My friend and I happened upon The Inn at Bear Tree via internet search and we are so glad that we did! We stayed in the lodge and it was perfect. The staff, Jane, was helpful in finding a corkscrew and a clicker for the fire outside- they have a fire pit you can use and enjoy, which we did- as well as telling us about local eats. The lodge has a lobby with comfy couches and a gas fireplace to enjoy; it overlooks the lake- beautiful views. We had access to a toaster, microwave, and a kuerig and there was a small fridge in our room to use. We ate dinner at the Buck Rub Pub and Grampy's and had breakfast at The Happy Corner Cafe- everything was delicious. Make sure to order cinnamon rolls at Green Acres Bakery- to die for. We hope to come back and enjoy this place again! They also have kayak rentals! Many hikes to do and search for moose!

I have been to Bear Tree for the past several years and it has become a family favorite summer spot. I have two sons - 18 and 31 and they still want to go on vacation with me - especially when the vacation is to Bear Tree! The location is perfect - nestled in the woods with stunning views of the lake. For the second year in a row, I rented Salmon Leap lodge - one of my sons brought his girlfriend and there was plenty of space for all five of us to spread out and enjoy the property. Our days were filled with hiking, kayaking, golfing (in nearby Colebrook) and the nights were filled with laughter, cooking together, games and ending the evening around the campfire. Nothing tastes better than a hotdog cooked over an open flame, but they have a full kitchen, gas grill and all the amenities you could ask for. One night we decided not to cook and had a delicious meal at Murphy's Steakhouse and the management was highly responsive to any request that we had. If you want to get away from it all and make some lasting memories, Bear Tree Cabins is the place to go!

We stayed in the lodge at The Glen many years ago with a birding group, back when Betty was the owner. This time we opted for a cabin. It was lovely - great views of the lake and very comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for most meal prep but did lack a cutting board and decent knives. Be aware that nearly every guest has a dog and they can sometimes be noisy and intrusive. We wanted to hear the Loons, not the barking dogs in the next cabin!

This was everything I was looking for and more. Cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. Front porch gives wonderful view of water where we spotted geese, loon and even a family of otters swimming by. Quiet and beautiful. Enjoyed kayaks which were conveniently available. Chantal is extremely helpful and makes everything easy. Makes it hard to consider staying anywhere else. Pictures are of otter family and sunrise from dock.
