We got married at Alyson’s Orchard last month. We had our parents stay at two of the cottages from Inn At Valley Farm, as they requested their own places due to their high risk categories for catching COVID and didn’t want to stay with a larger group. I wanted to write this review to let people know this is a fantastic option for anyone getting married in this area. Our parents didn’t want to stay at a big chain hotel where 100 people touch the elevator buttons etc. We met with Amy the Inn Keeper before our parents even booked and she was so kind to take us to each of the cottages and farmhouses so our parents could see how far it was from where we were staying at Alyson’s Farmhouse, and what their individual places would look like. Covid has really put a lot of fears for people traveling, and Amy went out of her way to make our parents feel safe. After we booked with Amy, I had asked her if I dropped off a basket prior to our parents arrival would she be able to put the welcome basket in each of their cottages, and she happily did that for us. Amy truly went above and beyond to ensure our guests felt safe and comfortable for their visit there. She was very helpful and responsive with all of my emails. Our parents truly enjoyed their time and the grounds of the property

The Inn at Valley Farms is a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful historic Inn located on a picture-perfect farm near Walpole, NH. We stayed in the Garden Suite which is spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of the farm and nearby orchard. The Inn dates back to the 1800, but the bathrooms are up to date while keeping a vintage feel. We enjoyed all the little details such as the authentic sitting rooms and decor. The innkeepers live on site and are amazingly helpful. We really enjoyed the fresh breakfast and coffee each morning, and dinner at The Hungry Diner — the farm's partner restaurant in town. We appreciated the farm, inn, and diner's dedication to featuring locally raised and sourced ingredients and products — including pasture-raised eggs and chicken from the farm, and coffee and ales sourced locally.

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Inn at Valley Farms. The Inn is furnished and decorated tastefully with antiques, lovely wall paper, old photographs and interesting lamps/lighting. The Inn was very clean not musty, the feel was charming not dowdy. Our room was spacious and had enough electric outlets to charge our phones, etc. The bathroom, while just across from our room, wasn't cramped and was private.
The staff was very friendly. Tessa, who served us our breakfast every morning couldn't have been more pleasant and conversational. The eggs each morning came fresh from the farm hens. All our requests were graciously accommodated including a late night arrival and my husband's gluten-free diet. The farm "surrounds" featured barns, views of the hogs, and Vermont countryside. The drive into Walpole was quick and easy.
Overall a lovely experience and place! We hope to visit the Inn again soon,

We arrived after a long day of driving to an Inn on a hill above a farm. The place was quiet since we just missed the innkeeper, but a warm welcome was given by Peter the cat and a note was left for us with directions. The 2 bedroom (Maple room) was the perfect set up for a family of 3 (could have accommodated four) with some privacy for our teen. Water and glasses were left in our rooms to enjoy, and we found fresh baked cookies down in the coffee pantry. We settled right in and headed out for dinner. When we arrived back that evening, we explored the house a bit before retreating to our suite. There was a fragrant soap from the inn left for us and a shower in our clawfoot tub was a great way to end the day. We also found comfy robes in our room for after. Our beds were comfortable that afforded a restful night. In the morning, we headed downstairs for coffee, available at 7am. Right off the coffee pantry was the most enjoyable seating area in the sunroom. The view was over the rear garden and barn. There was even a playground. The house was mostly quiet but we could hear someone around 8am getting breakfast ready in the kitchen. We enjoyed our coffee and the view before heading upstairs to ready for the day with anticipation of breakfast. We met Alicia, who made the most amazing French toast casserole. She was so lovely. She set up the self serve buffet on the dining credenza which also included beef sausage from the farm, fresh fruit, muffins, yogurt parfaits ,OJ and that amazing French toast casserole. It was served with Maple syrup that came right from the farm! That was such an amazing breakfast we were sure could not be topped! However, throughout our stay we also had the most amazing farm eggs, scrambled with a touch of cream cheese and chives made by Tessa. We had them for the next morning as well since they were so delicious! And, Tessa was so kind to make the French Toast casserole again on our last morning and sent me home with the recipe. We also enjoyed a walk in and around the gardens and farm, catching sight of two otters in the pond at the entry of the farm. The owner also took us to see the baby chicks our first morning and helped us with a beautiful bouquet of wildflowers for me to take to my mother-in-law for her 80th birthday! Allyson’s Orchard was only a walk up the hill, where we picked some blueberries and raspberries. There were so many cute places within the home and property to sit, relax and read a book and we met some lovely people during our stay. We loved the Inn at Valley Farm and hope to come back and stay again!

We were a couple, staying at this Inn on recommendation of friends. The house is well appointed with antiques and period items. Each room piqued my curiosity. There are places to sit with friends or quietly read indoors or outside on the patio and lawn. The rooms are all unique and absolutely quaint and comfortable. We slept with the windows open and listening to the crickets sing all night. A/C is available in the summer. The breakfast of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola - with hot coffee - was extraordinary. We loved it. There is a working farm nearby where they source the bacon and eggs. We will visit it next time. Note that while there are private bathrooms, only some rooms have the bathroom in the bedroom. The others are right across the hall. There are no TVs in this Inn. Wifi is available.

It turned out to be a blessing that we had to cancel two other wedding plans due to Covid-19 and ended up at the Inn at Valley Farms. It truly ended up being our dream wedding with 10 of our closest family and friends.

Amy was a pleasure to work with from day one when we went to tour the Inn. She answered all our questions and was so kind and understanding about us being nervous to sign another contract. Throughout the whole planning process she helped to make sure everything got done correctly from the tent delivery to the flowers and cake to talking to some of our guests to calm their nerves about staying at the Inn during a pandemic. She helped us think through many questions and came up with solutions we wouldn't have thought of! She was always there to help the weekend of the wedding as well. Everyone loved her!

Amy isn't the only selling point of this venue though. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. All the rooms are so unique, such high quality, and absolutely beautiful. There are so many places to take pictures on the property during your wedding. The barn is the absolute best rain plan out of all the weddings we planned this year! It is such a cool spot that our photographer actually said he would have suggested it as the ceremony site even if it wasn't raining.

We got the elopement package which came with a bouquet that blew me away. I honestly could not believe how beautiful it turned out - far better than any of the Pinterest pictures I sent. The cake also totally exceeded our expectations. I'm not much of a cake person and I thought it tasted delicious and was beautiful. Their venue list is also top notch! The breakfast they serve was to die for both mornings and make sure to visit the Hungry Diner which is also fantastic. A little bonus is the mugs we got that we both love drinking out of every morning now.

I could go on and on about how much we loved every aspect of the Inn for our wedding. I promise staying at the Inn and Farm House and having your wedding at this venue will be the best decision you've ever made!

The website advertises that “Your kitchen is stocked with locally roasted coffee and homemade baked goods at the beginning of your stay to enjoy!” There was coffee, but when we arrived there was a single mini-loaf cake (for 3 people) that was not covered or wrapped and which we did not get “to enjoy” because, unfortunately, there was a fly in the room. The overall feeling of Kilburn Cottage is very dismal. For a Cottage that sleeps 6, there is only one 2-cushion couch in the living area. The only other seating is a very hard banquette bench with no cushions. Not comfortable. (We requested an additional easy chair which was provided.) There is one closet on the first floor with hangers, so it appears to be for the occupants of the first-floor bedroom. However, the closet also stores brooms and cleaning supplies. Not an ideal place to hang one’s clothes. The bathroom could use some updating and repairs as the door is warped and doesn’t shut properly. Additionally, the dim lighting in the living area added to the overall dreariness. Kilburn Cottage had originally been a sheep barn and it appears that the intent is to retain the original ambiance of a sheep barn.

This is a long overdue review since we haven't visited in a couple of years. Still my happy place and have spent the pandemic fantasizing about returning. We first visited when my kids ages 13 and 11 were 8 months and 3 years old. Travelling with kids this age can really REALLY suck. I missed travelling. Inn at valley farms has a place with baby gates, where a pack and play can go, apart from other guests who would and should be bothered by a baby crying at 3 am and a toddler throwing a tantrum at 7 am. They have the most special meat that one can buy. Hiking trails on premisis. unbelievable breakfasts. great hosts and hostesses. I have gone back repeadedly though the years both with and without kids. I love the apple orchard across the street, the restaurants in town, the raw milk nearby. I love their philosophy and their implementation. I love their dedication. I miss them and think they are amazing. A great place for families and couples and friends.

We recently spent six days at the Inn at Valley Farms in Walpole, New Hampshire. It’s an historic farm that dates to 1774. The main part of the house is beautifully decorated in Colonial style fabrics and colors. You can choose to relax in the Library with its wood burning fireplace and well stocked bookshelves, in the Music Room, the Game Room or the bright Sunroom with three walls of glass, where you can view the lovely adjacent gardens, barns and fields. Breakfast every morning was abundant and delicious, with fresh baked goods made by the Innkeeper, Tessa (who is a delight).

Our room boasted a four poster bed, beautiful textiles and antique furnishings, with an en-suite bathroom. Totally relaxing.

After days of sightseeing in the nearby New Hampshire and Vermont towns and dining at some great restaurants, we were happy to return to the comforts of the Inn.

We’ll definitely return to the Inn at Valley Farms, maybe for a Spring or Summer visit, since this trip was in November. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in southern New Hampshire.

I highly recommend staying at this beautiful Inn built in 1775. Tessa, the innkeeper was charming and such a pleasure to deal with. We needed a larger space last minute and she readily accommodated our needs. The Inn is absolutely gorgeous, clean and comfortable and the grounds are equally magnificent. Breakfast was lovely and delicious (Tessa bakes the most delicious cookies and donuts and she shared her recipes with us!) We will surely be back.

Is the Inn dog friendly?

Hi Beverly, We have a number of our own pets and a great number of farm animals so unfortunately it doesn't work to have visiting dogs on our property. We'd love to have you stay with us, but if you can't travel without your pet and are looking to stay in this area, the Chesterfield Inn (about 20 minutes from here) does accept dogs. Please let me know if you have additional questions and again we'd love the opportunity to welcome you to our farm. Thanks for reaching out.
