Revisited this fabulous hotel again ... still great and felt like home. Staff is very friendly and efficient from the time you book the reservation until you check out. The follow up and attention to detail is greatly appreciated. The breakfast is interesting and nicely prepared. Can't beat the location. We will keep returning here.

The room was great as usual. They left a box of chocolates for us for our anniversary!! We had friends join us on Saturday night and they really enjoyed their stay too! Said the beds were very comfortable which they are!!! Can't wait to go back!!

Smaller hotel, great amenities including free parking! Easy to walk from hotel to all the highlights of town including great restaurants. Rooms are nice and have super comfy bed. Nice selection of complimentary beverages including sparking water available. Helpful friendly staff.

The Hotel Portsmouth is a lovely place to stay. It's very clean, artfully designed and conveniently located. The breakfast of appetizers or tapis was very tasty and unusual. The room furnishings were very basic but attractive. My only complaint was the sound of the boiler which was directly under our room 101. At its loudest it kept me awake. I...

Love the Portsmouth Hotel. So much charm to the building. Everything is cozy but updated and stylish. Plus, they have off street free parking for guests. If you book far enough ahead of time, prices are reasonable and compare/beat other hotel prices downtown. Nothing but good things to say.

When our hotel reservations for another, modern hotel in Portsmouth didn't pan out as we thought they would, we booked into the Hotel Portsmouth for the night of December 6. Right away we knew that this hotel should have been our first choice all along! A small, cozy 'boutique' hotel, located in a renovated building, it's full of ambience and...

This is such a cute hotel. You feel like you're sent to Europe when you walk in. It has all the charm of a cute little bed and breakfast in Paris but all the amenties you'd want from a big hotel chain in Boston. The staff is amazingly friendly, the free breakfast is delicious and super fancy, the rooms are...

The Hotel Portsmouth continues to be an excellent place to stay in Portsmouth. It is well appointed, has a gracious staff, and interesting and unusual breakfasts. One of the most important facts is that it is walking distance to all of the attractions of the downtown area.

The hotel was practically abandoned by staff. One person on duty the entire time we were there. The noise level was unbearable. The in room glasses were dirty. The flooring was a trip hazard. The service was awful, and management was completely unapproachable and reachable.

We were traveling up to Maine and decided to stay here one night on the way up. It was late when we walked in but Taylor checked us in and gave us items that we forgot like shaving cream and toothbrushes. We were in room 208 tucked upstairs in the corner. It was a big king room with a comfy...
