This was our 3rd NYE get away with this hotel. The remodeling they did during covid came out great. The staff is always super nice. I just wish it was snowing during dinner to get the "snowglobe" effect in the dining room!

We stayed again at the White Mountain Hotel. We had a superior room with a beautiful view. Room was very clean upon check in. We did elect to have maid service each day and no complaints there. Keurig coffee machine in the room was very convienent as well as bottles of water . The pool area is very nice and spaced out and the heated pool is nice for the cooler summer days.

The only thing that wasn’t great was the breakfast service . It’s perfectly fine if you don’t have any plans for the day but if you do, you may want to skip it. We had one day they were 30 minutes behind reservation time and the food took a long time to come out after we ordered. Another day we were told it would be a15 minute wait and it was actually 50. When we were finally sat at a table we waited 10 minutes and no waitress had been over to us yet so we actually left wasting an entire hour for nothing We are traveling with a small child so we planned our reservation time around his schedule and nap time . On our last day Instead of waiting I asked if I could order a pancake to go for my child and was told no, they did not have time and offered a grab and go bag, ( granola/yogurt, banana orange juice etc) which was nothing that he is able to eat. I’m sure with the covid restrictions they are doing the best that they can but is is extremely frustrating to waste the amount of time that we did. I would suggest bringing breakfast items for your room.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and I am sorry about your disappointment with the breakfast delay. You are correct the that COVID-19 restrictions and reduced seating in Ledges Restaurant to operate at only 50% occupany has added some additional challenges for us, and I so apologize. We are truly doing our best under the circumstances and are looking forward to brigher days ahead.

My rating is 3.5. but rounded up to a 4. The location and setting of the hotel are perfect. I’m so glad we stayed here instead of in the town of North Conway. Staff were all friendly and the hotel itself is very nice, in the traditional style (rather than modern). Pool area was good - plenty of seating. Pool not the cleanest I’ve seen, but still fine. Tavern is nice for a drink and all staff were friendly - you can also eat in there. I’ve reviewed Ledges restaurant separately - you need bookings for both dinner and breakfast.

The rooms are nice but pretty small. Our King room apparently sleeps 4 but we were cramped with 3 of us (2 adults and 1 kid). Comfy beds though, decent shower, and it was very quiet during our stay in peak summer.

There is no real housekeeping. We had someone come in once during our four night stay and all they did was empty bins and change towels. I assume this is due to staff shortage, which is a big problem nationwide at the moment, so no big deal.

I was disappointed to see that the hotel has not updated its mask protocols to align with CDC recommendations, in light of the new Delta variant. This states (as at 18 August) that even vaccinated people should be wearing masks indoors in areas of high transmission (which the hotel currently is). None of the staff wear masks at any time, and the vast majority of guests didn’t. Including young kids who of course we all know aren’t vaccinated. Something to bear in mind if this is important to you.

We would stay here again if ever in the area.

We were in room 214, which is one of a limited number of dog friendly rooms. The staff was friendly and welcoming to our dog. We would have preferred a $50 fee and skip the dog gift bag, since $75 is a bit high.

The room decor is dated, but the bathrooms were nice enough and very clean. We liked the Aveda toiletries. There were only 2 bath towels and we expected 2 per guest (4 total).

The AC/heat unit didn't work at all and the room was very hot. We had both windows open 5-10" to try to cool the room with below freezing night temps and it was still so hot we had a hard time sleeping. We were so sleepy that we didn't bother calling the front desk to get Engineering to fix the AC.

It wasn't easy to find or reach an outlet in which to plug in our phone chargers.

The light outside the window was very bright until it was turned off at 11:30pm, well after we tried to go to sleep. The roller shade on the window didn't stay down. This was particularly frustrating since the light outside was so bright. The shades really didn't do enough to block out the light.

Breakfast was included. The home fries with the breakfast were soggy and salty. They appeared to have come out of the freezer and been microwaved, which was not appealing. Also, the plates were garnished with orange slices that weren't fresh. It looked like they had been cut the day before and had been left uncovered to wilt. The omelette was delicious, as was the breakfast sandwich, but the presentation and sides brought the whole experience down.

We loved the location and proximity to North Conway, without being on the main street, though we stayed at another place which was on the main street the next night, after deciding to stay in the area another day.

We've never stayed in a cleaner or better maintained hotel. Our king suite was spacious and perfect. Their restaurant, Ledges, is exquisite too! A full breakfast (not continental) is included in the room rate and the dinner menu has something for everyone.

This hotel is sparkling clean and full of fun amenities (in-house restaurants, heated outdoor swimming pool & hot tub, sauna, pickleball courts, game room, lounge with fireplace, etc.). You can access many great hikes without getting in your car. Rooms are bright and attractively designed in a modern, streamlined style with naturalistic accents. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free coffee available at all times in a pantry on each floor. Restaurant food is delicious, if a bit heavy and short on vegetables. The only complaints were that mattresses are quite soft and pillows quite thick and hard, giving me a sore back and stiff neck. And that, like most places during this pandemic / recession, they are understaffed, so the waiting time to order and receive food was very slow at all meals.

My husband and I took a quick staycation at the White Mountain Hotel. It was just what we needed. We ordered up drinks and apps at the Tavern - truffle fries, Cesar salad and chicken wings. I had an Espresso Martini that was tasty.

The room was immaculate and it was a treat to hang out in big fluffy white robes and sip sparkling water from the new guest pantries on each floor. We slept in, had a great full breakfast in the dining room and then lounged in our room another few hours before check out. What a TREAT.

If you need a break and some alone time with your significant other, this place is the best.

My kids and I stayed for two nights during a family get-together nearby and loved it. The hotel's location is ideal being so close to the center of North Conway but separated enough to be completely peaceful. The distance between the two isn't easily walkable with young kids but the short drive to town and back is beautiful. The rock ledge and Cathedral Ledge behind the hotel made for beautifully dramatic scenery. The hotel was in great shape inside and out and the staff were always friendly, available, professional, and helpful.

The hotel was recently renovated so the guest rooms are essentially brand new. Moderate hiking trails are accessible from the parking lot. A lovely benefit is the coffee pantry located on each floor of the inn with a variety of Keurig amenities. The hotel is off by itself, so you must drive to do anything other than go hiking or play golf. We stayed in mid-July and were surprised by the volume of families with children. Unfortunately, the Inn's dining room was not renovated and, although it maintains a lovely mountain view, it is one big room that is very noisy when filled with children who aren't used to eating in public. I recommend avoiding the hotel when children are not in school. Otherwise, it's a great choice in the North Conway area. Housekeeping services were not provided daily while we were there, but we had one day of housekeeping for our 4 night stay.

Yes plenty of areas in the parking lot to smoke. Plus if you golf you have that option as well. You'd need to move away from both doors but ample around the property.

Yes we are certainly "family friendly". Our entire menu is available both in Ledges Restaurant and Tullamore Taven, so you can pick which location you are most comfortable in. We also offer outdoor deck dining in good weather, or you can take your dinner "to go" and enjoy it poolside at one of the dining tables. I can assure you that Ledges Restaurant is definitely "family friendly" and children are welcome. Enjoy your stay. Carol Sullivan, Owner

You'd have to check with the facility -- I imagine outside smoking is acceptable, although I did not notice a specific area. There is a very large lawn area surrounding the hotel.
