DO NOT get married here. It is not worth your time or money until new ownership/management. My wife and I had an enormous amount of stress and anxiety leading up to the wedding day and while we can say the day itself went off without any issues, it was due to us hiring a wedding coordinator 3 weeks out to ensure our day was what we envisioned (even though the Inn bills itself as having an onsite wedding coordinator as part of their package). Here are the cliff notes – read on for the full review • All communication was one sided – we initiated all calls, meetings, and emails • Staff is very unresponsive, often going weeks without a response (if we ever received one) o Some questions were not even answered o Emails (if responded to) would only address one or two questions, not any of the others we had asked o Calls were not answered and voicemails never returned • Wedding Coordinator (our second as the first left) was condescending, rude, arrogant and we felt like we were always inconveniencing her • Information provided by us (in person, over the phone and through emails) was never captured, leading us to have the same conversations repeatedly • Rooms were not clean the two times we stayed ahead of our wedding, with reports from guests on some cleanliness issues (trash in rooms, mold on shower curtains, heat/AC not working) • Rentals we brought in got lost by the Inn and we now must pay for the replacements • Escalations to general management were ignored until we finally escalated to corporate (their holding company) • Our wedding start time, meals and numbers had to be corrected multiple times – with some numbers still not correct 2 weeks out Here is a recap of just one meeting with our second coordinator (in March 22’ – 4 months out) • She was 30 mins late • She was unprepared, and details already given to her were never documented • She put-down vendors we were working with • She contradicted everything we had already agreed with our first coordinator and when challenged, became very agitated and rude • She told us our wedding was not her priority • She blamed the prior coordinator for everything • She was quite rude and condescending 2 weeks prior to our wedding, we had to email corporate as our escalations were going unanswered. We heard back from the GM that she would be handling our wedding moving forward. To be fair, she did a great job making us feel more at ease. But, we shouldn’t have to be escalating concerns 2 weeks prior and then be getting on calls with our 3rd coordinator to explain all of our details as they never were documented. We had rented linens through a 3rd party and 1 linen was not returned. We asked the Inn about this and they were adamant they packed it. I requested they reimburse us for this, they claimed they weren’t at fault and the liability clause in the contract protected them from reimbursement of any ‘lost, damaged or stolen’ items personally brought onto the premises. This refusal, after everything we had to deal with, is what led me to write this. While I can appreciate contract protections and the Inn being right in claiming this, it’s the principal of business to acknowledge any errors or issues and work with the customer, especially given the bad experience you already put that customer through. In conclusion – it’s just not worth your time dealing with everything we had to. If done again, we would opt to choose another venue with similar charm.

This is a very worn out inn. Needs lots of repairs from painting to the little things like: huge stain in carpet, hook on bathroom door broken off, refrigerator caked in ice, shower head coming out of the wall. Weatherstripping peeling off the slider. The tavern served flat beer (they knew it was flat when I ordered; told me so!) the burger (18$) came with oven warmed frozen onion rings. The menu was sparse and the staff could not keep up with the patrons yet only 25% of the seats were filled. The plastic shower tub had a hole 1 inch above the bottom which was patched with caulking. All this for $350 or more? The day before we stayed in Laconia for the same price. Had a beautiful room with antiques, whirlpool and glass shower. Superb dining attached to the inn. Facing the water with a fine balcony and a very clean facility. I would not recommend the Wolfeboro Inn to anyone. Motel 6 could give an equivalent experience. We are stuck. No cancellations without 7 days notice.

Located very convenient to the primary tourist area and the website photos lured my husband The condition pre-Covid appears to have been nice. It could be a lovely stay, but they desperately need staffing for cleaning. While the furnishings are dated, the disrepair is obvious. There’s a trip and fall issue at the main entry with missing tiles. Damaged tiles in restroom within our suite and frankly it was not particularly clean. I couldn’t recommend. Don’t try the Tavern either. Same issues. This hotel is a bait and switch. Looks great on the website using photos that don’t represent the current conditions. Reminds me of the realtors that use a photo of themselves which is at least a decade old.

We have been staying and eating here for 20+ years and what a disappointment to see the hotel in this condition! The exterior is looking worn, but the inside was a shocker… no AC in the reception area, smelled throughout the hotel. We started in room 223- beds were dirty with stains and debris in them. Toilet had urine all over the seat.. Used towel on the floor. The room as the rest of the building smelled. Asked for the receptionist to go check it out….never did. We were promptly moved to the bridal suite-best in the house. Same situation… the bed had dead bugs, blood and just gross. Two for two… they are not changing sheets between visits! Upon checking out I showed pics of the rooms and the gentleman replied with “That is not what we represent, however there has been issues with housekeeping!” Asked for a manager to call me, day 3 and no call. They evidently do not care! Don’t get me going about the restaurant… use to be one of the best in town…out of 8 of us, 2 completed their meal. Food was not noteworthy and service was non existent. It is apparent the establishment needs new management all around, and get out of the covid rut! You’re forced to give a star, one is too many!

Room condition was extremely poor. Lobby A/C was down at check in in July. Hotel entrance/lobby and hallways in need of a renovation. Not sure what the “resort fee” is for- continental breakfast wiped out and not replenished, batteries in remote didn’t work, no one at front desk at check out (smoking outside). Just poor all around for $300 plus a night.

Upon driving up to the hotel, we noticed the paint chipping, rusted gutters, and thought uh-oh. The hotel looks like a time capsule out of 1985. The bathroom door doesn’t close, stains on the furniture, dirty windows, and smelly musty odor throughout the place. Front desk personnel was lovely, but beyond that, bad. And the icing on the cake is charging nearly $400 a night. Criminal. I’d rather stay in my car and save the money.

I decided to stay at the Wolfeboro Inn after stopping in at the Chamber of Commerce. The waterfront town was simply too charming to pass by, and fortunately, I was in town just before the big Memorial Day weekend and the big kick off to summer. While I might have hoped for a bit better price in a near empty hotel, I was happy with my room and its waterfront view and nice balcony. I think the hotel had pretty severe staffing shortages, but I was happy with the front desk help, who did give me a bit of a discount because of a very poor mattress which didn't result the best night of sleep. Overall, I still found it to be a very pleasant hotel to stay in, in a town with loads of charm

Easter Brunch at the Wolfeboro Inn. $50.00 per person and not worth even half that amount. Food was mediocre at best. The Mediterranean salad was OK. Tomato bisque was merely "Meh". Spanish fritatta was dry and largely flavorless. Fire roasted apple pancakes were flat, dry, no discernable apple taste, and a slight burnt aftertaste. Desserts were on a scale of the cheap frozen stuff you can buy at the grocery store, de-frost, and throw on a plate. Left most of what I chose on my own plate after only a few bites. For $50.00 I expect a custom omelet station, baked ham- particularly on Easter, toast, bagels, pastries fresh fruit, coffee - regular and de-caf, juices, hot and cold cereals. You know, premium brunch choices to match the premium price. Yet, there was NONE of that. On a positive note, our server was attentive, prompt, and pleasant. I referred to the whole thing as our "farewell to the Inn" meal. Won't go back. Sorry, not sorry.

We recently booked a stay for Feb. 7-9, 2022. Upon entering the room we found a half drunk bottle of champagne and a stale cannoli in the fridge. The beds looked as if they had been laid upon and there was a considerable stain above one of the beds on the ceiling. This was room 107. The grout in the shower was black in places. The ice machines were both broken and the restaurant was closed. The hotel was quite deserted and I fail to see why we were put in such a substandard room, which had all the earmarks of a room where staff might stay over in an emergency. Due to a burst pipe we were evacuated about 9pmish on the 7th. At that time we were told by the front desk clerk that we would be relocated to Rochester NH at the Holiday Inn Express about 30 min away, as we couldn't stay there. We were also told by her- (She was on the phone the whole time to who I assume was her supervisors)- that we would be reimbursed for our stay at the Wolfeboro as well as for the Holiday Inn. We were told we would have to pay up front at the Holiday Inn and would then email the receipt. Off we went to Rochester in a snowstorm. We called back the following day to inquire about the reimbursement and after several tries were put in touch with the manager on call Gabrielle who told us that there would be no reimbursement for the Holiday Inn. I objected and was told that the Manager Janell would be in touch upon her return on the 14th. I sent an email to Janell telling the whole sordid tale, as well as a follow up email. To this date I have received no response, no reimbursement. Up to the time of this episode we had stayed many times at the Wolfeboro Inn over the past ten years. They have definitely let their game slip over those intervening years. With each trip it seems to fall into greater disrepair. Our treatment on this last trip really takes the cake however and I will NEVER stay there again nor will I recommend it to anyone I care about.

Upon check in, we were greeted by a friendly reservationist, we did ask for a room on a higher floor as we prefer not to be on the 1st floor. We were told that was unfortunately not an option because as she told us " the housekeeper did not show up and that she was actually the only one working" Possibly not what new guests want to hear at check in - but we were happy to get settled into our room after a long drive from Cape Cod. We understand that the inns decor and furnishings are antique in style, but to see things in a state of disarray and dirty is not what we expected. Here is what our room was like: tears and stains on on the rug throughout the room, dirt and cobwebs on the windowsills and blinds , back of bathroom mirror is caked with dust, bureau in bedroom has a plastic packaging material wedged under the left leg, I am assuming as it was not level. Plastic cookie package behind the bureau, bathroom table so wobbly that I was afraid to put any of my toiletries on it. The worst part for me , was when I woke the next morning, I noticed I had an earring missing, I pulled down the bed linens to see if It had fallen off during the night . And was happy to find it, but along with my earring on the bottom part of the sheets where your feet would be were several long black hairs and stain, I am a blond and my husband has gray hair. This lead me to believe that we slept on dirty sheets, to which there is absolutely no excuse for. To say the least, all I wanted to do was check out and get home to take another hot shower. I could understand finding a minor item in the room to be less than perfect, but the reputation of the Wolfeboro Inn had me confident that we would have a wonderful room, that was clean , well maintained and that we would enjoy our stay. This was anything but the case, and in our opinion was like throwing money out the window. Just a total waste of it. I responded to the survey sent after we departed and also sent an email directly to to the inn's manager and received no response.
