I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for business travelers. I had a meeting come up suddenly and needed conference room space and a place to stay near the airport and the marine terminal of Port of Elizabeth. The hotel made the reservation and stay so easy and pleasant. They simply could not have been more accommodating. I will always use this hotel for meetings or conferences should the need arise again.

I have not had good Marriott customer service experience in recent years, and this stay was yet another example. I tried calling reservations to find a Newark airport distressed passenger rate, yet the agent was clueless and wasted several minutes with me on the phone. So I hung up and just went online and booked the Renaissance to be close to the airport for my forced overnight stay, and booked it over the Courtyard for the lounge. And then when I asked about the lounge at the front desk after arrival, I was told 'it was closed because there were too many elite members after the merger.' So I overpaid twice. I've still rated them very good because the room, bed and internet were good.

I loved everything about this hotel I love the fireplace as you walked in I love the ceiling panels I love the layout of the restaurant and the bar I love the rooms. Where it loses points with me, the restaurant and the bar were challenged when I asked for vegan food. The breakfast was built around a flesh eater, eggs sausage bacon potatoes waffles with eggs. Vegan would be challenged to eat their breakfast. My company later had a brunch and a vegetarian would enjoy it but if Vegan would not when I asked for a vegan cheese they didn’t have any. I was served a very uninteresting meal of rice zucchini and carrots. So if you’re Vegan and you’re going to stay there, are you going to need to find a restaurant that will bring you food because you won’t be able to get it there. So sorry it’s a really nice hotel.

We spent one night before embarking on a cruise. The receptionist (male) was extremely nice and helpful and took plenty of time as we were the first of 3 parties to arrive. The rooms were lovely, spacious and modern. The included buffet breakfast was extensive and hot as appropriate. As our group arrived late we had to eat in the hotel as there were no restaurants within walking distance. The menu was limited and ordinary and the service was very slow. The cost for the room was high despite it being the cruise lines choice.

My husband and I stayed here for work training. The shuttle from Newark picked us up fairly quickly and got us to the hotel within the 15 minutes. It was fairly easy to get to the airport shuttles at the airport, just take the airtrain to p4. Check In at hotel was quick and easy. We did not use the exercise facility or the pool, but it appeared well maintained. We ate at the hotel restaurant, and enjoyed our meal. There is not a coffee bar, like a Starbucks, on the property. That may be important to some, it did not really matter to us. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. If you don’t have a car, and would like to see the sights, you can travel back to the airport via the free shuttle, and take the New Jersey train line into Penn station ( New York ). We did this a few times. Overall, it was a nice stay. I’ve been to some hotels for other work related stays and did not have as good an experience. If we were to travel back to the New York/ New Jersey area, We would consider using this hotel.
