Called a week before to see if our cabin was available the day before arriving! Was told to call the day before. Well it was available so asked what the rate would be it was $625!!! Could not believe it! Instead of making some money they chose not to give us a lower rate. So asked since it was available if we could check in earlier? Was told 1pm! Arrived a little earlier around 12 pm. The woman were so rude said check in is at 4pm! I told them about the phone call. Told it was not clean! Asked if we could go to drop off things at my sisters who arrived the day before! They said yes but don’t you DARE go near your cabin! It was available shortly after that! They gave us a packet and did not tell us there was a car tag in it! When I asked one of the woman she rudely said we have to ask for it! Really ! That’s unbelievable! For the money we paid to be treated like that will not be back! We were treated like children! They need a lesson in manners & customer service!…
I was looking for a campground at the very last minute and we fell upon this campground as it offered cabins. They are a bit pricey, but well worth every penny. It was immaculate, friendly, with lots of actives for the kids. Very relaxing. There are two BIG pools -- one outdoor and one in a greenhouse like structure. There are also two beaches -- albeit not that large, but so sandy and shallow that they are perfect for younger children. They are also dog-friendly!
We rented a cabin July 1-4 for 5 of us. This cabin could accommodate up to 8 people.... We took it because that is all there was at the time we booked. You could tell the cabin was fairly new. Everything looked to be in mint condition and it had a full kitchen with everything we expected it to have. The only downfall with the cabin was the loft.... It was super hot up there, even with the A/C running....and of course that is the place my teen chose to sleep, so I went to a nearby store and bought her a fan, so she was happy! We paid a good chunk of change for 2 full days, 1 evening, and 1 morning for a cabin with a hot tub. Check in is after 4 pm & check out is at 11 am..... so no enjoyment at all on arrival & departure dates! You have time for unpacking & settling in on arrival date and time for packing back up & cleaning on departure date. I did enjoy the 2 full days of much needed relaxation in the sun with my teen daughter. We enjoyed a lot of lake & pool lounging, my husband loves to golf, so he spent his time at a nearby golf course, and our 8 year old enjoyed the playgrounds & splashing around the lake with his Papa. We enjoyed listening & dancing to an 80's band on the beach & watching the fireworks over the lake. So the 2 full days we spent here were definitely enjoyed, but I don't think it was $1700 worth of fun....maybe the price was higher due to it being 4th of July, who knows! We also got to watch a big old black bear roam around. He stopped to check us out as we sat on the porch on our last evening there. He even posed for photos! Then he was on his merry little way! We had a nice short get-a-way and enjoyed the company of a bear!…
We have been camping at Westward Shores for several years now. Each time is a great camping experience. We stayed at the Lake View Cottage and it had beautiful views. Plenty of room for a family of five . Activities for the kids was great. The pools were awesome as well as the jacuzzi. Hope to be back next summer!
Super expensive. The beach was WAY over crowded. We rented on the Point. All the people on this area share 1 small beach. The regular camp beach had TONS of people. There were police at the public beach 2x An ambulance..... Lots of drama The store was SOOO expensive. We were looking for a peaceful family get away. The weather was nice. The staff was good. Rooms weren't clean. My children hated it there (boy age 10 girl age 8) its just a glorified expensive camp ground
Westward shores camp ground was expensive but well worth it. The grounds were perfect, staff was super nice and helpful, and my camp site was gravel and very clean. If you cook on the fire make sure you have a nice fire ring. Ours was left to be desired.
We had very high expectations of Westwood Shores. The promise of an indoor pool. Activities for the children. Boating, fishing and tubing. The experience was not what we had hoped for. The pool was not open tbe whole weekend. It was a grand opening weekend and limited hours. No outdoor pool access. It was closed. The beach was open and lake was nice but our friends boat got vandalized while in the storage area. Conveniently "out of camera view"! Many items stolen, broken or damaged. So that ended our boating. The campground is now very large since there are over 700 sites and you need a golf cart to get from front to back of campground and up to beach and boat area. So add on additional money for a cart. I think overall it will be a nice campground once they get their own boat area designated, ir let you park on your site. If you own your own golf cart you are golden. Sites are level and nice. Premium sites have no wifi. Overall you pay a lot received very little.…
Westward Shores is bar none one of the best places to vacation. They have a fantastic layout with the lake, snack bar, cottages, pools indoor and outdoor! The staff is amazing as well! I would like to thank Meg Hilton for her amazing knowledge of the resort and for her kindness and overall customer service!! She’s the best! Give her a raise!
I stayed at Westward Shores in Bear Camp Cottage with my family. After a night of heavy rain, the Queen bedroom ceiling leaked all over the bed and pillows. We called the emergency number and someone came right out to assess the leak. We were brought pillows, blankets and sheets to use and I slept in a bunk bed, my husband on the futon. We expressed how inconvenienced we were to say the least at checkout and were told we would get a credit for that night's stay. 3 weeks later and no credit, no response to my email or phone calls. Some "luxury" cottage! They lost a customer.
Their website shows they have 2 pools which have been under construction since we were there in (May 2020 and still in July 2021..14 months later). It should state that pools coming soon! Their website also states they have a water trampoline in the lake. Evidently this had popped and they did not update their website to specify that. Those were the main reasons we went back 14 months later to try them out. Our kids were very disappointed. They have a giant pillow trampoline by the pavilion and that was pretty cool. They had 2 pedal boats to rent and I'm not sure on # of kayaks. I only used the bathroom by the beach which was small but clean. Campground was clean. They did have a band which was really good! The cable only had 2 channels both of which were church channels. I'm catholic but not exactly what I wanted to watch. Our section if the campground (across from pool #605) did not have wifi (yet) so no watching Netflix or anything like that. …
