Pleasure trip to visit Portsmouth. Great location to walk to shops and restaurants on the water. Went to Old Ferry Landing and River House and had gresat lobster dinners at both of them. We also had a good time at the Portsmouth Brewery.

Hotel's Favorite
I’ve stayed at Hotel Portsmouth many times, because it’s the perfect cozy getaway in walking distance of all downtown Portsmouth has to offer. I especially choose it in the winter months due to their festive, cozy atmosphere. The breakfast nook and free coffee is something to wake up for. Though this visit I was pleased to see that the self serve breakfast nook was closed due the pandemic. This is a sure sign the staff are taking it seriously and care for everyone’s safety! Free coffee and tea was still available. I stayed in the Loft room this time. There is a claw foot soaking tub so I treated myself to a quiet, rejuvenating getaway for my 35th bday. The staff even provides eucalyptus bath salts. This is a great place to stay!

Excellent setting in a very lovely seaport town. A vintage building and very well cared for. Comfortable and well decorated king room. Front desk, Tear, was a superb ambassador for the hotel and the region businesses. Daily Breakfast was very well done as well. We look forward to a return visit.

Portsmouth is a must see and the Hotel Portsmouth was perfect. Well located with everything within walking distance - history, walking tour, great restaurants, and the waterfront. Close enough we even walked across the bridge into Kittery, Maine. Our room was great - no view but it had everything we needed. Beautiful old inn with gorgeous paneling. We arrived late on a nasty very wet night, and the evening host was fabulous - got us a luggage cart, helped load it, got it up to our room and helped unload it! Unheard of service these days. The hotel has an elevator which we have discovered is not the case in a lot of old inns! They are taking covid seriously - which we appreciate! - and masks are required in all public spaces inside the hotel. Breakfast was great and a little different every day we were there. And they were very accommodating when I asked for something that was not put out 1 morning. We stayed 3 nights. Highly recommend.

I’ve stayed in Portsmouth many times usually staying at the larger chains in town. This was such a pleasant surprise! Everything from the actual hotel, to the beautiful room, perfect location, and friendly staff. The price was also great as well. I will definitely return.
