Worst thing: Went in a pop-up with no toilet or shower so needed to use the bathrooms at the campsite. They were clean but the showers kept getting backed up so standing in 3 inches of water for a short shower and no place to put your clothes. Best: Beautifully maintained, plenty of places to collect kindling and pine cones for campfire in campground and outside campground plenty of places along the way to buy wood for $5. Beautiful lake for canoeing or swimming, with sandy beach. Short hike around the lake. Location great to go into Cape May, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Wildwood or the Cape May Zoo. Also able to shop for supplies not too far if needed.

I was told the waterpark was close due to no life guards but I understood because a lot of these summer jobs pay less then the unemployment checks that come are still coming out. The pool and lake was still open since they were swim at your own risk. Staff was nice and helpful. One girl set up rainy day actives for the kids in the beach comer and my family loved it.

Campground was nice, but there was a campfire ban our entire trip. We also came during the week because we saw there was wifi available and it was per fee only so we did sign up and pay for 3 days of wifi and it never worked, had 1 bar, and didn’t connect to any devices our kids needed for virtual school. Hopefully we have a better trip when we come back in June.

Cabins were old, run down, and dirty. They should have an indie tour thoroughly go through cabins to ensure they were cleaned properly before guests arrive. The water was brown and smelled like rotten eggs. We’re also bugs in the sink. They did move us to another unit but that was dirty too, not quite as bad but still had dirty dishes, ketchup on the walls...items that an inspector would surely have seen if it was checked after supposedly being cleaned.

We stayed at one of the tent sites, it was great. Only requests would be check toilet paper more frequently in bathrooms and someone to go through after someone checks out and just tidy up anything left behind there were a lot of tent stakes everywhere and the fire pit grate was gone and we were told the sites all had them. Otherwise everything was fantastic and I would stay again and again!

There was a big problem with the cabin - a/c did not work, the beds were broken, TV did not work so we lost almost two days of our vacation. Then we were moved to another unit where TV did not work either and only after I told cable person over the phone that I will contact TV station and let them know what is going on the service man came to visit and fixed the problem. When I tried to transfer the cable from one cabin to another and left four messages with the cable company nobody returned my phone call so I was forced to order cable service for a second cable and payed twice. We are paying $$$ common charges but for what? We are member ot the Thousand Trails for many years but the service and quality of site and cabins becoming worst and worst.

We have been coming to lake and shore RV resort for many years. Love the location and the amenities such as water park, beach and pool. This stay was very disappointing. We had arrived later in the day around 7 and the ranger was unable to be reached so we waited at the front gate for 45 mins before being able to check in which after a 3 hr ride is super frustrating. He did not realize his phone was dead. Finally after getting into the 2 bedroom park model we had rented, we were greeted with a bathroom and kitchen full (at least 50) of large black ants that scattered with the light. We Had to keep all snacks in our car and continued to kill the ants the entire stay. The cabin was not as clean as previous stays with crumbs all over the counter. There was also a large hole in the bedroom wall above the bed and the couch in the living room was falling apart. For $300 per night, I think we’ll be looking elsewhere to rent for our next get away.

This once great Outdoor World family resort has become trash. Water park closed due to lack of lifeguard staffing - an expensive amenity paid for and not refunded, staff no where to be found, bandaids over smoke detectors in units, upon check in bathroom visibly unsanitary with dirt, hair, and feces, holes in mattresses, bug bites every morning, glass oven door gets so hot that instant burns to fingertips occurred. Multiple families complained and NOTHING is done. Staff acts like they are aware of issues but nothing is done to rectify or improve. If you went to Lake and Shore under Outdoor World, don't expect things to be nice anymore. New management = poor service and campgrounds are no longer a family memory favorite. Save your thousands and go else where!

The place would be great if it was cleaned up. I'm not sure why maintance equipment are left in the sites. Only a small amount of RV sites for club members. Please clean and add shower heads in the rest rooms...hot water helps also

I use lake and shore as a transient camper. However, my cousin has a year round seasonal here. Seasonal sites are open year round. The park does close in November for transients. You should call and find out what restrictions they have for winter seasonal homes if any.

Answer from Iris A

You can get a yearly membership for about $500 (for maintenance fees). They can withdrawal it from your account monthly. They have other upgrades available. Once you pay monthly fee you can call for day pass and enjoy facilities or you can rent a cabin. They do charge for cabins. Go online; check thousand trails My family loves the campgrounds. They have them all over the USA
