We have always loved Congress Hall and finally stayed here! The poolside service was excellent and the servers hustled to accommodate everyone even in 95 degree heat! Max, a pool concierge, went above & beyond for our entire family! The beach service was also excellent and the staff set up our chairs & umbrellas as soon as we arrived. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are extremely clean! The cafe, restaurants and shops provides something for all! The bellman unpacked & packed our car which was a nice surprise for my husband. A perfect stay!

It is in a nice location. They closed the pool at 5 o'clock, they said because of a wedding. The next day same thing, but no wedding. We waited over an hour for towels at the pool. Understaffed. Two mornings in a row, a homeless man was sleeping inside on a couch outside the bar.

Our 4th consecutive summer and 5th time overall coming for a week and once again blown away, from the staff to the service (all around) this is always a place close to our family. Our kids love it (5 year old) (16 month old) and we love it! Every year we bring more people to the property and they love it! Everything about this place is amazing. Location is spectacular, the views the amenities! The only reason why I gave it 4 and not 5 was we were in a townside room and for whatever reason the music from The boiler room dj was so loud that our kids couldn’t sleep. When I tried to address it with the desk (they were very polite about it) but was basically told deal with it until 1am. So next year if we go no chance I am staying until Saturday unless this gets fixed because I could understand if we stayed in the south wing but townside to hear that, WOW!

When you have a price point of $850 plus fees and taxes, there is a lot to live up to. Room was average, it was clean, nice bed linens, small bath, only had 1 bath towel, no wash cloths and 2 had towels, squeaky bed. Common areas showed signs of wear and tear. Ordered drinks and snacks poolside. Could taste no liquor in any of our 3 drinks, food came prepackaged in plastic containers that you would purchase in a gas station (Wawa) for 3 times the price. Breakfast in blue pig, was average, scrambled eggs were dry, bacon was the highlight of our meal. When Congress Hall overprices the value quotient for the property and inflates prices because they can, it makes the customer feel taken advantage of and disinterested in returning. At a respectable rate, Congress Hall can have a better to meet customer expectations and receive return business,

Congress hall is something indescribable. The grounds and hotel are beyond stunning. You feel like you’re in Newport RI. The restaurant blue big is excellent. The double room town view is large, clean, and beautiful. The service on the beach and at the pool is great. You don’t need to lift a finger coming here. The ladies at check in are super helpful and so is the concierge. Even the valet drivers are great. The location is unbeatable. Right across from the outdoor shops. I would stay here again and again. We are foodies and have stayed at some of the best hotels. This is definitely one of them. Grab a coffee across the street at the magic brain cafe or in the lobby of the hotel. Both great. Walk around the mall or even on the beach. Super safe and clean.

I was not a guest at the hotel but just went in for drinks before dinner at the adjoining restaurant. The bar is lovely, but the service is strange. They let us come in just before their opening at 4:00 P.M. Our orders were simple due to their continuing prep for opening. We asked for a drinks menu for the next round. After ordering one of their specialty drinks, the young man bartender (forget the name) prepared the drink and then proceeded to pour the drink and then he drank the remainder of the drink out of the cocktail shaker, and also licked the spoon. We then saw this behavior repeated after making several drinks for an adjoining party. He also lectured us on various bourbons, stating that only Jim Beam and Maker's Mark did any distilling, and all others purchased from them. When we told him we had been on the Bourbon Trail and knew better, he dismissed us. Very strange behavior for a beautiful place.

Waiting for the restaurant to open on June 7th, friends and I went to the bar. I saw the male bartender do something I’ve never seen before. Twice he mixed cocktails in a shaker. After he poured the drink in a glass, he drank what was left in the shaker directly from the shaker in front of the customers. A short time later he did the same again. Then he mixed an old Fashioned for a customer. After having all the ingredients in the glass, he stirred it with a long bar spoon. Then he put the end of the bar spoon in his mouth. Again out in the open in front of customers. This is a pretty nice place but this bartender should be shown the door.

We stayed at the Congress Hall for our anniversary, and were continually blown away by the helpfulness and promptness of hotel staff. We arrived early, but our room was already ready. We locked our keys in our room and were quickly helped to get back in. They even left us a nice gift for our anniversary in our room! The staff throughout the premise were just as helpful and accommodating as the front desk staff, inclusive of the Blue Pig servers and pretty much every bar on the premise. Looking forward to returning here again.

The staff was great, the general facilities were great, the room was, singularly, the worst I’ve stayed in during the last 20 years. Horrible. Situated above a bunch of mechanical equipment, it was so loud at night that I felt like we were sleeping on an airport tarmac. Irresponsible to not give us a warning!!! No way will we stay here again. At 1/3 of the price it wouldn’t be worth the money.

Had a little bit of confusion between Tripadvisor and Congress Hall itself. The gentleman who took my call regarding the reservation as well as a contact in upper management were both patient in resolving my questions and portrayed a high level of customer service!
