The room, bathroom, and balcony were clean and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant, staff had masks on and I felt were very considerate of our welfare. Bed was comfortable, enough blankets and pillows provided. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.
They are not telling you the hot tub is not avail. And if they try and put you in 14 or 15...beware the walls are paper thin. Two Stars is a good rating. We won't stay again though. They reluctantly gave us a couple of extra towels. Clean oddly layed out room the TV was so far away we realy couldn't watch it. Oh and did I mention the walls in 14/15 are paper thin..it was horrible.
Unfortunately, I will not stay at the Nootka Lodge again. Room had an overwhelming smell of air freshener that made me feel sick...had to open doors and windows to air out. Furniture was torn and badly stained. The bed was horrible, blankets had holes and tears in them and the mattress had to be 50 years old; I sunk in the middle of it and the springs were louder than the tv when I moved. The parking lot was busy and noisy with many dirt bikes at night. The only thing that was nice, was the staff; they were very friendly and polite!
I stayed at Nootka Lodge for an overnight stay while attending the motorcycle training course. The room was nice and clean. The AC worked wonderfully, I even had to turn it down before I went to bed. I have knees problems and my room was on the second floor; however, the considerate front desk lady was nice enough to make sure to tell me to drive around the side and there was a walkway to the upper floor and I did not have to climb the stairs. There were plenty of evidence that there were a lot of people staying at the Lodge, but I did not have any issues with noise. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I am ever in the area.
The Nootka Lodge was cozy and comfortable. Cannot beat the cost or location. We had a late check in 11 pm on a stormy nice after going to the Ice Castles. I had called ahead of time and was very impressed that there was someone at the front desk that time of night. It was almost as if she waited for us. In fact, I booked a family room for my son and his family visiting Ice Castles on 2/28.
