It's probably a bit unfair to comment on the Majestic 'makeover' , regarded by some as a bit basic . The hotel has re-opened after considerable flood damage and the furnishing and decor is modern , bright and cheerful . We stayed in the adjacent apartments , which are managed by the hotel and found the staff to be friendly... More

We came here to watch the Tour de France in 2012. Everything was very lovely with gorgeous views of the mountains or the town depending on which side of the hotel you were on. We had three rooms so we saw both views. The service was very nice, especially considering how many people were in town for the Tour. The... More

We stayed for two nights. Everything was rather basic, but then again we did not pay a very high prize. So we enjoyed what we got. The room is spacious and has a friedndly decoration in fresh colours, the beds are good and because of the balcony we had enough fresh air.

Requested a quiet room in the hotel and that's what we got. There was a large party in the main salon but we did not hear it. Rated 3 star we had large room with large bathroom and very clean. Good value priced per room including generous continental breakfast. Good service welcoming staff. Recommended if on a budget but want... More

Once a truly majestic hotel, this has been refurbished by Ikea, and everything done to make this hotel run at the cheapest cost possible. Staff are friendly but untrained. The restaurant now looks like a works canteen - dreadful cheap furniture, awful lighting etc. The breakfast is minimal and very disappointing (especially at 11 Euros). The rooms are clean, and... We booked two rooms through hotels.com in early June 2013 to use while passing through on July 10 2013. We arrived that evening to find the hotel completed closed due to flooding with a note on the door referring us to JARDINS DE RAMEL, a different property behind Le Majestic (and owned by the same company, I believe.) However, the... More

While travelling through the Pyrenees we needed somewhere to stay for a night, and settled on Luchon. After noting down the names of a few hotels we drove around town looking at a few before settling on Le Majestic. It is a wonderful old building, having been renovated not too long ago. As a result the rooms are fresh and... More

This hotel is set in some spectactular scenery and our large room had a view of the mountains. We arrived late as we did many of the Tour De France routes before our arrival. We therefore ate late in the restaurant and were not dissapointed. The food was very good and the set meals did not dissapoint us. We had... More

The hotel is lovely but pretty basic. It was clean and comfortable, and was situated in a good location amid beautiful parks but just a short walk from the main street in Luchon. Everything was fine and met our expectation, but the noise from the busy road in front of the hotel is very loud at night if you have... More

The hotel has a very nice setting and is easily accessible. The rooms are spacious and the cot for our son was comfortable. The only things that are missing are ventilation (when we open the windows in the heat the traffic noise is very loud), there are no facilities to boil your own water and no fridge. We managed ok...
