We stayed at Congress Hall on a very rainy and cold memorial day weekend right after the COVID restrictions were lifted for wearing masks if you are vaccinated. The rooms were kept very clean and the service was good. The hotel is older and has charm using keys versus key cards but that didn't bother us given the cleanliness and service. Also the beds were so comfortable. The location is great and I loved how they texted you before our stay to make sure we had reservations for dinner and breakfast and texted during our stay with the activities that were going on. My only issue was the number of people crammed into the lobby and seating areas given COVID I felt that they should have enforced some distancing. Overall a great stay and plan to come again when we can enjoy the warm weather.

In their defense, Congress Hall and other Cape May business rely heavily on international students for their summer help. As the local pizza shop owner told me "we need the international help because Americans are lacy and spoiled". Covid has created a labor shortage. However(of course), the pool heater was not working the entire week, when air and water temps weren't favorable. There was no food available between 2 and 4 anywhere at Congress Hall and our air conditioning want working 3 of the 5 nights. They were accommodating and did all they could to help, but if you are understaffed, then maybe you should lower capacity?

This place smacks with charm, but it’s become a wedding factory. Communal spaces are filled with anxious bridesmaids & photographers. Room balcony provides breathtaking views, but also of loud drunken wedding guests in the courtyard. DJ music pumps until 10pm. Staff is helpful, but they all looked stressed out with so many weddings always rolling through. It’s really not a great vibe or environment for families. We usually stay at the Sandpiper with the kids, but the pool is under construction.

If you can even imagine that a super old hotel (they still use real keys) can feel fresh and perfected. This place does the trick. Gorgeous rooms and a spotless. Really comfortable bed with soft gorgeous sheets. Incredible service from the second you park your car. The front desk staff is lovely and accommodating. The outside veranda takes your breath away with tons of wooden rockers. The outdoor bar is perfection on the veranda and the blood orange martini is superb. Make reservations for dining. Lots of choices here for both indoor and outdoor dining. This hotel is right in front of the beach and walking distance to everything you need in Cape May. It's a must visit to a perfect get away.

Room Tip: I had a town view room on the 3rd floor and it was perfect. I'd love to stay in an ocean...

Very nice resort , very clean with many food choices. Grounds are well kept. Very expensive then they charge for a bottle of water in the room and bike rentals which should be included, feel like they squeeze you for every penny. Sandy in the Brown Room Bar is best employee I have ever run into in all my travels, hope the resort appreciates her.
