Upon arrival there was an issue with the cleanseness of pull out sofa. The entire staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation. The lady at front desk (can't recall name) the maid and the manager were very accommodating. The entire staff turned a potential disaster into a pleasant stay.I don't usually write reviews, unless it's a very bad experience or unless someone goes above and beyond their duties to make your stay pleasant. In this case it's the latter. I want to thank thank the manager, the staff and the maid service for their kindness. Definitely will stay here again.

We were sharing a room with our daughter who is in the military and the sofa sleeper was extremely uncomfortable. So we called the front desk to see about getting a second room. Front desk said the were sold out. Parking lot was half empty. So I went on website and booked another room easily. Front desk couldn’t explain it but acted like we were a burden. My daughter’s room smelled like urine. I suggest you stay away from this place. Very unpleasant for Candlewood . Stay somewhere else.

Hi DKHibbens, Thank you for your feedback and it is great to hear from you. Here at the Candlewood, we want our guests to enjoy the comforts of your home at a comfortable value. Based on your feedback this does not seem to be the case. I apologize that the service provided by our front desk to help you resolve your concern was not up to the level of hospitality that you would have expected. Your experience has been shared with the Management of the Hotel, specifically our front desk team, so they can look into how we can further enhance our practices. Furthermore, I have sent a private message to learn more about your concerns. We want our guests to feel that the Candlewood suites as their home base while they are out traveling. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Loved the comfort of the room. He attended a conference, I worked on the room while he was busy. The kitchen was complete, including a dishwasher. The bed was so comfortable after a long day at work. Thank you for our stay.

I stayed at the Mt. Laurel Candlewood for one night because it was 1) near the turnpike entrance and 2) less expensive than its neighbors while still getting good reviews. The short of it is this: it's a clean, inexpensive, convenient hotel. If you want anything more than that, you need to look somewhere else. For about the same price as a Super 8 or a Red Roof, this was a BY FAR better experience. The lobby barely exists and the room needed some renovating. There was a bit of mildew and rust in the bathroom, and the toilet tank ran off an on (though with the bathroom door closed, it couldn't be heard). Still, for under $70, the room was clean, the bed was very comfy, there was a full kitchen, wifi, laundry, a small gym, and a coffee machine. These kind of hotels are for people who need to be someplace for work for a while and don't want to spend money eating out every day. No frills but clean. Is it trendy like the nearby Aloft? No. Does it have an on site restaurant and bar like the nearby Wyndham? No. But you're paying half the price. I recommend the hotel.

Do NOT come here! This property is a dump. I know the pictures look beautiful (great photographer) but it’s not reality. I have stayed in a Candlewood property in California and it was lovely. This property in NJ is more like an extended stay type place. I knew something was off when I got out of my car and walked along the building. The smell was old and musty with them trying to cover it up with air freshener. Not pleasant. The lobby smells and the room also smells something awful. I called the main number and was hung up on twice. I’m an IHG member so this makes it all so much worse. I’ve been on the road since 5am and booked my room via phone with the main reservations. The price I was given on the phone and the price I was charged at check-in were two different prices. I was charged more at the property. At that point it was after 10p and I was exhausted. I will not only never stay at this property but I will no longer stay at any Candlewood property again. Please do yourselves a favor and find another place to stay. There are many many lovely hotels and motels walking distance from this dump.

Hi racheltraveler47, Thanks for preferring us among your many hotel options, and thanks for the candid review. Our goal is to make you feel at home, at your best and really productive while on the road. Regrettably, we haven't exceeded expectations on this visit. I'm so sorry too for the odd smell encountered on our lobby and bedroom. I also understand your dismay upon learning of the difference in the price of the room. This is certainly not what our hotel strives for, nor is this our usual or our best. I reviewed your comments with our hotel ownership so we can work on the areas of concern. I've also sent you an email which should now be in your inbox discussing your stay further. Best, Kenneth F Case Manager IHGService
