My wife and I truly enjoyed our weekend getaway. Gloria and Bob were the most thoughtful hosts. Our breakfast was delicious and customized to our specific dietary requests. Our gorgeous room overlooking Sandy Hook beach was cleaned almost immediately after we left. Gloria offered

Very simple just a run down old hotel kind of or perhaps a old run down bordering house.
No Service, dirty, dusty, smells like cat and dog urine! Old saw the waiter at breakfast to take the order and show where the coffee is located. We completed our stay because we did not have

You have to really love the Victorian eccentric B&B vibe to enjoy this place. It smells like dog and cat urine. The two people who run the place are socially awkward. The decor makes Miss Havisham's room look like the W hotel. Think seriously about this choice.

hi can you walk to the beach from the hotel
Hi - Thank you for your inquiry. It is at least a 20 minute walk to get to Sandy Hook and the beaches span several miles. They do have a Jitney that goes from beach to beach - from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We have bicycles available to our guests - at no charge.

Since we are arriving by ferry and won't have a car, my concern is transportation once we arrive to and from the Sandy Hook beach areas and restaurants in Highland. I’m worried if riding a bike is really practical or not to and back from those destinations. Are there steep hills, etc.?
We at SeaScape will pick up our guests from the SeaStreak Ferry -if we know the time in advance. There are taxis readily available at the Ferry terminal - we are only 1 mile away and the taxi fare is $5-$7. It is possible to walk to 6 great restaurants in the area - in about 15 minutes. Again a taxi can be taken for about $5 - $7 one way. Sandy Hook Beach is about a 25 minute walk to get to the entrance. Sandy Hook offers a Jitney Service to go from beach to beach. There is no transportation to and from Sandy Hook - other than a taxi. We do provide bicycles for our guests - at no additional charge. SeaScape Manor is up on top of the hill and it is necessary to bike up the hill to get back to us. If you are not an avid bike rider - that could prove difficult. We are small and have a small staff - so we cannot say that we will take folks to the beach and pick them up. If it works out that it is possible with our work load and schedules - we would offer guests this service. We do have many folks who come out on the ferry and utilize the bicycles and or walk to their destinations. To get out to other areas such as Red Bank - it would be necessary to have a car. Enterprise Car Rental is in the area and does pick up their customers.
