My husband and I have stayed at the Virginia Hotel several times and have had a good to great experience. This time brought many disappointments. Strike 1: I received an email a few days before our stay asking if the concierge could do anything for us. I called because I had booked the Romance Package that came with a bottle of Champagne. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and he likes Chardonnay so I called and asked if we could make that switch which they said they could do. When we arrived there was a bottle of Champagne in the bucket. Not a big deal... Strike 2: Our Romance package also came with a plate of chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries. There were only chocolates on the plate which were very good. When I went into our bathroom to unload a few things, there were 3 strawberry stems in the trash can! Someone had been in our room and had eaten the strawberries!!! Strike 3: Our room (101) was extremely noisy! The outdoor seating for the restaurant was directly outside of the room along two walls. We could hear every conversation clearly. Also, there is a small banquet room across the hall from the room which was also noisy. Strike 4: When checking out, my husband was asked how our stay had been and he said that the room was very noisy. The response he received was, "Well some people like that room because there are no steps." That has nothing to do with the noise! Nor had we requested a room that did not require steps. Strike 5: When checking out we were told that we would be emailed the invoice showing the charges. We never received that email. I have no idea what we were charged for. MOST IMPORTANT STRIKE 6: A few days after our stay, we received an email asking how our stay had been. I wrote back about Strikes 1-3. I received no response. I decided to write to the manager, also outlining Strikes 1-3. I received no response. If I'm paying $400-500 a night, I would expect better. Just an acknowledgement that there were some issues would have been nice. The attention to detail and customer service is sorely lacking.

It was my 60 th birthday and we met friends for dinner at the Ebbitt Grille. Hotel room with a king size bed was clean, but we had to ask them to replace the duvet cover as it had holes in it when we checked in. When we booked the hotel we were invited to add details, and my husband noted it would be my 60th birthday. He also informed the Front Desk when we check in, then also the Wait Staff in the dining room. Not that we were expecting much, but It all fell on deaf ears. A glass of wine, a candle or something would have been nice, especially since we were invited to let them know. The hotel room isn’t very big but does come with a walk-in closet. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

We recently stayed at The Virginia and were very pleased. The service was excellent from the minute we checked in to our departure. There is valet parking as well as bell boy service so that made it easier as our room was on the third floor. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The beds and linens were comfortable and soft. The bathroom was large and the shower luxurious for a hotel. We also ate at The Ebbitt Room and had a scrumptious dinner. The portions are very large and tastesfully arranged. Our waiter Nick was very professional and friendly. My husband and I split the beet salad which was soooo good. I was surprised at the split portion! Very large. I had the Wagyu Beef Cheeks which just melted in my mouth. My husband had the salmon which he loved also. We were not able to have a dessert as we were too full. We definitely will be back to The Virgina to stay and make room to have a dessert!

As usual, our experience staying at The Virginia Hotel was exceptional. The customer service is incredible. Our dinner at The Ebbitt Room was incredible (it’s our favorite restaurant). The room and public areas of the hotel are spotless. They even thought about giving each guest a Easter basket which was outside our door on Easter Sunday morning. It’s the little things the management & staff think of which makes guests want to come back.

Getting away and stay at the Virginia was a much needed mini vacation! We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints! The rooms are cozy and everyone is so pleasant. A continental breakfast is served either in your room, porch, or in living room area. Stayed in the Virginia room and so enjoyed having a balcony which added to the relaxation! We have stayed at several places in Cape May and this is our very favorite! Great location and can pretty much park the car and leave it!!!!!!! Thanks to the staff for a much needed getaway!
