Come be pampered at this small family owned and operated Bed & Breakfast in the White Mountains. Our Bed & Breakfast is a Federal style farmhouse built in 1853. The B & B sits on 5.5 Acres at the entrance to the Mt. Washington Valley and has views of Mts. Washington, Madison, & Adams. The 7 guest rooms all have private baths, 2 have whirlpool tubs! Rates include a full breakfast and afternoon baked goodies! Come to play, come to stay - hike, bike, fish, snowshoe, ski, shop, or just relax with a book and read. We are open with limited rooms due to the size of our dining room and the recommendation to keep tables 6 feet apart.

Detailed Reviews
What a great stay for two nights! The Bed and Breakfast itself was very comfortable, with spacious rooms, cozy beds, and pretty gardening - it was especially nice to watch the hummingbirds and butterflies in the mornings. Mary Ann is an incredible innkeeper as well - she gave fantastic recommendations, cooked delicious breakfasts, kept everything nice and clean, and was extremely accommodating. She is incredibly welcoming and fun to talk to as well! If I find myself up in the mountains again, I will definitely be staying here.

Thank you MaryAnn for amazing time at your beautiful inn! We always love coming back to your place and feel very at home and well taken care of. Not only did MaryAnn leave us a special dessert on the night we arrived, she also takes care of any dietary needs that you have. When I told her about my switching up to almond milk this year, she made sure to add that into refrigerator for me. She also cooked up yummy breakfasts that I could eat while eating a very restrictive diet. Thanks again for being AMAZING!!!

The location has beautiful views of the Presidential and Mahoosuc Ranges.
it is away from the hustle and bustle of Gorham, quiet area and not crowded.
The food is phenomenal and the company is always quiet and friendly.
We used a Tesla, and there are level 2 and DC fast chargers relatively near.
There are many off the path hiking trails and scenic drives, and the host knows all the places, whether you want the tourist traps, or something less frequented.
Things to remember:
Old New England House charm.
Outside the hustle and bustle, so a bit of a drive to destinations.
That said, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Mount Washington B&B was great!! Accommodations were clean and quiet Mary Ann was a gracious host who made us feel very comfortable. She made us a wonderful breakfast and was delightful to get to know. She was extremely accommodating and d thoughtful as we needed to leave very early one morning. She went out of her way to ensure we had breakfast to go.

Mary Ann was such an amazing host and gave us the best recommendations for the area as well as in Maine. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the cold nights in the game room just relaxing.
Also, ask for the pumpkin pie french toast and the apple pancakes, you won't regret it!

This is a fine inn, old-fashioned in the best kind of way. Delicious breakfasts, nice rooms, and the delightful Mary Ann as your host. You're in easy reach of some amazing wilderness areas, and close to town and restaurants too! If you like bland motels, this isn't for you. If you like interesting, friendly places with character, this is it!

Summary: Don’t stay here. I have travelled widely for over 20 years (both business and personal travel) and this is my first negative post. Read on – it’s funny…
I wanted to treat my Mom and Sister to a nice night's stay in a charming B&B as we road-tripped from my grandmother's house in Maine to my town in Northern Vermont, so I booked a suite-type room. The accommodations consisted of a main room with adjacent bath and an adjoining room with a pull-out couch. The couch-bed was so poor that it is unlikely any adult could have slept there without back problems the next morning. So my sister and I shared a bed. We were about to go to sleep when we noticed that the entire pillow was absolutely covered with insects. We figured out that it was from a fan placed in a window (which also had a screen, which remained closed the entire time). We removed the fan, closed the window, cleaned the bed (it turned out that insects were absolutely everywhere on the top half of the bed). We were about to go to sleep again when we realized that the entire room was filled with insects… not just ‘no-see-ums’, but mosquitoes and ants as well (and a few spiders). We, with the help of our 60+-year old mother, spent the next hour or more throwing shoes at the walls and ceilings trying to kill of the bugs so that they didn’t bite us or my infant (11 months) in his sleep. We finally gave up, took him out of his pack and play, and hid under the covers in the July heat. Needless to say, we did NOT get a good night’s sleep and just could not get out of there fast enough. We did mention the issue to the innkeeper the next morning, but she cut off my conversation with a dismissive, “Those are no-see-ums and that’s just what we deal with here in New Hampshire,” or something along those lines. I believe I was charged something between $120 and $170 for one of the most awful nights I have ever spent in a hotel. We certainly would have changed hotels had we not arrived so late (also, we had already been charged ahead of time!). I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. My reason is not the bugs – although that will be a rather amusing family story for many decades to come. Because a problem (insect or otherwise) can always occur in a hotel or B&B, my gripe is with the following: (1) Our problem was dismissed, (2) The Inkeeper showed no effort to make things right in any way (not even an apology), and (3) Management sold a pull-out couch in which no one can sleep for top dollar. Perhaps there are better rooms in this establishment, perhaps the Innkeeper was annoyed that we showed up late (we did give a courtesy call, however), but these guests were certainly NOT treated well, did NOT appreciate the accommodations and certainly felt like they overpaid for the stay by at least $100 (which is significant).

This B&B offers clean, comfortable, and large rooms. That's the good stuff. However, when we first drove in, the old farmhouse looked so neglected from the outside, almost abandoned, that we were sure we were at the wrong place. If you walk around the property, it is clear the owner doesn't do the same - at least not with an eye toward neatness and beauty. There are piles of old rusting junk in the yard, broken furniture, and neglected gardens. The porches are totally uninviting. There were old brooms and mops left on the porches, and way too many undusted and tacky old knick knacks all around. The outside really needs some loving care given to it. We had been unaware that the B&B sits very close on Gorham/Shelburne's main road, so there is definite car noise all the time. We unknowingly had chosen a back room, so we slept fine. Inside, there is some charm to the house, although still nothing inside appears to have been changed in the last 20+ years. The owner does offer the amenities a traveler wants and needs - access to beverages and coffee at any time, a nice breakfast, and one of the afternoons there were delicious brownies for the guests. (Although she had counted them out and labeled them to make sure that there was only ONE for each person.) The owner seems to be lonely, so be prepared to listen to a lot of chit-chat, but don't expect her to listen to you or accommodate any special requests graciously. Overall, I would say the price of your stay is low enough, that it is fine to find a clean, comfortable room for an evening or two. But it is best to know what to expect.

We were in the area last weekend for a brief stay in the White Mountains, and decided to try a B&B, as we normally only do the larger hotels, and thought it might be fun. Alas, we really didn't feel welcome there at all, from the moment we pulled up to the building, and were told we were parked in the wrong place, and that the dirt on the other side of the tree was the place to park.
We were welcomed by Mary Ann, the owner, who gave us a tour, and went over all the things one is not allowed to do at her place. The home is old and most definitely has charm, but is in need of a lot of work, and desperately in need of some landscaping. A power washer would be a great investment in getting rid of some of the dirt on the siding.
There is no cable service or satellite, so the TV in your room is useless. They do have DVD players, but she keeps all the DVD's and you have to ask her for them if you want one. There is also no Wifi to speak of, at least not what you would expect. She has one of the portable Verizon MiFi units, which she tells you up front doesn't reach all the rooms, needs a password which we never had, even show she said in her snarky way that the password was on a card on the bureau in our room. She also lists that you cannot use too much bandwidth on it, because she gets charged, and that it only works until about 10PM, when she unplugs it to charge for the night. Hardly high tech, and that was a huge bummer, because there's really nothing to do in that area locally, especially on rainy, cold weekends.
Let's see, our first morning we were asked why we were out so late the night before (10:45), and I came down for breakfast but was not offered any. I sat in the breakfast room with my coffee, while Mary Ann went to each of the other tables, talked with the guests, and offered them breakfast, while I sat there like an idiot waiting for my turn. I finally had to go out for a meal. Clearly, others had a different experience, and she plays favorites. I have no idea what her issue was with us, but it was palpable in the air.
Our first full day, we were criticized for countless things, and honestly, it was like spending the weekend with your mother. While having a drink outside, my girlfriend broke her glass. We were, of course, chastised for that, not once, but several times. In fact, even the following day, I was approached to try and identify where we through away all the pieces of the glass, because she only found one in the trash, and almost cut her hand looking for the rest, because she recycles glass. The second morning, i again came down, and sat having my coffee while she offered breakfast to other people. I finally said something to one of the other guests, about never having been offered food, and she obviously overheard that, and finally brought me breakfast, which consisted of two delicious almond pancakes, and a sausage which looked like someone bit off the end.
The room was ok, but the bed was incredibly noisy, which was a bummer. The towels were tiny and thin, and once you used them, they were wet for the day.
Again, I booked the place because of all of the positive reviews, and I personally witnessed many people being treated with loving, welcoming arms, but I wasn't one of them, and couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. She didn't even say good bye when I gave her my keys, which was fine.
I never, ever, ever write bad reviews, but there's a first time for everything, I suppose.

My dad and I stayed here for 2 nights while hiking in the White Mountains. We found the experience charming, comfortable, and distinctly enjoyable, and would strongly recommend it to all others!
The guest rooms are quaint, clean, and well-decorated. Breakfast was delicious, and Mary Ann was helpful and accomodating regarding all aspects of our stay, including our wet return from a rainy hike.
