#1 of 37 B&Bs / Inns in Cape May
Travelers' Choice
The Mission Inn Bed and Breakfast is not your typical Cape May B&B. We invite you to experience the charm of a California Spanish Mission Style Bed and Breakfast just one block from the beach. You will find The Mission Inn rooms to be bright, airy, tastefully decorated, creative and restful places for the weary traveler as was the purpose of the original California missions. Each guest room is themed after one of the missions, with artistic murals and accents designed to resemble the original mission. Guests also enjoy a full gourmet breakfast, an afternoon happy hour, and complimentary beach service during the summer months. Book one of our 8 Rooms before they fill up! We are an Inn for all seasons and open all year round.

The Mission Inn far exceeded my expectations! As a longtime visitor to Cape May, I had wanted to stay at this inn ever since I first toured it during one the Christmas Open Houses…each time I’d leave saying that I just had to book a stay. Due to Covid in 2020, I had to postpone the visit and was finally able to go for a fall getaway with my husband. The friendly, detailed welcome email as well as the telephone call the day before were just the start of a wonderful experience. We were warmly greeted by Wendy, one of the innkeepers, and given a thorough tour of the inn. Our room, the San Francisco de Asis, on the second floor was a WOW…so luxurious, beautifully decorated, super clean, and very cozy. The breakfasts were delicious and served with such style. The happy hour snacks and beverages were yummy, too…especially the signature oatmeal cookies! I could go on and on about all of the wonderful treats that await once you enter the front door. Many, many thanks to Wendy & Laura for making the visit a memorable one!

Such an amazing stay on the second floor in the San Francisco de Asis. Beautifully decorated with tasteful murals. Breakfast was more than I expected and daytime snacks really hit the spot. The backyard garden is a great place to wind down at the end of the day. Very friendly staff and very accommodating.

I have stayed at the Mission Inn several times, most recently for a "Sisters Weekend." We could not have asked for a better experience. Wendy and Laura are friendly, fun, and full of knowledge about beautiful Cape May. The San Juan de Bautista room accommodated four ladies quite comfortably. We were surprised that housekeeping was not straightening up our room during the day, but that might have been a Covid precaution. We were able to get clean towels, easily, so this wasn't a problem. We enjoyed relaxing in the common areas, too, both inside and outside. Snacks and wine were always available, and there were comfortable places to sit and play games. Breakfast on the veranda was a special event, as it always is at the Mission Inn. Chef Leslie made a Tex-Mex dish one morning and a Belgian waffle the other morning. Each breakfast also included delicious fresh fruit with the Inn's specialty vanilla yogurt, and several other treats. You will never go hungry! Wendy made dinner reservations for us in advance, based on our preferences, and both experiences were excellent. She even arranged for Cape May Free Ride to transport us there. (It was a pleasant walk back home each night.) The Inn is an easy walk from the beach, boardwalk, and multiple restaurants and shops, and it's a short drive to other places of interest, such as the lighthouse. We had perfect weather for our stay, but even if it had rained all weekend, my sisters and I would have had a wonderful time hanging out at the Mission Inn.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the second floor of the San Juan Batista room. The Inn has a very cozy atmosphere and we felt very relaxed during our stay there. We can’t wait to return to enjoy the outstanding breakfasts and the remarkable welcoming personalities of Wendy and Laura. These ladies dedicate their time and effort to the enjoyment and comfort of all their guests. Hope to see you all soon and thank you so much!

Unique B&B with elegantly painted rooms and top-notch breakfasts and snacks. Always a warm and welcoming stay. Comfortable and well ventilated common areas- living rooms from it's past as a residence- with lots of amenities. I think I've reached 200 characters now.
