Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for one nite in late Sept, so not crowded. There is a tremendous variation in the sites as far as size and privacy, slope and access, so drive around and check sites before choosing.
We opted for site 81 which was in a separate sorta 'cove' with only three other sites. It was right next to the lake, and the walking path along one side of the lake. W/E, no hookup - fine for us. Lots of room. Very quiet.
Office staff incredibly nice
Verizon 3-4 bars LTE
Now the restrooms - another story - we really needed showers - cost a quarter (when we had paid $44 for site). BUT dirty restrooms, lots of bugs, then the stupid shower turns on with a dribble, literally, of water. I was lucky to get hair washed and rinsed. Husband put in his quarter and said 'forget it'
I would not call this a beautiful setting - we are from Colorado, and had just spent two weeks in Maine. It is wooded and ok. And not all sites are level.
So, in summary - if you get a good site, and not in peak season (when I'm sure it is crazy crowded), this place can be fine.

Definitely a mixed-bag experience for our late-summer weekend camping trip. Here are the pros and cons.
We were tent camping and the campground is 80% RVs and 20% tents. They put all the tenters in the same area so that was nice. We had a really nice tent site with some separation and privacy from others. However, we also saw tent sites that were really small and basically crammed against the road. BE REALLY CAREFUL WHICH SITE YOU GET because some of the sites ought not to be sites at all. We didn't bring a power adapter (from the 30 amp to regular household plug) but the camp store lets you borrow one for a $5 refundable deposit.
There are two bathhouses. The men's room had 1 shower stall, 2 toilets, and a urinal. The women's also had 1 shower stall, I heard there was some waiting involved there. For activities, the swimming pool was large, clean, and unheated. It's kind of in the shade and definitely too cold to swim in, but they did have a unusually cool summer. There's also shuffleboard, sand volleyball, pool table (requires quarters), and foosball.
The campground abuts the lake/pond along a narrow strip. There's no beach to swim in, but they had a number of canoes, paddleboats, and kayaks for rent. We rented canoes, which required going to the office (top of hill) to get the key for the padlock, walking all the way to the lake (quite a long walk), unlocking the canoes, getting the muddy water out of the canoes, then finally paddling around. The lake is ok, not spectacular but was decently long to paddle for 1 hour. The kicker was that the office person charged us for TWO HOURS even though we actually paddled for an hour. She said she gave us an extra 20 minute allotment to consider for walking up and down the campground, etc. Seriously, do they have to be so cheap and legalistic? No one else was waiting for the boats, and if we had known that was their attitude, we would have left the canoes in the mud and returned it in the hour.
The bundles of wood they sell for $5.50 each were on the somewhat small side. We've gotten larger bundles for $5 at other campgrounds. So your mileage may vary a lot, depending on which site you get and how you interact with the staff.
They limit the sites to 2 adults each. However, there was a large church gathering near our site where they rented many sites, parked all their cars on a few sites, and crammed all the tents on other sites. They sang loudly until about 9 or 9:30pm.
Another site near us had their truck stereo blasting loud rock music until about 10pm. No one violated the camp's official quiet hours, but still it was a bit irritating that camping in nature had to involve so much man-made noise.

Having made a couple of bone-headed mistakes on a trip back from Acadia, I was desperate to find a campsite that would take last minute reservations. The owner was extremely helpful and thoughtful, taking calls late into the night, and set everything up for our late arrival. They were extremely nice and friendly, and the campsite was very quiet and secluded, backing up to a picturesque and serene lake. Overall, I highly rate this campsite and would recommend it to anyone!

One shower for the bath house!!! Need I say more. If you are staying in a RV, and don't need the facilities I'd say it's a pretty nice place. The campsites are spacious and private. But if you are tenting with small children and looking for activities this is not a good choice. The arcade is small, the rec hall is locked during the week. The lake isn't much of a lake more like a muddy pond.
The pool is nice and clean but in the shade a lot of the day . The management is strict on some things but yet I heard a loud party at 1130 and never noticed any staff around to tell. Not that I would of anyways.
So I guess not a horrible stay. But I wouldn't recommend this campground unless you are a seasonal camper.

While we want to state that this was a one time visit AND it is after all the kids are back in school, we enjoyed our stay at this campsite. OBVIOUSLY, it may have been much more different if it was in the middle of the summer, but nevertheless, we'll concentrate on the site not so much the clientele.
Autumn Hills appears to be well kept, fairly clean, very quiet and has many amenities. We found the grounds fairly well manicured, the bathrooms were clean although you do pay for showers and the camp store, rec center, laundry etc. all seemed to be okay.
Our site was clean and we camped with a camper with full hookups and our site was private and wooded. Nice and quiet with quiet hours adhered to properly- again the place was pretty quiet anyway as the kids are back in school.
Amenities are probably mush more active in high season but they still offered activities while we were there. Staff was very nice and helpful. There are stores nearby if needed as well as an RV company if needed. Tents sites were clean and nice also. There is a small pond and you can also rent canoes, etc. and a swimming pool.

Tight sites, narrow roads, one road wasn’t labeled and there was minimal separation from your neighbors!
They have a very small convenience store at the office with minimal supplies and food/snacks!
I won’t be back anytime soon!
