Poor check in and out experience; room reeked of cigarette smoke; alarm clock, coffee maker, hair dryer all did not work; floor was filthy and bottom of white socks turned black; fridge made loud humming noise to point we had to pull very dirty plug and unplug; could not of paid my husband or I to take bath or shower. Feel compensation is in order. Stayed 3-20. Last name D’Urso

Checked in and found a dead Roach on top of the hotel safe, The jetted tub had a long black hair stuck on one of the spray jets. The mattress was very “hard” made sleeping uncomfortable and woke up feeling more tired. The rooms decor was extremely outdated and resembled an 80’s porn movie. They advertised the king suite with a fireplace but when I pressed the on button nothing happened. I called the front desk Saturday night and the employee who checked us in said he didn’t know how to use the fireplace and didn’t have instructions for us. I also informed him about the dead roach and the hair and he never once offered to remove us or switch us to another king suite. No apologies made. The customer service provided was horrible. I would never recommend this place not even as a crack house. I wasted $$$ here since they offered no resolution a my review is painfully true.

We spend 3 days in this place due to the winter storm and I have to say they are completely incompetent. The drive way hasn’t been shoveled at all. We were basically trapped and then they gave us a shovel so we can shovel our way out. We shouldn’t have to do this at all!!!! Unsatisfactory service. Would never stay here again

I could write an essay. So I will. We checked in at the Econo Lodge Meadowlands and asked for a "late checkout" (12pm instead of 11am). It was my girlfriend's birthday, so she wanted to wake up and use the jacuzzi while I worked until noon. We were told that this "would not be a problem at all." We'll get back to this. We tried filling up the jacuzzi (the ONLY reason we splurged and got this room for her birthday...) and the water was ICE cold. The sink water was decently warm, while the shower water was also ICE cold... so we figured we'd wait it out a little bit. We tried again 30-45 mins later... still completely cold. We tried calling the front desk, but our room phone wasn't getting a dial tone... Instead, we had to walk outside in the rain to go to the front desk to ask the the one employee about this... He ensured us that he had literally "just reset" the boiler and it should be working again. We went back to the room and still had no hot water. We're reasonable people, so we waited it out. After another hour (I have no clue what time it was at night at this point... and all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the jacuzzi together), we called the front desk (from our cell phones) and the employee actually HUNG UP on my girlfriend. We were so frustrated at this point... We tried waiting again. At this point, it was *almost* comical... 30 minutes later, we hear a LOUD banging on our door... I put on a mask to go answer the door, and as soon as I opened it, the one hotel employee barged in (we weren't fully clothed... it was late at night) and immediately went over to the jacuzzi and turned on the water. It's as if he didn't believe us! He tried letting it run for 15 mins. Then, he tried the shower for 10 more mins before storming out. After another 45ish minutes, we eventually got water that was "warm enough" to use the tub. But, we wasted an ENTIRE night on this... Then, in the morning, we figured we'd use the jacuzzi again (as mentioned earlier). And, as mentioned earlier, we were promised a 12pm checkout... Well, at 11:15am (while we were in the jacuzzi), we heard a LOUD banging on the door! I jumped out of the tub to open it (didn't want anyone coming in the room while we were taking a bath!), and by the time I opened the door, no one was there... Then, our room phone rang... Yes, the same room phone that was completely broken the night before... We answered the phone, and no one was there... This was a night out of a horror movie. I need my money back. Or a free night. Or something... Because this was insane. I've never had an experience like this. And, despite my fantastic writing ability, I've NEVER written a review for a hotel! I tried contacted the hotel multiple times through their website and email address before posting this... but, I couldn't get a response from them!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice underground parking garage. Room was quiet and comfortable, except we didn’t have a table and chairs for eating breakfast. Food options for the free breakfast were limited, but it was enough. There is only one restaurant within walking distance, but hotel is right on the bus route with direct service to NYC. Overall, a better-than-average experience. I would stay there again.
