We had a 2 night stay, the hotel could use some work, there was a chip off of the bathroom floor, the stair entrance looked old, they only had Bananas and Apples for the breakfast. They weren't wrapped either, so anyone could've touched them. I feel that they could've offered muffins or danishes in packages, the OJ machine was good, and the coffee was hot, not sure how fresh it was as it did have a little bit of a bitter taste to it. Price seemed to be ok, they do have a $50 incidentals fee, so be prepared for that. All in all it was "good enough"

I booked a last minute trip to Portsmouth for Memorial Day weekend. The area chain Hotels were way overpriced. The Anchorage was reasonably priced and in the same area as the others. The rooms are large and updated. Bathroom was also large, clean and updated. The location was good and less than 10 minutes to the outlets in Kittery and Downtown. A few negative things, the hotel is very close to I-95 and right off the exit so you could hear traffic noise. The other thing is some of the first floor rooms are actually more ground level and the windows are smaller and located high in the room. Otherwise a great value.

The hotel was very clear that they were under extensive construction - and they are. There was easy access from the highway and ample, safe parking. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful front desk worker and able to use a luggage cart to get to our room. The section we were in was clean and tired - that is why they are under construction, but we have no complaints. Everything was clean, everything worked, it was quiet and the bed and AC was comfortable. Breakfast had choices and we were happy with our options. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Our first room we got the neighbors upstairs sounded like wild animals. Then we switched rooms that room wasn't any better no extra towels as I wanted no do not disturb sign housekeeping walked in. We stayed next to Jekyll and Hyde not showering the place was full of crack heads with their dogs.

Seriously why let people with dogs in. Loud ass inconsiderate people all over the place slamming doors left and right constantly the pool is demolished no notice the hot tub demolished no hot tub in the room.

The website's misleading , Portsmouth water smells and tastes funny you might as well stay home. You might as well stay at the econo Lodge at least it's nicer and the water doesn't taste funny.

There is no breakfast. The hotel claims that they're not allowed to give food except for fruit during Covid-19. They could have had had wrapped muffins or whatever. The room itself wasn't so bad but some of the guests made me nervous. I actually think they may be housing transients at the time. One night the front desk was also shut down with a sign on the door. That is terrible security. In hindsight, I would have paid the additional $30 or so a night to stay at one of the upper scale chains.

Common areas were quite messy from construction detritus and some were not air-conditioned. It was HOT. No breakfast available as advertised. Room furnishings were very tired and there are insufficient outlets available for today's digital traveler. Staff was not terribly hospitable. All in all, a very unsatisfying experience. Will not consider this hotel in the future at any price.

I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend a stay here to my worst enemy. We are falsely being charged for water damages we arent liable for. They also charged my friends in the suite next to us.

We spent two nights. The room, upon entering, was extremely stuffy and had an aroma. I brought air freshener with me and that solved that issue. The bathroom is tiny! Seriously, you have to step into the tub in order to close the door! The hair dryer didn't work and one of the inset lighting on the ceiling was blinking. The furniture looked new but there are NO USB ports available and inadequate plugs fixtures. The bed was comfortable for my husband but not me. Too hard. The breakfast was supposed to open at 6 am but we were told 7 am. Also, they had an issue with the regular coffee machine so it was out of service for a day! Also, there was NO maid service to given to our room. The employees were in the hallway but never turned over our towels. Good thing we had some!
Anyhow, it's my experience. You make your own choice if you stay here.

This is truly the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at! Dirty, grungy, smelly, and OMG the beds, were HORRIBLE! We ended up not even staying because my wife and I literally couldn't even bare to sleep there. Not to mention, they had a old broken down RV in the parking lot with a car next to it on jacks. Questionable people in the parking lot. The worst most disgusting experience of my life with a hotel! NEVER EVER Stay here!

We booked this hotel to use the pool and hot tub prior to going out to downtown Portsmouth. We didn’t find out until after checking in that the hotel was under heavy renovations. There’s a hotel across the street that has a similar price and also has a pool. Anyway, the check in process was a pain. The rooms were dated. There is nobody at the front desk after midnight and the front doors are locked. They only allow access to the side door after midnight. The next morning there was no front desk. This place used to be pretty good, but not worth the price anymore.
