The host was very nice and the breakfast was good. We had the adjoining rooms that are called an ensuite. The bathroom is located across a public hallway and only has a hand washing size sink. There is absolutely no space to sit toiletries. If we hadn’t had the second room we would not have had anyplace to sit our suitcases. I don’t feel like the description on the website describes the real set-up. Also, the TV didn’t work with the instructions given. The home was clean and views are beautiful. Our room just wasn’t at all what we expected.

Response from Matthew Spofford, General Manager at Samuel O'Reilly House
Responded Oct 9, 2023
Hi Folks! Thanks for leaving feedback - we appreciate your time as always. Glad you enjoyed our made-to-order personalized breakfast and our welcoming demeanor in our 120 year old boutique industrial Bed and Breakfast! Our descriptions in our listing on our website as well as Air BnB speak to the features you are referring to. We understand this busiest time of the year for peak foliage and many guests are not as diligent with reading descriptions thoroughly and are just "booking" a room for leaf viewing. We understand that rooms are finite in our destination location for sure - according to our records you selected the last remaining room available at our Inn for this night. We understand no other options were present at the time of your booking, all other rooms were reserved by earlier booking travelers! The room you selected is our option for two queen bedrooms with it's own private bathroom and designed to travel with close friends or family members. In your particular booking which sleeps 4 guests, we have a dresser with 3 drawers, additional 4 drawers underneath the bed and a luggage rack in each room - we feel this is sufficient for most of the guests staying with us. Had one looked in the drawers located in the room, you would have seen complimentary bathrobes available to use. TV is digital in our area and is streaming as cable no longer comes from a cord to a TV. Sorry to hear you had difficulty navigating our technology with flat screen TV's and streaming box - this is standard equipment for most residential homes and area lodging properties. We hope you enjoyed your tour of North Conway and surrounding areas, In the future I encourage booking earlier to allow the best possible options for your travel.

We absolutely loved the Samuel O’Reilly House. We had the adjoining rooms which was perfect for our family and gave each room privacy and we had an adjacent private bathroom. The place was exceptional clean and the made to order breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed sitting by the firepit which overlooked the river below and had a beautiful view of the mountain. Check in was a breeze and we had preordered champagne and chocolates and it was nice and chill upon our arrival. Bed was extremely comfortable and air conditioner was perfect. Walking distance to restaurants which was nice. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

I am an avid leaf peeper, and I totally enjoy my yearly stays at The Samuel O'Reilly House B&B during this unbelievably beautiful time in New Hampshire. I have stayed there during the foliage season for about the last 5 years and I so look forward to it every year. The Samuel O'Reilly House B&B is located where I have easy access to not only all of New Hampshire (which truly has the best foliage experience) but also to Vermont and Maine with easy day trips to enjoy the foliage and quaint scenes there as well. The B&B offers nice rooms that are updated around a particularly unique theme. The rooms are quite comfortable with wonderful views of the mountains and river. The breakfasts every morning are just the best way to start the day and just plain scrumptious thanks to Chef Wan. Owner and manager Jason and Matt are just the most welcoming for all the guests. It is July and I am already excitedly looking forward to Foliage 2023 experience in New Hampshire and at the Samuel O'Reilly House B&B. As the season is only about 2 weeks there, I want the best and I have found it at the Samuel O'Reilly House B&B

I’m not one to write harsh reviews, and we thought the inn itself was a beautiful property in an ideal location, but felt the price was not worth the issues we had which I’ll list below so that the owner can make adjustments for the future. Upon arrival, we were told that breakfast would be served the following morning and that they would be up for any challenge if we wanted to stray from the menu. Meanwhile, the menu was listed online and was a big reason we chose this place. However, when we arrived at breakfast, we had just 3 options to choose from and were told that they were low on certain items - which is remarkable considering that there are only around 12 guests a night in this place, so keeping things in stock shouldn’t be an issue. I ordered the pancakes which were clearly cooked the day before, stored overnight and then reheated in the oven. The result was a unexpectedly crunchy breakfast. The home fries were definitely from a bag too. Our server never came around to ask how our food was, probably because she knows they served us day-old food, but a note in the lobby did say to share images of our food on social media, so it seems like they’re confident enough in their product. Other issues that we think should be addressed for future guests include: - new locks. The lock on the doors was nearly impossible to open and close, which could definitely pose a risk in the case of emergency exiting the room. - have the AC on in the room prior to the arrival of your guest. It was 80 degrees in there and took hours to get down close to 70. - don’t list queen beds on your site. Our bed was clearly a double. That’s misleading - don’t list the menu on your site or at least indicate that the menu is subject to change. Again, false advertising - put some chairs on the decks. The view and the breakfast were the reason we chose this place and paid a premium and there was no place to sit on our deck - at checkout, ask your guests how their stay was. We weren’t asked and would’ve provided this feedback privately but we felt the lack of checking in on our experience at breakfast and at check out are indicative of the lack of confidence in the product the staff put forth

I am a frequent business traveler and a stickler for cleanliness. This place is spotless and renovated with a cool industrial vibe. Beds are extremely comfortable, sheets soft, and cozy fireplace in both rooms. We had room 7 and 2. Matt was incredibly hospitable , and Chef Juanita and Andrea served us delicious breakfasts and tasty treats - specifically, Baileys brownies- the best brownie I’ve ever had. A must stay and I’d return again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be going back as soon as we can. The home was beautiful and the decor was fantastic. Our room was clean. We felt immediately at home as soon as we stepped in. The owner met us there himself to make sure we didn't have any questions or need anything else. There were great unique breakfast options offered as well as the traditional meals. This is one of our new favorite weekend getaways!

The Samuel O'Reilly Inn is about one mile from downtown North Conway and the accommodations are awesome!!! The room we stayed in was Stacie's View and would definitely book it again. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and a very generous portion size!! Matt was friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The backyard has a view over the Saco River and a nice fire pit as well.

We had a group of 18 for my friend’s bachelorette party weekend. We rented the entire big house! It’s a really cool space, indoors and outside. Amazing location that’s walkable to the Saco river and downtown North Conway. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. I’m hoping to go there again soon.

My Husband and I spent a fantastic long weekend at the Samuel O’Reilly House last month! It took me about two weeks of online searching for just the right place to stay for our first mini-vacation post-COVID. When I found the Samuel O’Reilly House, my decision was made. I reserved the Rose Room for Friday with a Monday checkout. Our room was wonderful with a nice deck off it with a wonderful view. When we arrived, Jason showed us around the inn, explained how breakfast worked and left us to enjoy our weekend! The inn was clean, quirky and very comfortable. And Chef Waneeta’s breakfasts and freshly baked afternoon surprises were without compare! Honestly! Breakfast was absolutely amazing every morning. Then, you’d walk into the inn in the afternoon and the scent of whatever delicious temptation she’d prepared would lead you to a plate full of something you just had to try! Each morning, Andrea would greet us cheerfully, ask us what our breakfast choice was and deliver it with a smile, knowing there was no doubt about how much we’d enjoy it! From the inn we took a ride up to Mt Washington and rode the cog railway halfway up the mountain, spent time shopping in North Conway (we highly recommend visiting the Naked Bohemian, The Penguin Gallery and Beggars Pouch Leathers). Boston Brothers Pizzeria in North Conway had great pizza slices and great service, as well. Now that the Mt Washington cog railway is going all the way up the mountain, we will be heading back to the Samuel O’Reilly House! We are looking forward to enjoying the wonder of Chef Waneeta’s creations and Andrea’s fantastic contributions to a wonderful time away!

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for our wedding anniversary. We booked the Angels view room. Loved how cozy the bed was and tub in the bathroom was a relaxing touch . I love hot baths and this water was steaming! We also enjoyed the cooler weather in a beautiful fall evening with the in room fireplace. Such a cozy romantic room with a beautiful Mountain View from the bed. the view was fantastic and peak fall Foliage was beautiful. We enjoyed the wonderful staff that had real New England charm and hospitality. I was nervous that I would not get a good night sleep because the room was off the main highway however the noise was not an issue at all. I slept so well during our stay. We also loved the private trail on property. The breakfast was so yummy & filling. I am gluten free and I had two choices for breakfast! We loved our time here & will be back again one day soon.
