Travelers' Choice
Recently awarded the 2019 Travelers Choice Award for B&B's & Inns by Trip Advisor as the #1 bed and breakfast in Cape May, NJ, and #1 in New Jersey, The Mission Inn Bed and Breakfast is not your typical Cape May B&B. We invite you to experience the charm of a California Spanish Mission Style Bed and Breakfast just one block from the beach. You will find The Mission Inn rooms to be bright, airy, tastefully decorated, creative and restful places for the weary traveler as was the purpose of the original California missions. Each guest room is themed after one of the missions, with artistic murals and accents designed to resemble the original mission. Guests also enjoy a full gourmet breakfast, an afternoon happy hour, and complimentary beach service during the summer months. Book one of our 8 Rooms before they fill up! We are an Inn for all seasons and open all year round.

My husband and I returned today from a three-night stay at The Mission Inn. We were looking for a safe and peaceful getaway during these stressful times. The Mission Inn and lovely Cape May delivered in spades. The Inn is charming, immaculate, and in a great location. But as others have said, the owners, Laura and Wendy, are what set it apart. From my first e-mail correspondence to the warm greeting upon arrival, to the recommendations of where to bike and eat it is clear the ladies are interested in guests enjoying themselves. And, the cherry on the top was the breakfast they served each morning--fresh and delicious. We loved our stay, and we will be back!

My wife and I just returned from yet another wonderful vacation to Cape May and 3 night stay at The Mission Inn. We have come to expect excellence at this spectacular Bed and Breakfast, but this year (ominous music in the background) is unusual and historic. In fact, whilst we had booked our stay “pre-COVID19” we waffled back and forth for a while as to whether to go on the vacation, or postpone and go in “safer” times. In advance, we read all of the precautions that the innkeepers, Wendy and Laura, were taking and decided to go ahead with our plans. I am happy that we did. To say that Wendy and Laura are taking things seriously is an understatement. They are diligent and vigilant at creating a safe atmosphere for the guests; things are kept meticulously clean. There are also wipes and sanitizer readily available for the guests. Acknowledging guests potential concerns, they have even provided individually wrapped and portioned snacks and hors d’oeuvres, instead of the previously “communal” method. What hasn’t changed is the beauty of the inn, the quality of the breakfasts and the eagerness with which Wendy and Laura seek to enhance your visit to Cape May. In fact, they were very helpful in guiding us to restaurants that are also doing a good job in the current challenging world of outdoor, socially distanced dining. A FIVE star experience.

We were booked to stay at the Mission Inn in May 2020, but due to covid-19 and our being in the high risk category we had to cancel our reservation. Wendy and Laura were incredible helping us find a new date as soon as covid-19 restrictions permitted staying at the inn. They explained all the precautions they were taking making us feel safe staying at the Mission Inn. When we arrived in early June Wendy & Laura met us at the door and gave us a tour of the beautiful inn. We knew immediately we made the right choice and were going to be safe there. All the reviews that are posted on the Mission Inn web site are so true and express what a wonderful place it is. We loved our stay so much before we left we booked another weekend stay for this December. Walter & Carol

I wouldn't care where the Mission Inn was located - its the star of the show! Cape May is a lovely place, with wonderful eateries and a lovely beach, but the most fantastic part of the trip is the Inn!!! The wonderful proprietors, the attention to detail, the terrific surroundings, the personalized service , ALL first rate - it's the kind of place you always want to come back to, again and again and again.

We've been to The Mission Inn many times. This year we celebrated our 50th Anniversary there & as usual it was great. Wendy & Laura keep this place meticulously clean; decorated beautifully & they are always so helpful about places to go & restaurants to eat at. Since Covid 19 is an issue this year, they wore masks & sanitized everything & had sanitizers around to use. They had chairs & umbrellas for the guests to use this year (since they did not provide beach service this year, because it is handled by a third party). Each day they sanitized the chairs & umbrellas, as well as the bikes they offer their guests. Leslie also was masked & served her usual delicious breakfasts each day. Breakfast is served outside on the veranda & is just beautiful & relaxing. Although they were unable to offer their afternoon snacks buffet style, they provided each guest with a snack box each afternoon. They continued to have beer, wine & soft drinks available in the frig, as well as other snacks. Leslie's delicious cookies were individually wrapped for the guests to help themselves to throughout the day. The rooms of course are gorgeous & there is a beautiful peaceful sitting area in the back with comfy chairs, double swing & a fireplace. You will not be disappointed with The Mission Inn & it definitely deserves to be Number 1. We already have reservations for next summer. Linda & Phil
