We enjoyed our stay there. The beach, lake and kayaking was great. As far as the cottages, management should keep the cottages clean, mattresses very dirty and kitchen cabinets and dishes were not so clean. I think for the price you pay sheets and linens should come with it, dont think guest should be charged for them. Waited 30 minutes for the cottage to be ready. No one from the office was wearing a mask!

Hello there! Thank you so much for your feedback! Cleanliness is very important to us and we appreciate that you've told us about the state of your cottage. You're right, mattresses and eating areas should absolutely be clean and ready for a camper's arrival. We will be forwarding your experience to our housekeeping team so we can improve moving forward. We have also noted your suggestion about including linens with our cottages when you book. Thank you so much again and please take care!

This was our first time at Westward shores. The full hookup campsite was clean but being a new site there was little separation between the other adjoining campsites. The cable TV hookup didn't work and when I asked for help at the office no one ever came by to see what was wrong.
With that being said, Ossipee lake and the Westward Shores waterfront is beautiful and the lake overcame any issues we had with the campsite.

We were a bit disappointed in this campground. We paid near $90.00 a night. The site was littered with trash (which they came and promptly cleaned up when we complained). They advertise cable,
well that’s a laugh and they know it, so they really need to take that off their site advertisement. The roads are not paved which is OK in a campground but very very dusty.
Overall it is a family friendly campground but something I would expect to pay about 60 or $65 a night. On hindsight we could’ve gone up the road to a KOA Holiday and paid 65 and had paved patio on site Wi-Fi and cable,

Hi Cathy, thank you for your review! We're glad you told our staff about the trash that was on your site because we take the cleanliness of our camp-resort very seriously, especially for a camper's first day. We apologize that the cable was unsatisfactory, we have noted your experience and can look into improving it for future seasons. In regards to our dirt roads, we try to water them down as often as we can with the help of another company, but their availability is limited. We like to remind our campers that our rates don't just cover your campsite, but they also give you access to the variety of amenities and activities that are available at the park during your visit! Thank you again for your feedback -- we're always looking to improve!

Honestly this is the worst experience I have had in a long time. First, it cost us almost $500 to book for ONE night. They promised all these cool amenities for the kids. When we got there we realized they over charged us almost $30... which they fixed. We got In our cottage and seen that there was no linen on ANY of the beds, the queen bed has a disgusting brown stain on it, and there was a dirty glove on the counter. We booked that cottage knowing we would have a golf cart to use around the resort but then quickly realized 7 people don’t fit on one golf cart and they had the audacity to say we could rent the bigger one for MORE money after shelling out almost $500. Then we go to go use one of there “AWESOME” amenities that they promised and the jumping pillow wasn’t in service. The beach in our back yard (which was supposed to be peaceful) was overcrowded with tons of people and trash everywhere! So much for social distancing. I will NEVER stay here again. Seriously. Save your money and go to a better resort.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry that you did not have a great experience with us. Thank for letting us know about the overcharge, we were glad to fix it when we were made aware. Likewise, we're happy to fix or clean anything in your cottage if we are notified that there's something wrong. We do have linens available for our cabins as an add-on, and we're glad to make your beds for you if you let us know that you're interested! We apologize that you were inconvenienced by our golf carts. We have pictures of the standard golf carts on our website and our booking software, and they are shown to have seats for 4 people only. This is why we added the limo carts which have more seating. We have fewer limo carts available, which is why there is a higher rate. In regards to the jumping pillow, I believe this was just unlucky timing. There was one day when a plug on the pillow broke and it needed to be replaced. The pillow was closed for half a day so we could install the replacement. This is important to us because we value the quality of our amenities and the safety of our campers. This sort of fix does not happen often and we are very sorry. Thank you for letting us know about your experience at the beach. We are encouraging our campers to social distance and we care very much about the cleanliness of our public areas. Your experience will be shared with our team so we can continue to make improvements to our camp-resort. Thank you again for your feedback, and please take care!

We’ve been here for years has a seasonal. Ever since Northgate out of MI bought this place they have done nothing but nickel and dime everyone. They even charge for activities for the children. Every year they go up in price. This year is the worst they went up $600 to $1700 depending on your site. They justify it because they say they are a resort but there is is no resort amenities, no Wifi, cable, they advertise pull thru sites but don’t have any. They are building a pool in the middle of a dirt parking lot, which you have to pay to use. It was so full on 4th of July weekend it too me 45 min to get out of the parking lot. How is that safe! What if there was a fire. These people (Northgate) have bought 3 campgrounds in NH and they are ruining them all. It’s so sad but they can do what they want. People are paying there enormous site, cabin, and transient fees when it’s not worth it.

After 10 years it’s time to leave my happy place.

Hello Ann, thank you for taking the time to post this review. We understand that our price increases will not be happy news to everyone, but we do believe that our rates are indicative of the services that we provide at Westward Shores. Our prices don't just cover your cottage or campsite, they also give you access to most of the amenities and activities that are available across the park. It is included in the price. In addition, we do our best to make improvements every season. As you've mentioned, we will be adding 2 new pools in 2021, which will allow more people to relax by the water while also taking traffic away from the beach. 4th of July weekend was very busy for us this season and we did learn from that experience. Since then, we have had a greater awareness of how many people our campground can reasonably accommodate, and we have since planned our programming with capacity in mind. We prepared for Labor Day Weekend and did not see the same congestion that you saw on the 4th, and we will bring this same level of planning into future seasons as well. Thank you again for your honest feedback and for your years of loyalty, Ann! Please take care.

We parked our trailer here for a week recently. Very dusty campground. Equipment needed washing when we got home. All amenities for travel trailers present, except for cable. Some staff friendly, some staff rude. One person says “ no golf carts available “ and the next person rents us a cart. One staffer says “ no more people “ can go on the waiting list for a seasonal site while another adds us to the list. Fairly expensive. Lake Ossipee is what makes this place work. Beautiful sandy lake lots of room in the water, beach is a little tight. Spent all day every day at the lake that was great. Family friendly

Had site 531, so dusty, no shade. Golf carts (none to rent) and cars drive way too fast, no wifi, no cable, no pool (rules state no small pools even at campsite) but so many rules that no one follows, Beach was way too small. Would have loved to rent kayaks but no life jackets were able to be given out because of covid. Wish we knew that before we went. I won't stay here again until major upgrades happen.

Hello, thank you for giving us this feedback! We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with some of the things you saw at our campground. We have a 5mph speed limit for all vehicles on our roads and we are usually very good at monitoring this, but we cannot be in every place at once. We hope that you and your party weren't harmed by those who chose to drive too fast, because the rule is in place to keep everyone safe! We are looking to add new amenities for next season, including 2 new pools! Our hope is that this will give campers more of a chance to cool down and relax while taking foot-traffic away from the beaches! We did our best to notify campers that they needed to bring their own life jackets for water rentals during the COVID outbreak. We noted this in our upcoming stay emails and on our website in many places. We are so sorry that you were inconvenienced by this. Your experience will help us to improve. Thank you so much again and please take care!

Their website shows they have 2 pools which have been under construction since we were there in (May 2020 and still in July 2021..14 months later). It should state that pools coming soon! Their website also states they have a water trampoline in the lake. Evidently this had popped and they did not update their website to specify that. Those were the main reasons we went back 14 months later to try them out. Our kids were very disappointed. They have a giant pillow trampoline by the pavilion and that was pretty cool.

They had 2 pedal boats to rent and I'm not sure on # of kayaks. I only used the bathroom by the beach which was small but clean. Campground was clean. They did have a band which was really good! The cable only had 2 channels both of which were church channels. I'm catholic but not exactly what I wanted to watch. Our section if the campground (across from pool #605) did not have wifi (yet) so no watching Netflix or anything like that.

We had an amazing time everything was fantastic. The store closed early on Sunday and we still needed wood and wanted to rent a kayak so we went to the front desk and they were so helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed to finish up our stay. Plenty of amenities. Will definitely be staying again.

We have stayed at WWS. We used to be seasonal. This place used to a great camp ground. Now it’s just a wanna be resort. It’s too expansive. Nothing is open or works there..... no laundry, no snack shack, most bathrooms are closed, pool has been under construction for years, leaves are everywhere, trash compactor it ALWAYS broken, WIFI doesn’t work, the staff has excuses for EVERYTHING!! ..It’s a camp ground. But they want everyone to think it’s a resort. They have inflated all the prices for seasonal and weekenders and they can’t keep up with their own standards....very poorly run.
See you later WWS....

You can see our hours of operation on our website "Guest Dashboard", which is updated before every weekend, here: https://www.westwardshores.com/guest-dashboard/ We understand your frustration with our trash compactor and our wifi. We are currently looking to upgrade these conveniences so our campers can use them reliably, and we apologize if they were not available to you when you were here. In regards to our pool, we're planning to open it this summer, and we provide progress updates in our monthly newsletter, "Lake Life News"! (on our website).
