We planned a weekend trip to Cape May from Baltimore with our dog, and long story short, we ended up leaving Highland House at 2 a.m. after laying in bed listening to barking dogs and an arguing couple through very thin walls. Our room didn't even have a fire detector, which was disconcerting. Driving for hours in the middle of...

I visited the Highland House with my mother who came from Germany. It was my mother's 75th birthday. I picked the b&b because it looked charming and we were able to bring our dog. I stayed many weekends in Cape May but never with our dog and this was our first time. I was rather excited to bring him along....

My husband and I visited Cape May along with my mother-in-law and 2 dogs in August 2016 during an extreme heat wave (near 100 each day). We stayed in the Blue and Burgandy rooms which are on the 2nd floor and share a bathroom. This is an older home so it has all the expected quirks and charm of an...

My parents stayed here for their 40th wedding anniversary. The owner, David, helped me treat my parents to an extra special weekend while they were there. It is clean, friendly, and the staff is super helpful. The best part was my parents could bring their dog. My dad loves his dog and he was so happy to take his dog...

Highland House is the perfect place to stay in Cape May if you vacation with your dogs. It's a very friendly place, well located and convenient to everything. Everyone at the house ( guests and managers ) are friendly and accommodating.

From the hosts to the guests and grounds, it was a perfect homey vacation for us and our dog. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. There is plenty of gated space for the dogs to do their business. The room (the smallest there I think) was quaint and lovely, just big enough for two & a half. and opened onto a huge...

We just returned from a lovely weekend at Highland House with our 7mo golden retriever. Considering the reasonable rates and pet-friendly policy I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the inn. It's abundantly clear that the staff work diligently to keep the rooms fresh. They were friendly without being intrusive, and prepared a yummy, hot breakfast each...

Place is very clean and vintage. You feel like you are visiting a relative when staying here. Rooms are different sizes. Two I think have a kitchen. Have brought our dog with us....no problem. Pet friendly ! Home style breakfast.....always good. A bot of a walk to town center, but doable.

First of all, the good. Jenny and Mary Ellen, the two wonderful ladies who run this place during the week, were terrific. If we needed something, they responded quickly and with a smile. They cooked and served a wonderful breakfast every day. Which brings me to the bad. The Highland House website states that coffee and tea are available every...

Hi Perry, Thank you so much for your review of the Highland House. I'm sorry to hear that you and Nancy were disappointed with your visit. My apologies to the two of you for causing you to purchase breakfast groceries prior to your stay. Earlier in the season I decided to serve a lighter selection during the busy season but...
