I had the great privilege of spending 1 night at Congress Hall. From the customer service to the thoughtful extras we received, everything was perfect. I can now see why so many people love it. We are locals and were given a 1 night stay as a gift and I so wish we could have stayed longer. We did not get to use all the amenities but I can't imagine them not being perfect. My favorite part was the surprise turn down service when we went to dinner. We came back at 9 and the shades were drawn, blankets rolled down, pillows fluffed, water bottles and glasses moved by our nightstands, and Bathrooms hung for display. Everything was clean and fresh. Thank you for an amazing memory. I now see all the hype around Congress Hall and will recommend it to anyone that ask.

The resort is clean, the rooms, the pool, etc. This resort is close to everything, and the food is great. The beach is clean, the bike rentals are next door, and the Washington mall and restaurants are within walking distance.

Our annual trip to Congress Hall was excellent. I was most impressed with the staff - they are well trained and plentiful. The Brown Room was a particular treat with just the right kind and volume of music and a beautiful environment. Congress Hall is pricey but it is an all-so-enjoyable splurge.

Just returned from lovely vacation at Congress Hall and Cape May. . I had wonderful time swimming and relaxing I usually get around, meeting friends for brunch, exploring biking, etc. but this trip was totally pool and beach oriented. I feel like I’m taking the cure when I go down there, as soon as my car goes over the bridge.. I always meet great people and make new friends there. Congress Hall is set up for enjoyment with a wonderful accommodating staff and terrific facilities. Just a nice experience. I think this was my sixth time at Congress Hall since the big renovation. The soothing yellow 19th century building is a big draw for me in the early morning. I love the espresso at Tommy’s Folly, the green salad at The Blue Pig, cocktails at the Virginia,

We had a wonderful anniversary celebration vacation at Congress Hall. I’ve been to Cape May many times throughout the years, and have always wanted to stay here. I did read the reviews and was surprised at some of the negativity, although it had no bearing on making our reservation. I rarely write reviews, but after our stay, I made it a point to come here and give my feedback. People that complained about nicked woodwork, wear and tear, uneven floors, etc. are obviously not well travelled. Congress Hall is over 200 years old! We prefer to stay at historic hotels, to experience the character and charm you will not find anywhere else. We were all over the facility… pool, pool bar, veranda bar, Brown Room, Blue Pig, Boiler Room, and the coffee shop. At no point in time was anything dirty, worn out or dilapidated. In regards to people complaining about noise, well first of all, Congress Hall doesn’t hide the fact that there are bars, live music, activities, weddings, and large outdoor areas for people to congregate. Again, the place is 200+ years old, you’re not going to find soundproofing between the walls, floors and ceilings. Yes, even the windows are old. I am a very light sleeper, my husband says I can wake up from hearing a gnat fart. I slept perfectly. There was a small fan in our closet that we simply turned on at night and we heard nothing! So, in a nutshell, Congress Hall is amazing. From the food, drinks, the attentiveness of the crew that cleaned our room, to the overall atmosphere… if you appreciate history and having a fun, but relaxing vacation, don’t hesitate to check it out!

The hotel has everything. It is quaint with a wonderful history. It is central to Cape May shopping, restaurants and the beach (tags included) all within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable with nice furniture, good bedding and a well stocked bathroom with plenty of amenities including bath robes and an umbrella. The internet service was stable and secure. The television worked with plenty of channels. The a/c was comfortable. The parking lot had plenty of spaces for the guests without additional charges and a valet service was available if you preferred it.. There were good restaurants on site. There was an inside and outside bar. There were shops available on the first floor to buy clothing and other items. There was a nice coffee shop on the first floor that had sandwiches, baked goods, snacks and news papers. The grounds had a very spacious lawn with plenty of tables and chairs to sit and relax in while enjoying the view of the Atlantic Ocean and beaches across the street.

My fiancee ordered a hard mint lemonade and it was refreshing and not too sweet. I ordered a blood orange martini and it was good. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere! There was nice music playing in the background. Just across from the beach, this place is worth another visit.

I tried to solve a simple problem, One of the employees accused me of something serious and started to mess with me, called front desk manager Jessica Brady. She didn't even want to listen to me, she was totally partial from the moment she looked at me. I tried to talk and they treated me like an animal. They accused me of something I didn't do, not at all. I asked her to be biased, and even though I didn't even bring it up, she came to tell me that it's not her fault my parents aren't white. They humiliated me. Like I'm not worthy of being heard. The first employee totally uncontrolled. I contacted the hotel for more details, but if the whole hotel is also partial and doesn't listen to me, as well as the front desk manager, just justice. I know the hotel is very traditional, but I’m human and pay the same thing here as everyone, and I never I disrespected anyone.

Loved most everything about our stay at Congress Hall. This historic property allows you to momentarily step back in time by whiling away the hours rocking (and perhaps swilling!) on their beautiful veranda. The location is perfect to all that Cape May has to offer. Easy beach access and great restaurants/shops are literally right outside the front door. Our room was spacious and tastefully appointed. Loved the large windows that offered an amazing view of the ocean. Bed was very comfortable, good towels, the robes were a nice touch, and good bath products. Common areas, restaurant, bars, and the pool were all very nice. The service was mixed. Front desk and pool bartenders were great. Blue Pig servers were pleasant but not the most efficient. Valet and beach guys seemed like they were ready for the season to end. One thing I didn't like was the very competitive pricing. Quality and a prime location surely don't come cheap. But at nearly $1,100 a night...makes me think twice about booking for next summer. This hotel is surely upscale; but not luxury. One other sticking point was the room access time. In fairness, they make it crystal clear that rooms aren't available until 4PM. However, I asked twice if we could get in a bit earlier given that we have young kids. They texted me at 3:56PM that our room was ready. Disappointing. Overall, a very good stay at one of Cape May’s premier properties.

We have always loved Congress Hall and finally stayed here! The poolside service was excellent and the servers hustled to accommodate everyone even in 95 degree heat! Max, a pool concierge, went above & beyond for our entire family! The beach service was also excellent and the staff set up our chairs & umbrellas as soon as we arrived. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are extremely clean! The cafe, restaurants and shops provides something for all! The bellman unpacked & packed our car which was a nice surprise for my husband. A perfect stay!
