It's an official family tradition. Our third year in a row visiting. The hotel is perfectly clean and so lovely. There is so much for everyone in the family to enjoy - the kids love the farm, pool and game room. There's axe throwing and golf for the adults! The staff at the hotel is so helpful - and especially at the farm! We stayed for a long time and my kids were totally engaged and so excited.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I had a fabulous getaway weekend at the Mountain View Grand. Let me start off by saying ,the hotel is perfectly named. The Mountain View, is truly grand, and so is the hotel. From the second we arrived, to the second we left, we were treated special. This hotel was very COVID conscious, and they definitely paid great attention to the rules that the CDC and the state of New Hampshire laid out for them and us. My wife and I were very grateful for this, because it made our stay much more relaxing. The rooms are beautiful! The rooms are very clean and have a fresh feeling to them, which we loved. The food is outstanding, and so are the servers. The dining experience which we enjoyed at the Wine Cellar, was truly a treat for my wife and I. The food and the wine which we had were delicious. The atmosphere was second to none! The hotel has a lot of activities to keep everyone, of all ages entertained. This includes, a world class spa facility, a wonderful farmer porch that wraps around the front of this huge hotel, where you can relax and enjoy a book, talking with friends, enjoying the views of the nearby mountains, or yes, even taking a nap. The hotel has a pool and a recreation department. Some of the many activities available include , golf, tennis, bocci, mountain bike riding, and yes a Axe throwing competition. I am sure there are many more activities available as well. The hotel has a working farm, and yes the hotels kitchen uses the eggs which they receive from the many chickens they have. If this place sounds amazing, it truly is . We will be returning in the future.

For 370 for one night for a small nonview I expected better. Our shower had a bunch of dead fruit flies in it which I discovered in the morning- at that point I just discarded them so I could shower and leave. There were also a few flying around our room. When I told the person upon checking out they said they would tell housekeeping to spray the room and apologized but didn’t offer any small reduction to room price or comp breakfast - any gesture of caring would have gone a long way for me. Also ordering room service I was surprised when they couldn’t swap a mashed potato side with a baked potato for a dietary need. Again with the price of entree expect a simple substitution could be made. The highlights for us were the farm, nice breakfast buffet and beautiful views/landscape.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback here on TripAdvisor. Please accept my apologies for the issues that you experienced during your stay. While I know this does not ameliorate the situation, I have instructed the Front Desk to mail you a $50 gift certificate for the fruit fly situation. For future stays, I highly suggest speaking with our Food & Beverage department ahead of time to discuss any dietary issues so they may be able to offer you the most pleasant dining experience. Please trust that my team and I are committed to providing an excellent resort experience and we sincerely appreciate your patronage during these challenging times. My daughter and I visited for five nights in August. It met all expectations and exceeded them in some areas. The hotel is beautiful, lots of places to relax. We spent several evenings in the library which was very quiet. There is also a game room and a history room filled with pictures of the hotel and area over the last century. Evenings on the Veranda with a drink were lovely and the musician made it very enjoyable. Food was decent although it was a limited menu, the same few items every night. I assume this was due to Covid pressures? I know they are having a hard time getting enough help, as is the rest of the world. As a result, I tried most entrees on the menu, most were very good and a few just "ok". We did room service for breakfast every morning we were there and that was fabulous. Great breakfast and since we had the Southern Mountain view it was lovely eating in peace looking out at the view. Our room was very comfy - two queen beds. Not huge but certainly big enough. As others may have mentioned, the walls are thin and we could hear other families/babies crying/people laughing. Although a little irritating, it certainly didn't subtract from the overall experience. We spent one entire day just walking the grounds. We followed some trails, spent time at the barn with the animals and enjoyed the gardens. The gardens and landscaping were really well maintained and impressive. Overall, this was a very nice vacation unto-itself. We did go up Mount Washington twice, one by car and once by the Cog Railway. Both of those trips were an easy drive from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again. One thing to note is that their website is very clunky and needs to be updated. There was no indication on the website when I booked that there were rooms with balconies or rooms with connecting doors. I definitely would have appreciated this information when booking.
