SUMMARY – Great location and that's it For what I got, grossly overpaid at $162/night. Location is perfect, which my priority when booking. I mistakenly assumed at that price and with TripAdvisor 4.5 stars I would get at least Super 8 Motel “amenities.” Profound mystery how this property is rated 4.5 stars. POSITIVES – Good location and clean Location: Ideal, right on the beach and with a direct walkway to the boardwalk. Cleanliness: Everything appeared clean and daily housekeeping was effective. Left housekeeping a good tip since none of the NEGATIVES are their fault. Beach badges: Provided at front desk A/C: Reasonably effective, tolerable noise level Parking: Dedicated spot is directly in front of room. Owner & staff: Super nice and entirely sympathetic, but unable to help in any way whatsoever. NEGATIVES – Fails on minimum expectations Shower: Water pressure makes a drinking fountain seem like a fire hose. Don’t plan to shower during your stay. When I raised the issue was told this was normal water pressure and that actually it gets progressively even worse further from the office and in the direction of the beach. Ability to shower is not a bonus “amenity” but an absolute minimum I expect, and certainly at $162/night. Not sure what made me more irate, the drip-drip shower or the owner saying that's normal. [ -2.0 stars ] Refrigerator: None! Can’t remember anyplace I’ve stayed in last 20 years without a fridge. [ -0.5 stars ] Microwave: See above. [Irritating, but no separate deduction] Wifi: Non-existent. Seemed to be functional in some parts of the property, but not my room. [ -0.5 stars ] Door and Windows: Made of tilting glass slats that are not even a little sound-proof [Noise was mostly tolerable, so no separate deduction] Blow dryer: None in room. Wife obtained one from front office. Dryer said “1500” on the barrel (as in watts?), but couldn’t blow over a flea. [Comical, but no separate deduction] NEUTRAL BUT EMBARRASSING [No deductions] Overall room décor: Mom & pop decorating on a $10 budget from a 1950’s magazine, but innocuous Bathroom: Beat-up fixtures and tile that was already embarrassing in 1970 Pool: The size of a large bathtub CONCLUSION – Very poor value, much better options available Acceptable if you can book for <$100 and plan on only using the bed & parking space, and absolutely nothing else. Decision to book here was based on the 4.5 star TripAdvisor rating, so felt compelled to leave a review making it clear this property at $162/night fails to meet rock bottom minimum expectations.

I stayed for 2 days and wind up overstaying one more day, the staff are super friendly and the rooms are very clean, need a bit of update but no complaints, very close to the beach. what makes this place great to stay is the people that work there.

I just spent 4 nights at the Windswept. My overall experience was great. I brought a friend and my 8 year old. It’s in a perfect location in a Quiet section of the boardwalk and a 10 minute walk to all the action at Jenkinson’s -Aquarium, arcades, and a 3 minute walk to lighthouse mini golf. Parking is FREE. Wrist bands are provided daily and are free for the beach. This is a motel. It has 2 floors no elevator. There is a moderate sized pool which was very clean. The hotel is on the beach. You have to walk up a small hill that enters the beach. There was a dune built in the past 6-8 months. The view of the ocean is blocked unless You climb the dune or you are upstairs on the 2nd floor of the hotel. My room was small, no view, 1 queen bed that was not very comfortable. My biggest issue was no fridge in the room. It was very hot during my stay. It was hard to keep water cold using ice. The staff is very accommodating, and very friendly. I arrived Early in the day and I was allowed to use the beach and pool and my room was ready by 10am. The room was VERY clean. It needs updating but it was very clean, the shower water pressure is great and housekeeping was attentive. The AC Worked well in high 90s/100 degree heat. I will definitely come back again. And would recommend this to people of all ages and those with kids. It’s affordable. The only thing I would recommend to management is to open the pool until 9 and a Windswept sign update. Its old and worn and we almost missed the hotel when driving by it several times this week.

I stayed here once before years ago so I decided to book here for one night because I needed a quick getaway. I had to call because you cannot book online. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. The only room available was room 203 which is in the back with no ocean view. I felt that it was quite pricey. The total was $357 for one night. The place seems pretty run down. I will say the room was clean. Only a few ants crawling around here and there but the bathroom was spotless. We didn’t use the pool. The beach was a close walk. And it was great. They will only give you a parking pass for one car which wasn’t great so the other adult had to find parking in the street which we were surprisingly lucky to do.

We have been coming to Windswept Motel in Point Pleasant Beach NJ for many years. It is smaller, always spotless clean and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The dunes have been changed and you cannot see the tide go in and out anymore, but the path to the ocean is shorter and easier to access in less than five minutes. The sand is so clean. Several dining areas are within short walking distance. The owner is always someplace close and has great information and stories. Great place for couples and families with children. The walkway opens immediately onto the boardwalk. Bring your own hair dryer if you use one. I have recommended the lovely place to many people and all have been pleased. Book early to get your favorite room.
