Great stay. We stayed in a shared bathroom setup - everything was super clean.

Breakfast was great and included. Blueberry pancakes are excellent.

Owner/staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend. Will be looking forward to going back to this place. They also have great views from their dining area.

We have loved this place for years, and stayed and eaten here on a number of occasions since the 90s. We booked it as part of a New England tour with friends and it was to be a highlight. On sight, we could immediately see that it was run down and needed a coat of paint. The landlord was nowhere to be seen but eventually arrived wearing a food-stained shirt. We did not feel at all welcome. I don't think anyone else was staying and on previous years this place has been heaving. We asked to book dinner only to be told that they don't serve it any more. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms and we were charged a fortune for two teas at the bar (whilst our host ungraciously worked next to me on his laptop) even though I had one tea bag and only requested a top up of water! Maybe there is a sad story behind the demise of this once grand and lovely place. In which case I am truly sorry. If it is simply a question of effort then this is a crying shame as this once gorgeous inn deserves to be loved. The bedrooms are still pretty and one big redeeming feature was the breakfast, served with a smile and hot, fresh pastries. Thank you to the lovely waitress at breakfast. You made us feel better!

Old building, so we got one of their larger rooms with a view, which was still economical for a midweek stay outside the leaf peeking season. The room was a good size and was comfortable and quiet, no TV was good and meant the attractions were outside and the lovely grounds and fine views (albeit that there were not a lot of chairs to relax in outside). Breakfast was very good with freshly made food to order, it did not affect us, but I think that they do make an effort to accommodate dietary requirements. My only gripe was that a "gratuity" was added to the bill on checkout in respect of breakfast service, which was a bit much when we were served by the owner, also there was an envelope in the room begging for tips for the chambermaid, if $10 makes that much difference add it to the room cost and just pay the people concerned (sorry rant over). The bar was extremely old fashioned and still had Christmas decorations up in August, and was not really very comfortable, perhaps during ski season it will be a better place to hang out, but it did not do much to enhance the ambiance for us.

We were looking forward to a nice weekend away and the website seemed intriguing. Our room felt "tired" and not at all clean. There was a giant wet spot on the carpet next to the bed. Upon alerting the proprietor, he told me someone must of spilled some water. I asked for a rug to put over it, since I had already stepped in it twice getting off of the bed. He reluctantly complied. We also found someone else's clothes in one of the dresser drawers!
We spent the night (dingy sheets and uncomfortable bed) and the water had soaked through the rug now. Obviously this was more than a water spill. Also, we mentioned no heat in the room and he offered to bring up a space heater. That is when we decided to check out and not stay another night. No apology or explanation at all. We won't be back there!

This inn was absolutely NOT worth the money we paid to stay there. The room was small, the door locks barely worked and I have had better shower experiences in campgrounds. The entire bulding was in a state of disrepair and all in all did not have ANY of the charms of a typical New England Inn.... We were extremely disappointed and actually offended that they had the nerve to charge over $200 a night to stay in such a shabby environment.

The only good news is that the restaurant was actually quite good. If you are in North Conway, I would suggest eating there but staying some place else....

The place is well positioned with superb views from the rear of the property. The standard of accommodation however is very poor and we were in an old room with a very small window that we could not even open. Appreciate the property is old but when you charge $185 per night you expect more. Cannot fault the welcome particularly the breakfast waitress who was a total ray of sunshine in the place. It looks like she is also the one cleaning your room so remember to tip her handsomely in the envelope provided. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing and you are served a great breakfast which made-up for the disappointment with the room.

Very cute Inn with nice decor in the dining/bar areas, but the accommodations are very disappointing. This place is old and it shows. I like the country/rustic feel, but in a clean and more updated way. Blinds in the bedroom had not been dusted in what looked like a year. The wallpaper was dirty and peeling. The "room with a view" would have had a great view if there wasn't a wall in the way. It seems like nothing has been updated and the walls are paper thin, so good luck sleeping. The floors are very squeaky and noises from below reverberate throughout the house. Water in the shower was intermittent, as was the heat in the room!! The only plus was the great breakfast.

We recently stayed at this hotel, and for $200/night (with a 2 night minimum!) it was absolutely NOT worth the money.

The room was in ill repair, the door barely locked and the shower is pitiful! The water was either scalding hot or freezing cold and it barely came out of the shower head.

The room was noisy and had little charm. This area has many other hotels, so your money is better spent elsewhere.

We heard these complaints from another couple while chatting with them in the bar. So it wasn't just our room.

This hotel has clearly not been maintained over the years, and the owners really need to put some money into it if they expect to remain competitive in the North Conway area.

We would absolutely not stay there again if it was free.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated as though our presence was appreciated. We asked if we could have our dessert outside, in the viewing area, overlooking the White Mountains. They not only accommodated our request, they returned twice for coffee top-up!

The food is top class, the desserts all made from scratch in their kitchen - can't be beat!!

The breakfast was equally enjoyable, a clear morning with a few to the mountains. The rooms are quaint, clean, with good bed and shower. We will stay here again, and recommend the location to whomever will listen.

We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of our room. It was nice to rest, and when we wanted to join civilization, we played cribbage in one of the Inn 's little side rooms. We enjoyed a special drink each evening before dinner in the Inn's pub like bar. We especially were delighted at the onset of the special feel of the approaching Christmas season.
