This was my family's first time camping and we had the best time ever! Big Timber Lake Camping Resort made everything easy - from registration, questions and signing out. We stayed in the cabin and it was way nicer than I would have imagined! 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom - all immaculately clean! There are so many activities to keep your family busy too! Fishing, Swimming pool, Organized activities like karaoke, fishing, mini golf, etc. People all over camp were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning and we'll bring more families!

I'd like to give a detailed review of what is no longer enjoyable at BTL, but it's just not worth the effort. I've had over 15 years of enjoyment at this campground...too many to list. It's been a while since I've visited, only to see the differences of what it's become. When this campground was family owned and operated by the Menz family, it was a great place to be. But like any business, regardless of its product line or services they offer, once sold to a corporate structure, everything becomes a shadow of what it was. If the newer patrons of BTL today, knew what it was like prior to the new ownership, they'd clearly camp elsewhere. If you love camping, whether it's at a ruff style setting, or a full "resort" campground, find those campgrounds with proud owners that continue to offer their hard work for family enjoyment. Independent owners are proud of their community involvement, and although they demand profitability from their work effort, there's no corporate investors to satisfy first. When the Menz family operated the campground, the patrons were first on the list, and simply put, you could "feel" it and you actually "wanted" to be part of the family of BTL campers. Search for those "family operated" campgrounds.

::CAUTION!:: This place is not worth the money! The customer service is atrocious! We got here with two little kids, in the rain and the keys didn’t work for either door. We finally get someone here and he acted like we were inconveniencing him, while we all huddle in the screen porch, freezing cold. When we finally get into the cottage, it’s not the layout we payed good money for. We are missing a bed and a tv, so we went to the office to ask them if we could get the correct cottage and they basically told us if we didn’t like it, we could go home. Everyone in our party had taken off work and traveled here, so it’s really disappointing to hear that, that was our only option. I mean, we were just asking to be put in the cottage we paid for! We made due and tried to make the best of the situation. My niece was so excited for the inflatable lake course and.... IT POPPED (no mention of that on their website and we’d been hyping her up for it). She wanted to go paddleboarding (the website she had to be 12), but then we were told she had to be 14. OKAY, so we leave the lake beach and try to take her zip lining. NOPE! They are done for the day at 1pm and tomorrow is all booked! They told us we should have booked it in advance at the office when we first got here.... which it didn’t mention on the website, OR the pamphlet, and was never mentioned by the staff. The staff at the front desk were SO RUDE that my niece left the office in tears. In no way did the staff try to make it right, they were just cold and callous to A TWELVE YEAR OLD CHILD! I wish I would have read the reviews before spending the money here. There are so many campgrounds in this area that we would have happily spent our money at if we would have known better. Well, now we know for next time and I hope the staff and management shape up and learn some customer service skills.

My family has been visiting BTL for 5 years. The first year (2015) was wonderful, however every year since has gone downhill - sulphur water, ants in the cabin, unfriendly staff. This year was the last straw. The women at the check in desk were rude and seemed unable to understand how the cabin was being paid for. The kids working at the lake are useless. I understand they are not lifeguards, but at least enforce the rules. People were fishing in the swimming lake, smoking on the beach inside the fenced area, throwing rocks in the swimming area and misusing the kayaks. All the while, the staff just sat there doing nothing. On Sunday, they decided to reinflate the obstacle course just minutes before the lake was to open. Why not the night before right after closing or an hour before opening? Once they were finished, they attempted to re-anchor it for all of 5 min. When they couldn't, they gave up. An extremely tiny sign was posted to the back of the lifeguard chair saying the obstacle course was closed. When some kids tried to use it (bc NO ONE would notice the tiny sign), the staff member rudely yelled at them. I finally went to the front office to complain to the manager and she had no idea there was even an issue. Shortly after, maintenace came out and told the staff to anchor the obstacle course and within 15 min it was back up and running. My children look forward to playing on that in the lake. For it not to be open bc the staff is lazy is unacceptable. This year we were assigned to a cabin that had rusty water. The water was so bad, it discolored my skin. Shower towels, a shower puff and a bracelet turned reddish brown as well. How the cleaning staff didn't notice the orange ring around the shower when they cleaned it prior to our arrival is beyond me. When I went to complain, a maintenance man was sent out and even he commented about how bad it was. It was temporarily fixed, but after a few showers, it was bad again. Most places would compensate visitors when their end of the bargain (clean water) is not met. Not at a Sun RV resort. Instead, I had to file an insurance claim and now I need to deal with a 3rd party lawyer firm. This is ridiculous! Good bye BTL!

We are truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We value your business and we appreciate your feedback. The water is well water and is often inconsistent depending on many factors of mother nature. Rest assured it is tested and perfectly healthy.
