Sun Retreats Avalon is a family oriented, clean, beautiful campground with an excellent staff. They take the time to make everything great at the resort. I encourage any family interested in camping to stop by and stay at this resort.
Brenda is just amazing! She always has the best activities including our favorite candy bar bingo. The staff is amazing. They have amenities including a pool, a small arcade, a restaurant, a mini golf course, playgrounds, basketball courts, shower houses, and a zipline course. This place is just amazing. We love going here! We go here every year. I can't recommend this enough! It's a great place for a family vacation!
We came here with our toddler and newborn and my husband and I . Booked the trip 3-4 months in advanced as a nice first family get away to relax and spend time together. We have family that have a seasonal spot and we’re looking forward to the trip. I was greatly disappointed. There was no mention that the living area was in this condition and when my family and myself brought it up to the staff they continued to say they couldn’t do anything about it cause we already had a good rate due to our family having a permanent spot at the campground. They just stared and didn’t offer to Move our cabin or any resolution. The person that I would need to speak to was “off” or “in a meeting” the whole trip. Mind you there were plenty of other open cabins on our street and the next street. I wasn’t asking for money. I was asking for an alternative to having my children and myself essentially in these conditions during our vacation. My first night after seeing this all I wanted to do was go home. Would have been better off and saved 700$. We knew during the trip since it was off season we wouldn’t get to use most amenities like the pool or lake or other things offered and we’re looking forward for a nice cabin and couldn’t even get that. I would save your money or find another spot to camp if you don’t already have your own trailer where you can be sure of the conditions.…
The campsite is amazing by itself and overall everything is really nice, clean, and beautiful. When we came our AC in our cabin was not working, but the maintenance guys cane over real quick and fixed it up no problem. Straight up professionals! They did a great job and we had an amazing time at the campsite. Special thanks to Dan, Jim, and Paul for being the best maintenance guys and doing there job super good. Love the campsite and we are definitely coming back on our next camping trip.
What a great place to spend quality time outdoors! Plenty of open space and recreation areas. This year with COVID there were changes but the staff at Big Timber Lake did a tremendous job despite the challenges! Kudos to Sherry and Aly in the office who handled things with a can do attitude and a smile, Liam at the lake who was always kind to the kids. The maintenance staff worked hard to keep things tidy and the night security guys, Dennis and Dan ran a tight ship with no shenanigans and made this year fantastic! We can hardly wait until next year!
We stayed at BTL last weekend and Brenda in activities went above and beyond to ensure our family had the best time ever. From water gun tye dye, arts and crafts for kids and adults to our favorite candy bar bingo we were wowed! She's top notch and will be back because of her!
When I visited Big Timber Lake it was nothing but a fun time and the atmosphere was very friendly. The women in the office are very helpful. The young lady named Ali went above and beyond to help me find everything I needed and answered all the questions I had. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone!
We really had a good time ! This was my first time there, but definitely we are coming back next year! The pool is great, the lake is awesome and ready for you to swimming. The place is well distributed among the RVs and cabins. We love this place, highly recommended!!!!
I shouldn't have expected much the first experience was when I was checking in I heard a man explaining he had no power at his site and they were all like wtf are we supposed to do we will send someone out when they're available. Then i get to my cabin that we paid almost $300 a night for and all we could smell was sewage but there was nothing they could do. Then we go into the cabin and it wasn't clean at all. Then apparently the roads here are all one way but I wasn't informed about that until their trash truck driver was screaming at me like it was the end of the world. Then we tried to have a guest come in and the front gate guy was so arrogant that he even threatened to call the cops because they were parked in the wrong parking spot while we tried to register them so they could come back to the site. To boot this place is so small I could throw a rock from one end to the other and they charge out the a$$ for everything. (No I'm not a cheap ass I don't mind spending money if it's worth it) No bikes after dark, pool and lake close early and you better not make a peep after 11pm. By the way this place is so exciting I'm still here trying to make the best of it but I'm writing this review, Get It. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE…
This was my family's first time camping and we had the best time ever! Big Timber Lake Camping Resort made everything easy - from registration, questions and signing out. We stayed in the cabin and it was way nicer than I would have imagined! 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom - all immaculately clean! There are so many activities to keep your family busy too! Fishing, Swimming pool, Organized activities like karaoke, fishing, mini golf, etc. People all over camp were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning and we'll bring more families!
