We recently had a short stay/ mini vacay at Red Jacket Mountain View and we had an excellent time. I have to say, I was a bit nervous while reading the most recent reviews on here, but I am glad I didn't cancel our trip because of it. Arrival/ Check in was quick and although it was not contactless, I felt o.k. because everyone was wearing masks and sanitizer was available. We had a garden view room that had a little porch with 2 chairs and a table. The flowers just outside the room were pretty to look at. I liked how we had 2 entrances/ exits to the room so we didn't have to go through the lobby of the hotel if was busy time of day. The room appearance was neat and clean. It had some updates since we last stayed (8 years ago) (new flooring and bathroom, mattresses, bedding, etc) We appreciated the updates- although there could still be more done (i.e. curtains/ bathroom vanity cabinet). I definitley wouldn't call it 5 star/luxury but fine for what we needed. The first day we got there it was warm so we used the pool and got passes to the indoor water park (Kahuna Laguna). The water park closes at 8:20 . It would be nice if they moved that to 9PM since other activities were closed. We felt fine in the water park as it was surely not at capacity. We know it is during a Pandemic that we had this vacation- so we surely missed the chocollate chip cookies/ story time and well as the crafts and fun activities they usually offer but completly understand and we woyld have not attened anyway. The pool was nice and plenty of spaced apart lounge chairs. It definetly could have been cleaner as water was a little foggy and a lot of sand at the bottom (from the nearby playground). We didn't eat or drink at the hotel restaurant. Well one night we tried to but they closed early at like 7:30 or 8. but instead prefesredWe did eat at many of the local restaurant. There are many great shops, hiking, and kayaking nearby. Don't miss out on a visit to Zeb's for an old fashion rootbeer. Also the Belgian Chocolate Haus is amazing. All in all we had a wonderful time and we would love to visit again another time.

Masks are required and social distancing is enforced. Resort’s capacity is reduced which prevents overcrowding allowing for social distancing. Water park was awesome. Outdoor pool was great. The room was super clean and housekeeping is available up on request. Since our kids heavily rely on the Internet, access in the room was fantastic, ours tested at 76 Mbps, which is hard to come by nowadays in a hotel. However the speed could also be offset by the limited guest capacity. Bring your own Keurig as the coffee machines were removed from the rooms. Coffee is available for purchase, however it’s not so good. Bar was ok with a couple of local brewing choices, for those of us who appreciate this sort of a selection. Visited this location before however this was best experience We’ve had. Currently, also an excellent value for your money!

I read some bad reviews and was anxious to stay here. I pulled up and was impressed front desk were wonderful. my room was 2 queen mountain view, the room was large and very clean. We had some problems getting into our room because we had gone out the other door but guy from front desk came to help and went above and beyond. The water park was great. We did not go to outside pool but it look great. the kids loved the park and having picnics on the picnic tables. When we left we went to dairy queen when i realized I left my money and credit cards in the room I called and went right back and they had it all for me at front desk.Thank you to them for the wonderful service.I cant wait to go back .

Dirty, took 45 mins to check in. Loud noise and stomping all night above us. Dity laundry in entrance way. Smelly lobby. Disgusting., embarrassing, supposed to be a romantic birthday gift. It was very disappointing. Staff were useless. Never again!

A 1 night stay included a nightmare. I actually had no intention of writing any review regarding this property, but their lack of any follow up to our experience led me to realize that this property isn't about taking care of their guests ... they are just all business. In about 2.5 hours time, we had checked into our room, showered, went to dinner and returned to find that hotel staff entered our room, packed up all our stuff, moved it (and no one knew where it was) and checked new people into our room! Here are the details for anyone wanted the full story ... I booked a 1 night stay in a Mountain View Room with water park tickets as a surprise birthday get away for my husband and for our 11 year old son ... who has been pretty isolated during the pandemic. We arrived just before noon to begin enjoying the water park with the understanding that check in was not until 3:30. We had done a pre check-in at front desk (not contactless as web site mentions) and got our waiver for water park. While enjoying the water park (which was smaller than expected but TONS of fun), the front desk did call to tell us our room was ready. We left water park and went to front desk for our key and got that quickly and proceeded to our 3rd floor room. The 3 of us showered and I did some unpacking and hanging of our wet swim attire and set our room up for the night. After about an hour and 15 minutes, we were out the door for dinner just up the road. Upon returning, our room key didn't work. We went to front desk to ask them to reprogram the key and they asked what room we were trying to access. We told them 3XX and they replied that we were in the wrong room. Our room was 2XX. Panic started to set in as I had a picture on my phone of our room number as provided with our keys. They claimed another guest was in 3XX. With some back and forth, and some obvious confusion at the front desk, we were told we were moved but no one knew why and no one knew were our stuff was. My husband and I got no answers as we told them we wanted access to 3XX to make sure all our stuff was removed and they told us no. I argued that our medication was unpacked and tucked away into a hidden nook (out of site of our son - just a habit) and hubby needs his to control his asthma but they told us how great housekeeping was and they would find it. We finally told them that they needed to provide our stuff and a manager or we were calling the police. Finally, we were told our stuff was in fact now placed in OUR room 2XX and they took us there. We found our bags intack but everything I had unpacked was tossed into large trash bag sized clear resort bags ... both wet and dry stuff. I did find our 3 sandwich bags containing our medications (which was a relief because it was scary to not have hubby's and risk asthma flare up and also scary if left behind for someone else to find), our phone chargers, kids electronics, etc. I will also add here that the first room and our new room were the same room type ... both Mountain View balcony rooms, and if fact, the new room was one floor lower and maybe 3 rooms over. We now waited very anxiously at front desk for manager who we were now told was off property but called and would be in soon to meet with us. Meanwhile, in lobby, we waited near tears completely embarrassed and humiliated that my underwear and other belonging had been touched by people I do not know, and during these times of covid, this was NOT ok on any level. When the manager arrived, he was very kind and understanding. He sympathized with what had happened to us and was honest about not knowing what happened but guaranteeing us that it would be investigated and addressed. I truly believe him. I do believe they were horrified about what happened to us and I do believe they will make sure it would not happen again. The manager said they were not charging us for the room, but our response was more of 'we are not comfortable staying and may be leaving now ... so you're giving us a room for free that we never even had except for 75 minutes'? But, after coming slightly down from the anger and humiliation, we really didn't want to take the experience away from our 11 year old who was already watching his parents yell and freak out for the last hour, so we decided to stay. The manager assured us we would be safe and even threw in a breakfast voucher. Again, I truly believe the Manager was honestly sympathetic and did everything he could to help us. If the resort reads this review, please know I do appreciate him and all he did for us. His kindness to us was recognized. So, we arrived to a beautiful resort that could use some love cosmetically, but it has a lot of character. The water park was a blast although smaller that it is portrayed. The rooms were not very well cleaned ... I will say that in both rooms we had to clean up dead bugs and looked like housekeeping did a fast cleaning rather than thorough cleaning. The balcony's were a nice touch, although if sharing space with loud or smoking neighbors could be problematic (but we did not experience that). We received no info about property when we checked in and learned that there really was extremely limited food options available (due to covid I'm sure) but we couldn't even get coffee in the hotel in early evening which was disappointing. The resort did not enforce mask rules for those who find that important. And breakfast options left a lot to be desired. I think they did the best they could, but I have a food allergy and it seemed like it was troublesome for them to accommodate me and all I could get to eat was scrambled eggs (that they agreed to cook in a clean frying pan) and a dole fruit cup. All in all, we enjoyed the scenic get away idea and we enjoyed the water park. We would love to say we'd return, however we still have little confidence in how they operate. And sadly, we sort of hoped someone would have reached out to us after checking out to follow up on our horrible experience. Again, it is that reason alone that I write this review. I do believe our incident was isolated and likely not to repeat, but if it is to happen to anyone else, it is now documented with my review and maybe another and hopefully help future guests make informed decisions about where they spend their vacation.
