Detailed Reviews
I'm conflicted about posting this review because then other people will know about Partidge Cabins and we won't be able to get in again. We loved it here. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, with old knotty pine paneling just like it should have. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc and the beds were very comfortable (more saucepan lids would have been helpful, though). And the cabin was so spotlessly clean when we arrived that it sparkled. All the cabins are set on a sweeping green lawn with incredible views of First Connecticut Lake and Mt. Magalloway beyond. There is even a seriously good ice cream stand right at the entrance. The owners - Kathy and Jerry - are friendly, funny, welcoming and very helpful with tips on things to do in Pittsburg. They have canoes and kayaks for guests to use and there are comfortable chairs to sit in to just admire the view. At night you can hear the loons calling to each other on the lake. Such a wonderful getaway; we didn't want to leave. In fact the three other guests I talked to were all regulars who said they stayed here at least once a year, which says a lot about the place.

This was our 5th or 6th trip (I have lost count), we love going to Partridge Cabins. The cabins are so clean, comfortably furnished and well stocked with any supplies you need, like towels, bedding, dishes, etc. The property is top notch as well. It’s so quiet and peaceful! Great views and access to the lake, for swimming, boating, or fishing. There are nice big lawns for the kids to play on and fly kites or toss a ball around. There is a fire pit and fire wood available, and we had lots of fun making s’mores! At the roadside there is also a really awesome ice cream stand that makes amazing sundaes! The owners/ hosts are also super kind and knowledgeable about the area, so we always get great tips for outings we can do nearby.
We always get Last Frontier cabin, and it’s perfect for our family. A small kids room, parents room, and a spacious living area that includes a full kitchen, dining table, and TV area. Also a nice little deck with a table and chairs for outdoor meals, and a charcoal grill.
If you’re seeking peace and quiet, partridge cabins is the place for you!

Second visit and it was better than the first. The owners are friendly, flexible and gracious and the location is superb. Cathy and Jerry are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction including connecting me with a superior fishing guide. Will be back time and again.

This was our first time at the Partridge Cabins, and what a place. The Loon cabin is beautiful with the decor of what a cabin should look like, the cabin was cozy and warm with a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains. Jerry and Kathy are wonderful and make you feel at home without the hussle and bustle of the normal everyday life. The serenity that you experiance is a way of life in the great north woods and being a part of it for a couple of days was a god send. There are no cell towers or internet which brings you back to simple life, we brought our teenagers up to the cabin with us with the intention of having a family weekend without all of the obsticles that hinder any kind of family interaction. We went for rides looking for moose, hiked to Garfield Falls and at night we sat around and played cards and board games like families used to do before the high tech world took over. We were able to get back to the basics of our family and actually enjoy our children and they also enjoyed just being a family. We are making plans with the rest of our family to go up for a 4 day weekend during the winter for all of the winter activities that we can do as a family. Jerry and Kathy are amazing as they are laid back and not in a hurry to roust you out of there in record time like other places i have stayed. The Moose Alley Cone is located on the grounds and run by the owners, the ice cream was great because of the atmosphere at the Partridge Cabins. We had such a good time that we didn't want to leave. Thanks again Jerry and Kathy for giving us back our sanity and closeness with our family. Your kindness and generosity are so appreciated as you don't come across people like you both any more, everyone is always in a hurry and for the most part rude and uncaring. All of you that are reading this review have to go and check out the Partridge Cabins as it is a step back into time as the way life should be and was at one time, a long time ago.

I was told I must go here -- and I did and wasn't disappointed. A true gem of a place and wonderful hosts. Beautiful lake front, great ice cream shack, well groomed and maintained. Jerry and Cathy do it right and obviously take pride and love what they do.

Amazing place to stay and the best hosts that anyone could ever ask for!! Have visited several times for snowmobile weekends and have never been disappointed with our stay- great cottages that are clean and warm when you arrive. Cathy and Jerry kept us up-to-date with the latest riding conditions and the updated maps.

Once again, Cathy and Jerry made every aspect of our stay enjoyable.
Our snow season in NH has been less than desirable and the fate of our snowmobiling trip for MLK weekend was questionable. Cathy kept us up to date with the latest snow falls and conditions for weeks prior, putting our minds at ease. Everything worked out and it ended up being a great riding weekend.
The cabins are always clean, neat and extremely accommodating.
We always feel "at home" at Partridge Cabins! Thank you, Jerry and Cathy! Hope to see you soon.

We've travelled quite a bit but normally on more "typical" trips. Flight from BWI, normal chain hotel, wifi, cell, etc. We had seen a TV piece about Moose Alley and decided to try something a bit different not knowing exactly what awaited us because we knew from previous experience that moose encounters are pretty thrilling.
From the moment we arrived we knew that we were in for a really good time. Cathy was in the ice cream stand. She greeted us like old friends. She made our dinner reservation and gave us all the local info we needed. When we mentioned paying our outstanding bill she said she'd get it later. Can't remember that ever happening at a Hilton or Marriott.
We stayed in Moose Cabin. Absolutely unbelievable. Lakefront. Beautiful interior. Wood accents everywhere along with, naturally, moose everything. Fully equipped with things like a checker board in the loft, playing cards, magazines and books. Kettle grill and fire ring on the patio. Much thought must have gone in to making guests comfortable.
Jerry was working hard keeping the grounds manicured but still had time to say hello and give some tips on spotting moose and other local wildlife.
We had Chamber of Commerce weather with a full moon reflecting off the lake. Cool nights and gorgeous days. Trees beginning to turn. Quiet, relaxing environment. This place is really nice.
All this said we were looking for moose. No luck the first day although the drive is great without a sighting. We were within sight of our cabin on the second day about to call it off and there he was up close and personal. Mission accomplished.
Even if you are more the city types like us you should do yourself a favor and check out Pittsburg and especially Partridge Cabins. Jerry and Cathy are great hosts. The accommodations are super and the laid back, friendly people in the area are a refreshing change.
We'll be back.

I'm not usually one to go online to review places. But I needed to review Partridge Cabins. My girlfriend and I went up snowmobiling there last winter, and what a blast! The owners were fantastic, incredibly accommodating. After a long drive up in the snow, it was nice to be greeted with a warm smile and down to earth people when you checked in. Lodging was great. Very welcoming. There were a couple cabins next to us and the people there were great. We were all there to have fun!
It was super convenient too. All we had to do was hop on our sleds right outside the cabin, and away we went. Easy to get to the trails. I would recommend this place for sure, for couples or for a group of guys heading north with snowmobiles! We will definitely be back again!

As a bird hunting enthusiast Partridge Cabins is the perfect place to call "home" while hunting with family and friends. While Jerry and Cathy cater to all north country tourists, they certainly make our party of eight hunters feel welcome every hunting season. The cabins are wonderful, (our favorites are Hubbard and Webster) providing enough rustic ambiance balanced with all the amenities one needs to make for an excellent vacation. The property is spacious and the scenery magnificent. We have been staying there for over ten years.
