Really comfortable rooms, a nice pool with live music, an excellent breakfast restaurant, and prime beach location with good service at the beach, beach tags, access, and confortable lounge chairs and beach side food service- all included. Nice family crowd to boot.

Third time to Cape May, we had previously stayed in the Icona Diamond beach and the Sandpiper. We were traveling with our toddler so we needed a bathtub, which only comes with the wetbar suite. Room came with small fridge, complimentary coffee and outside sink. There is one tv in each room and the remotes are wrapped in a plastic bag. Housekeeping is available daily unless you don’t want it. The breakfast from sea salt is take out only, but only took 20 minutes in the morning for cooked items. We didn’t go to the pool as it seemed like it was very busy, but the beach is right across the street and beach tags are included as part of your stay. Thankfully there are no additional resort fees (typical with Icona) and there is spacious free parking behind the hotel (teeny tiny lot with assigned spots if you stay at the sandpiper).

Just be careful when out and about as we noticed many people congregating outside bars and restaurants without masks on. Even with outdoor dining we felt the tables were still too close together. If you do stay here, you can check out Quincy’s lobster rolls, Magic Brain cafe, Peace pie, beach plum farm (serves breakfast and lunch outdoors) and the trails around the lighthouse. Enjoy!!

Hotel is nice, but not worth $500/night! The bathroom is tiny. The shower is so small, it has a half wall. The water just pours onto the floor. Its impossible to turn the shower on without getting wet. You have to reach in, and turn it on and the cold water instantly hits you until it eventually warms up. Its not a huge deal, but I expect better for $500 a night.

They never cleaned our room and said most people prefer no cleanings because of COVID-19. I said we would like cleaning and they told us we would have to leave the room from 5pm-6pm so they could clean it. I told them just clean it tomorrow. And they never came again. When I called, they said “ most people prefer no cleaning “. I guess that is how they are saving money.

When I checked in, they asked if I wanted a refrigerator. I thought it was an odd question. When I got my bill, I saw that they charged me $10/day for the fridge!!!! I never heard of that.

Pool is nice. Get there early (9am) to save your seats. Hotel has a great view of the beach, but there are better places where they dont nickel and dime you.

When I talked to the staff about the bathroom, they said no one has complained about it before.

I had room 511. Ask to see a photo! And dont get the fridge!

My husband&I visited this place as a visitor of the tiki bar- the vibe and service was excellent we decided on our next trip down to capemay(we frequently visit capemay) we would actually be guests @ this hotel rather than visitors. WHAT A MISTAKE & waste of $$. 1st day-our room had a women's nail on a washcloth in the bathroom when we called down to advise them that they treated us like jerks and liars blaming us for not having a picture. Meanwhile we gave the washcloth to their employee who could careless.2nd day toilet doesn't work properly, we told them again more our problem then theirs they never came to fix it. Told us they did, but they didn't. 3rd day come to the room from a day @ the beach to hair caught in between the bathroom towels this time we took a pic but they sent someone up with new towels and no care about removing the current towels with the hair - we left them there. So good luck if u get that room. The staff is not trained properly on how to deal with guest issues and property handling stuff. They assume bc they replace towels we should of been thankful. For the $ it cost to stay there I would aspect better treatment. Not to feel degraded because their is a problem with my room. . The hotel did nothing to try and put us at ease especially during Corona time they just advised us "it's in the notes" but u got new towels. . It's absurd.. awful place. The bartenders are great and the beach service is fantastic BUT you can enjoy that without dealing with there expensive fees and rude I don't give a damn attitude.. we just wanted a nice relaxing stay in cape may and got exact opposite at this place. Stay away from here

I will never stay here again. The amount of money they are charging for below average standard of service is unacceptable. Three times I was unable to get in my room because of a dead battery in the door mechanism. They knew the battery was dead after the first attempt to get in the room and it should have been taken care of after the first time.... not after several attempts in one day. The maintenance staff knew we would not be able to open the door to our room after it not being fixed the first time. The furniture in the room was also very dated. Staff friendly.

This was our 3rd stay here in the past 5 years. As always, it was terrific! Room was clean, staff was very helpful and upbeat, and you can't beat the location! We arrived early and were able to park our car and go directly to the pool before check-in. The pool and tiki bar (with live music during the afternoon) are terrific and the bar, pool and wait staff were both friendly and extremely efficient. The hotel provides beach passes, lounge chairs and towels and for a mere $10 we rented a beach umbrella each day. The beach attendant was sooo helpful in setting us up each day and the waitresses from the hotel will bring food and drinks across the street to the beach. The in house restaurant was very good and we had breakfast there 2 out of 3 mornings. All in all, it was a great visit and we would definitely stay there again!

The ocean front room was nice and clean and quite roomy, albeit overpriced. There is no room service or other accommodations that would be expected when paying over $600 per night. We got 2 regular coffee pods that were never replaced during our 3-night stay. The front desk manager wouldn't allow for a later (1 extra hour) check-out even though we were told the night before that the hotel was at less than half capacity the following day. The location is good-fairly close to Washington Street shopping and the beach is across the street. We walked quite a bit. We did eat at their restaurant and the food was delicious. I am giving the hotel 3 stars because of the price and the lack of accommodations we received during our stay.

We just came back from 2 days for our Annv. This is a lovely hotel. We stayed on penthouse floor full ocean view. Only thing is beds are very high and hard. Sunday was very busy. Not a lot of social distancing going on or mask wearing
Management does all it can. Some people are just idots. If you like just relaxing on balcony with drinks overlooking the ocean u will enjoy yourself. Few shops were open. Beach is open. But again watch the distancing. Summer this year is going to be very different. You can refuse daily maid service if you want. They will give you clean towels to cut down on contact.

We stayed three nights in mid June 2020, while hotel was operating at 60% capacity and Cape May was mostly closed due to coronavirus. Hotel was clean and masks required, most guests complied. Pool filled but no swimming allowed, Sea Salt restaurant open for pick up only. Our ocean facing balcony room suite was comfortable, living room and bathroom could use an update but bedroom was great and balcony doors open wide to the oceanfront. Great stay.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in which it served it’s purpose, close to the beach and has a pool.
A beach hotel, ok we get it standards are not going to be the same. However, when paying $550 a night for a full service hotel you expect a little extra, there has to be standard in service which unfortunately we found to be lacking.
The Thursday & Friday we stayed generally was no problem, however the last day on Saturday was nothing short of a disaster. Issues at the tiki bar were not addressed after multiple couples raising them. There is a significant difference when ordering yourself at the bar and when it is table service.
We booked into the hotel restaurant on Saturday night which was nothing short of a complete disaster. An hour and a half later our dinner had to be returned twice due to poor food quality, our server informed the restaurant manager of the issue repeatedly who only compensated my meal and I left hungry with no meal after a two hour wait. Completely unacceptable. If the hotel restaurant does not have a proper chef it should not be opened.
The hotel staff had no interest in discussing any of our issues upon check out this morning after they were raised.
