We got the last room which was in the pet friendly section and we were nervous in case we got any odors. The room was delightful, perfectly clean and fresh with chairs onto a private, small paved area overlooking fields and was very quiet. Service throughout was friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious , served outside with plenty of choice. AC was very noisy but effective. Dinner was ok but my duck was very underdone and my husband’s lamb shank was not fall off the bone but service was friendly and obliging and the rest of the meal was great. We will certainly return.
Recently stayed for a family wedding weekend. Our group had booked the entire inn for rehearsal dinner and pre-wedding fun. It is a lovely, quiet place surrounded by nature - ponds, rolling fields, mountains in the background. Rooms are even prettier in person than the photos - fireplaces (which we all used since it was chilly in April), the most comfortable beds, linens and pillows (which we all loved). Rehearsal dinner was delicious and the ambience was true New England cozy with candles lit throughout the inn's main house. Staff worked hard and were beyond accommodating. Breakfast (which is included) was yummy. Local sourced maple syrup and many choices to pick from all served in the lovely dining room. It was so special. Thank you Chesterfield Inn for helping our family make some terrific memories. We will be back.…
First time staying at the Chesterfield Inn and it was a delight. The staff here was very pleasant and accommodating. We loved our room which was connected to the Inn but had its own entrance, room 19. It had a small front porch and back porch with table and chairs. The room was large and well appointed. Very large bathroom.. It had a refrigerator with many drink choices and a Keurig coffee maker.. The grounds were lovely. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, many choices to choose from, and included with the room rate. Our server was excellent. The Inn also does dinner but unfortunately there was an unfortunate circumstance and they had to close for the night of our reservation, but there are many restaurants in the area to choose from, as they provided a list for us. Maybe next time we go we can try again for reserving dinner. We also brought our bicycles and went on the West River bike trail and that was lots of fun, close by the Inn. We fully enjoyed our stay and have already ranted and raved to our friends about this lovely Inn. Great job Chesterfield Inn staff!…
Judy, the Innkeeper is a gracious host who helped to plan every detail of our elopement, including allowing our dog to be part of the ceremony as ring-bearer. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating (even when our elopement turned small wedding with unexpected, surprise guests). The grounds are beautiful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the food delicious. We will most definitely be back!!
The grounds are still beautiful, the frogs are still enjoying the pond and the stay was perfect. Not only is the mattress still very comfortable but now the pillows stand out as exceptional, all conducive to a very pleasant night's sleep. The staff are very friendly and responsive as well. The Chesterfield Inn is an excellent getaway on a hot summer weekend. Never visited in the winter but it must also be a perfect getaway in the snow.
Returning to the Chesterfield Inn is always a treat during any season. The serene country setting and unpretentious atmosphere bring me back time after time. Thanks to a very dedicated staff, this southern New Hampshire establishment has garnered a loyal guest following and I am definitely part of that group. I always opt for room 21 overlooking the pond due to its privacy and bright decor. Even though it was July, some evenings were rainy and chilly so having the option of using the gas fireplace was a nice feature. Many places restrict fireplace availability to late autumn or winter months so I appreciated the year round fireplace policy of the Chesterfield Inn. The on site restaurant is a huge perk as is room service. Breakfasts and dinners were delivered to my room piping hot and beautifully plated. They have a new chef and are adding new menu choices.…
just stayed again for two wonderful days and nights we just love going there we stayed in room 17 this time and it was great had our own balcony which was nice to just sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy all the views as for the restaurant it was wonderful as usual the people that work there are all so nice. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we will be back.
I stayed for three days with a group of old friends. What a perfect site for a reunion! The Chesterfield Inn is a beautiful, comfortable place to stay. Yoda, the cat, offered a lovely welcome. All the the staff were warm, attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding. I can't wait to return!
The Chesterfield was a one night stop on a longer stay. Welcome committee starts with Yoda, beloved cat, stretched out in the lobby. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the rooms were cozy and not updated to the point that a guest would worry about messing up the decor. I mean that as a compliment. The food was FABULOUS, having experienced both dinner and breakfast the next morning, the latter of which is included in the rate. A shout out to April, our server for dinner that night. Her dry humor and recommendations made the dinner even more enjoyable. THANKS!
I stayed for 2 nights in late April and had a wonderful time. My room was so comfortable, quiet, and beautifully appointed, with a lovely view of the meadow and hills. I had one dinner there and it was excellent, with nice wine choices. And so many healthy choices for an excellent breakfast too. The Inn hosts were most welcoming and there is great hiking very close by. I would highly recommend Chesterfield Inn and hope to visit again myself.
