We stayed for a weekend at the Wilderness Inn. The Alaska Suite was great, and very comfortable. This is one of their larger rooms. It had a queen size bed, 4 poster cannon ball bed, which had a good mattress and was very comfortable. There was also a small room with bunk beds. Helpful for clothes storage, or would be good for kids. The bathroom was roomy and had a nice jet-whirpool tub. The gas fireplace was a very nice feature, which got the room cozy warm. There is also a back porch with a seating area, which was too cold to enjoy. A full hot breakfast was served, with very tasty with 5 different made-to-order choices (omelette with choice of veggies, pancakes, crepes, fresh fruit, cerial). You need to sign up for your time slot the night. before, since they only serve 3 tables at a time. Just an FYI in. case you are on a tight schedule. There is also tea and hot chocolate available after breakfast hours The inn keepers seemed very nice and welcoming. On our second day Karen, one of the owners gave us a nice history of the hotel. The Inn is charming, very clean, and the furnishings are comfy. Our room was very quiet. We didn't hear a peep from the street noise or neighboring guests. There is wi-fi. Our room didn't have a desk, so it is best for a vacation or weekend get away. The Inn is about 3 or 4 miles to Loon Mountain, and right off route 93. So very convenient to ski country. I would highly recommend the Wilderness Inn and would return the next time I am in the area.…
My fiancée and I had the most wonderful 5 night stay at The Wilderness Inn. The Inn is impeccably clean and quiet. Alan, a trained chef, has the best breakfast offerings each day, and Karen is a wealth of knowledge about the area. She was very helpful in answering our myriad of questions! I would highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity. The Franconia Ridge is close by, as well there are really good restaurants in both North Woodstock and nearby Lincoln.
The owners were very nice, check-in was very easy and Covid safe. The breakfast was included and very good, lots of options to chose from. The Inn was easy to find and centrally located to everything. The room was quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at The Wilderness Inn. First visit there and was so glad we gave it a try. Our room was spotless clean and so comfortable. The innkeepers Alan and Karen were great. The breakfast choices were delicious and so organized. Great spot in the White Mountains. Close to Loon and Cannon Mountains. We’ve discovered our new home away from home. Will definitely be going back.
My wife and I were visiting Ice Castles On Tues. 2/1/22 and stayed overnight at The Wilderness Inn B&B. We were supposed to stay in the Rhode Island room but were upgraded to the New Hampshire Room. The room was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable. The interior of the B&B has been updated but retains the charm of the Art Deco style of house from the 1920s . I found myself at home sitting on the comfy chair in the living room. Chess and checker boards were set out for use by visitors. Breakfast was deliciously satisfying having been given a choice of juices, muffins, omelettes, pancakes, french toast etc. We enjoyed our brief, but pleasant, stay and look forward to returning when we have an opportunity to visit Woodstock NH again in the future.
The quaint rooms are very clean and very comfortable with private baths, TV, WIFI. Breakfasts are awesome. The owners are very friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Staying there makes you feel like you are with friends. It was a wonderful experience.
Very nice inn on edge of White Mountains National Forest on west end of Hwy 112. Ideal for fall color viewing trips. Inn is clean and comfortable, not fancy but more rustic, which suits the area. Innkeepers were very nice and knowledgeable about local attractions and restaurants. Breakfasts were delicious.
Very clean, comfortable, and awesome breakfasts! We stayed here for 3 nights while in the Franconia Notch area. The breakfasts were very filling. Alan and Karen are friendly and helpful. The Inn is close to other places to eat for dinner. The fall leaf color was so beautiful, and the mountain top peaks were amazing. We hiked Mt. Moosilauke, Mt. Osceola, Lonesome Lake, and Mt. Lincoln and Lafayette loop the four days we stayed in the area. The Inn was close to all these area's. We ended our week in the Crawford Notch area and hiked Mt. Washington (via Tuckerman Ravine/Lions Head) and ended the last day going up Mt. Eisenhower. We had great weather and an utterly exhausting week!
Stop looking for a place to stay within a 30 minute radius of the West White Mts., it’s that good! Clean (very), comfortable (very), quiet (very), friendly? You bet! Want a gourmet breakfast? Included! A quaint living room with a fire place, covered. How about some pretty cool and delicious restaurants within a 3 minute walk? Yup! I gotta stop this review. Just go there! Cheerio! Ernie and Jean Sept 18th, 2021.
We stayed 3 nights and were very pleased with this B&B. Breakfasts were exceptional and quite ample. We did not need lunch after these tasty and filling meals. We were in walking distance of Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train, for which we had reservations for one night. We were also in comfortable driving distance of Franconia for scenery and North Conway for shopping.
