I understand Covid is going on. When I walked into my room after checking in there no towels in the bathroom. I can live with that but when I went down to ask for a glass for a drink mind me even a disposable glass to have a drink the guy ( CARLOS) at the reception simply said we don’t have anything or any glasses for you even disposable ones. I am a Marriott member but I wanted to try Wyndham properties because I was In the area but I learned my lesson stay with Marriott always. Service sucks here at this property.

This hotel is well past it's best and in need of major investment. The whole hotel and my room were very tired. My air con stopped working on the first day and that was it. The breakfast room is in the basement, tiny and very hot - I went to a very nice diner over the road each day. The staff are generally surly but I think they've just been worn downj by what they have to work with.

This doesn’t need renovation, it need demolition. First room had no heat and the staff were incredulous when I wanted to change room. It is December in New Jersey but I wanted heat, how foolish of me! The place was so sketchy with random people walking around it the my female co-workers decided to share a room because they did not feel safe alone ina room. I felt like either a murder or drip deal was sure to go down. Since we survived I wanted warm all of you to avoid this trash pit.

The room was big and more like a small apartment. The breakfast was great and plentiful and never had any issues finding a seat. Very convenient location for Journal Square station and from there a short ride into Manhattan. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. The reception staff were very good as was the Shuttle bus to and from the Newark Airport. On the down side the biggest problem is the room heating. Way too hot and no way to turn it down so had to put the Air-con on to blow cold air in. Also its really noisy and the pipes creak very loudly all night so ear plugs required! The room is in dire need of modernising. Even a coat of paint and some new furniture would make a huge difference. The floor in the Kitchenette feels sticky and the cupboard door wouldn't close.

Best thing - super convenient to the Journal Square PATH station. Clean room, effective front desk staff, large breakfast selection. Free and reliable wifi. Shortage of available outlets that would hold a plug firmly (one plug built into a lamp was the best choice). If you want all-new and modern, this is not the property for you. Feels like a recent update of a 1950s building that had old-style layout. Our most recent stay was a large room with a tiny bathroom and odd but everything-there breakfast bar (mini fridge, microwave, counter, cabinet). Small, slow elevators - but reliable. If you drive in, no onsite parking (except load/unload for check-in), but the parking garage "at the Square" is just one block away (at the end of a dead-end, there are signs but you may want to check it out online the first time you go). They do advertise a Newark Liberty shuttle van service (we didn't use it, were going to NYC not the airport).
