room and the entire property is smoke free. Call us to reseve a room since we don't accept online reservations.

A girlfriend and I traveled to Point Pleasant beach the weekend following 4th of July. This property stood out to us because it is VERY well-kept and very close to the beach. I called the location and the manager said that they have rooms available, but that they do not accept reservations over the phone. We drove to the location immediately and got there within 5 minutes of making the call. My friend is white and I am black. She walked up first and said that we had just called about room availability and the manager mentioned that he had rooms (plural) still available. As he was taking our information, I noticed he was asking a LOT of questions and was taking a long time with each of our ID cards. He took her card and had it for about 10 minutes (no joke) and then took mine and had it for about the same amount of time. During this time, two people stopped asking about rooms. A young, hip-hoppy looking guy and a black guy. He told them both he had no rooms available. When they left, he rolled his eyes towards us and said he has to keep certain people out of his hotel. Obviously, he had no idea what type of people they were. We were all checked in and went to the room, which was clean and exactly what we needed for the night. As we were leaving, we saw a white couple checking in! What?! I thought there were NO ROOMS LEFT?! We went about our night and came back later on. We met up with a couple of friends we knew and they came back with us (they happen to be minorities). The next morning we woke up to someone banging on our door. The manager told us we had too many cars in the parking lot and that because of that he was going to have to call the police if we didn't leave immediately! It was 10am and checkout was at 11am. I guess he could not bear to have minorities in his motel or their cars in his parking lot for one more hour. We were very respectful of the motel, the parking lot, the staff, etc. The management team had NO reason to threaten to call the police on us. Even when he came to the door, we were respectful to the manager and he STILL continued to raise his voice towards us and make threats. We did not deserve the horrible treatment we received at the Surfside Motel and we will never stay here again.

DO NOT STAY I had to call Ocean County Health system to investigate the serious bed bugs infestation. When the staff was alerted, the owner Rich replied "How do I know you didn't bring them in?"
We had to throw all our clothes away and use a special spray before we went back in our homes. This place in my opinion has to be the worst dump.. Looks great from outside but the staff/owner is a nasty $$$$$hungry b*****D beware of the inside...I warned you.

Do not plan in staying here, if your looking for a good, hassle free stay. The owners live there and watch everything you and your family do. Very creepy and uncomfortable. Expensive compared to other motels in area. Too many rules, the strangest one is that you cannot sit in the front porch and have a conversation in the middle if the day. More then one person is considered a " gathering" and that is not allowed and you and your group will get tossed out. This stinks when you plan a vacation, and they toss you and your family out. Thank goodness we found a cleaner, cheaper and friendlier place to stay. I don't know how anyone could feel comfortable staying at this place with Norman Bates watching and listening to everything you and you family say.

The rooms were small and claustrophobic when they are supposed to accommodate however many people you have, the walk is very far from the beach and boardwalk, and the staff is so ungodly rude it's insane. They get snotty with you when you ask for help and walk around like sharks making sure you are marching as they expect you to do with how many rules they have, especially with the 13 million signs all over the rooms with demands to do as they say or you get a fine. Everything else about this beach was perfect except for this hotel. I will never stay here again.

Spent the weekend with family. Staff was rude and unwelcoming. Wouldn't allow anyone else on the property that was not booked in a room, even just to wait for us. Security walked the grounds watching every move we made, very uncomfortable. Would never stay again or recommend to anyone who doesn't go to bed at 8:00 pm.

I would like to say even though the Surfside has the most well kept property, nicest looking motel, I will never stay there and never recommend that place to anyone. My friend and I planned a little girl’s weekend away and booked at the Surfside. She was quoted a price over the phone and booked the room; unfortunately I was the one who received the receipt. We didn’t talk about it until we were down there my bad I understand that!! We tried to explain to them what had happened and the man behind the counter even agreed he did price her wrong over the phone. Instead of trying to work something out he became extremely RUDE, pointing, yelling at us like we were being scolded by our farther. I received my deposit back and they DID NOT get our business. It was very unprofessional the way he acted!!!

The worst experience ever. If you are looking for privacy on your vacation, this is not the place to go. The owner spy's on you. Has got camera's everywhere and stays up on his deck watching your every move. He and his wife have very bad attitudes and are very confrontational. They don't want you drinking alcohol on your vacation. If you do he will approach you and accuse you of drinking till you drop. Stay away from this Motel.

I arrived there on a Friday night with my husband and three children. I thought it was going to be a pleasant stay until that night. My Husband Sister and her boyfriend just came down and stopped by to see the kids and us to make plans for the next day. They only stopped by for 10 minutes the kids fell asleep we walked out side and the women at the front desk screamed at us saying no one can stop by which we didn't know we told her to calm down and we were sorry but there was no calming her down she is crazy and was going to kick us out that night even with the children. the next day she had our money all counted out and made us leave over two quiet guest who only stopped by for 10 minutes she also followed them to there car to make sure they left and told us I will be here all night watching you. You have no privacy very creepy knowing people are watching you . Stay at The Hershey Motel in Sea side very laid back and your not being watch. There are probably cameras in the rooms as well at the surfside Motel . I would never recommend anyone to stay there. The women needs to take meds she is nuts.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Watched them call the cops on two girls and left them on the curb at 3 am while management laughed at them and told them to " drive home or sleep in their car" gross
