We stayed at this Inn June 20. It had only been open a couple of weeks due to COVID 19, but they seemed on top of everything. Lots of hand sanitizer in lobby and rooms, staff wearing masks, great options for dinning including a specious dining room, outdoor panting and in room service. Everyone in the building that we saw, was wearing a mask. We ate outside for both dinner and breakfast. It felt perfectly safe and clean. The service was friendly and helpful, most especially the front desk staff. I noticed them wipe down menus when I went down to pick up something for our room, so they really seemed on top of that, though cheap throw always may have been better, though I get the waste issue!
I look forward to returning with some planned local tourist spots.

I stayed one night at this inn while visiting family in Brattleboro. Great place for social distancing. My room was spotless. Extra sanitation measures were in place such as hand sanitizer in every public and private room, plates of afternoon cookies individually wrapped, individually packaged toiletries in each room, etc. The best was room service breakfast (although tables in the restaurant area were socially distanced if you wanted to eat downstairs). The food was delicious, with a lot of choices for breakfast main course as well as homemade baked goods (an apple cider donut during my stay). I felt very safe and comfortable. The employees were friendly, from the front desk clerk to the woman who brought my breakfast. It is also good to know that we can bring our dog. Great stay! Thank you.

This is a lovely inn with a top notch restaurant and staff. From your first contact with them, they aim to please. The breakfast is amazing and the tables are spaced at a safe and comfortable distance. We had dinner brought to our room the first night ( out in one of the cottages - Room 19) and the food was fresh , hot and beautifully presented. They even held dessert and coffee back and delivered it later at our call so that the coffee would be hot and the whipped cream in tact and it was THEIR SUGGESTION not ours. A snowstorm was coming and we had to check out early and they were gracious and refunded our rate which was not expected since we decided at the very last minute. The inn is very conveniently located near Brattleboro and Keene - 2 towns with other nice restaurants and shops.

My husband and I had to cancel our large wedding for this fall and were scrambling to find an available locations for our smaller ceremony and reception. We are so glad we found the Chesterfield Inn! Working with the owner Judy was fantastic. She was quick to respond to any questions/concerns I had. We were able to visit the inn in August and Judy scheduled a tour and food tasting which was fantastic. Judy and her staff went above and beyond to make the weekend of our wedding absolutely perfect. Our guests are still talking about how incredible the food was and how adorable the inn was.
The inn itself is beautiful and I loved the decor in the guest rooms. They have extra cleaning/mask protocols for COVID and it definitely helped us feel more at ease with traveling. We can't wait to visit again!

The inn was located in a beautiful tranquil country setting. We stayed in room 16. The room was very large with big windows on two sides and a gorgeous 4 poster king sized bed. It does face the road and I am sensitive to noise but the road noise didn't bother me at all as I was able to tune it out. We appreciated that they had plenty of space between tables in the breakfast room in the morning. The full country breakfast was lovely and very satisfying!
If you have allergies request a room that is not on designated for pet owners (room 16 is a non pet room)
We ate lunch at the Vermont Country Deli in Brattleboro, an exit away down 91s. We had the "traveling Turkey sandwich" with homemade
soup and then brought it back to the hotel and ate on the patio facing the back woods. We would give Vermont Country Deli a top rating!

I stayed at Chesterfield Inn this past weekend for my gf and I's 5 year anniversary. She kept mentioning to me how much she loved it. Inn has a charm to it, found was surprisingly good both the dinner and and the breakfast (included at no additional cost) The view from where we had dinner was amazing. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms that was very convenient because we had a dog so we were able to step right outside and let our dog out. Overall great stay. Only thing was slightly a negative was that the housekeeping never came during our stay to replace the towels or anything (that might have been due to cover-19 but im not sure)

Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. You are correct that we are not entering guest rooms when guests are with us for housekeeping because of Covid 19 risks. I apologize that this wasn't explained to you at check in; we are offering fresh towels, and anything else that you need during your stay whenever you request it. Happy Anniversary and I hope that you will visit us again sometime!

Just enjoyed 5 nights at the Chesterfield Inn which became my "go to" destination during a chaotic 2020 and remains at the top of my list today. It is an easy drive from my location in Connecticut, the inn is casually refined, and the country setting is perfect. Staff members are gracious, kind, and attentive. The inn has its own restaurant which is a bonus. The chef is quite creative with the dinner menu from one season to the next. I had dinner at the inn 4 of the 5 nights I was there and enjoyed an array of dishes, all very flavorful and worthy of praise! Should you opt for room service, you will find it to be prompt and your meal will be delivered to your door on its own elegant serving tray with the same degree of care you would receive if you were dining in the main restaurant. Make dinner reservations even if you are a guest at the inn. The restaurant is open to the public and time slots fill up quickly. Breakfast is also a taste treat and you will have many options to choose from each day.
Room 21 in the Johanna Wetherby building is my favorite because it has a private entrance, a wonderful view overlooking the pond and woodlands, and is bright and airy with an abundance of natural light. There is minimal noise from traffic on Route 9.
The inn provides a "comment card" in your room for any suggestions you might have to improve service of if you have experienced any problems during your stay. From my own experience when staying here, I know that these are read and reviewed. If any follow up is necessary based on your comments, you will be contacted by the inn's owner, Judy. Customer satisfaction really is a top priority at the Chesterfield Inn which is what one would expect from a DINE member and Select Registry property. Both of these affiliations are assurances that your stay will be a memorable one and for all of the right reasons. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I were so very pleased with our one-night stay at the Chesterfield Inn. I booked this night on relatively short notice on Memorial Day as we were going to Woodstock VT for two nights that Tuesday-Thursday. Booking was easy and all was as advertised. If anything, my expectations we exceeded by the lovely experience. We were notified that the restaurant would not be open on the holiday although they would be serving full breakfast in the morning. They provided a list of restaurants nearby and we opted to go to one on the list in Brattleboro VT for a late lunch on our way to the Inn. The check in was efficient and easy with great customer service. Our room was perfect. Although we could see the main road from our room, we never heard any traffic noise.
We had cookies and snacks in our room and had an amazing night's sleep. In the morning there was coffee available off the lobby which we enjoyed prior to showering and being seated for breakfast. The delicious meal was a highlight of stay with my husband raving about the apple pancakes made just as he remembered from his youth, made with fresh apples, not apple sauce. I enjoyed my omelet with fresh veggies and wheat toast. Service was phenomenal. We departed for our trip to Vermont and were notified that we left our rainjackets in the closet, and they held them for us until our return. Excellent experience and I highly recommend Chesterfield Inn!

We got the last room which was in the pet friendly section and we were nervous in case we got any odors. The room was delightful, perfectly clean and fresh with chairs onto a private, small paved area overlooking fields and was very quiet. Service throughout was friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious , served outside with plenty of choice. AC was very noisy but effective. Dinner was ok but my duck was very underdone and my husband’s lamb shank was not fall off the bone but service was friendly and obliging and the rest of the meal was great. We will certainly return.

We took a few days before New Years to get away. I had been meaning to try the Chestrfield Inn for some time and finally got the chance. We are very happy we chose the Chesterfield Inn in West Chesterfield, NH (near Keene, NH and Brattleboro, VT). We had a lovely 2 days there. First, with all the concerns about Covid-19, I have to say that they did a commendable job to keep everyone safe. Dining tables were spread out among the dining rooms and living room so that there was always at least 10 yards between any set of diners. They have an excellent menu for a modest-sized inn, both for dinner and breakfast. Second, we found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Yes, I could name them all here by name, but I will save anyone from unwanted fame. Third, the individual rooms are charming and comfortable.

I believe that all rooms have refrigerators. Parking is free. I suspect that you could pay for someone else's room the you check in but I can not answer that for certain.
No, but they do have a pot of coffee in the lobby very early in the am...
We have always felt each and every room was very private. There are only a limited number of rooms at the Inn so there isn't going to be huge number of people. Views are nice but not spectacular, probably those facing the rear are the most peaceful. You might consider a room with a separate living room as you can gain some more space and intimacy in your own getaway.
Do make dinner reservations in advance at the Inn. The food has always been superb. (There is a night or two they don't serve in dinner so just check that in advance - thinking it is Sunday....
And a rose on the bed is a lovely touch.
As I recall, my room did.
I honestly don't remember.
