The title of my review pretty much says it all. Rooms are clean, beds and pillows are comfortable. Looking out the window at the lake and sitting on the deck is worth a million bucks. Did it in the summer, fall, and even this winter when it was -3 degrees in the morning. Close to the beach (while either sunbathing or walking on the frozen lake), Mt Sunapee, and several nice restaurants within a few minute drive. Steve and Cindy are great hosts. Already booked for next summer and fall and might squeeze in a trip in the spring to make it four seasons in a row.
We went to the Sunapee area after seeing an episode of Chronicle that was about the Lake Sunapee area. We stayed a few days in September and loved it and met a nice couple next door on the porch, with a beautiful view of Lake Sunapee. We liked it so much we booked again for the foliage in October. Built in the 50's, simple, VERY clean, and priceless view. I sorta want to keep it a secret but the owners, Cindy and Steve, deserve a great review for this little gem.
We were vacationing in NH to visit with our daughter and grandsons. We have stayed in the New London - Sunapee area several times in the past but THIS time, it was the BEST. This is the first time we have been able to book at the Lake Inn and it did not disappoint! The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating, the room clean, comfortable as spacious. Then, there is the Location! The view from the room is fantastic and we spent hours on the screened porch soaking it in. The Lake Inn is conveniently located near everything - the state beach, the Mt Sunapee ski area and all the amenities of the Lake Sunapee area. We will definitely look to stay here on our future trips to the area.
Found this online on our trip from Portland to Lake George as a resting spot. I only hope the lake George resort is as nice as this place. Conveniently located close to the beach and restaurants and cleaner than any higher priced hotels we have stayed at. We’ll definitely be back. We usually stay at Quality Inn or Comfort Inn but The Lame Inn has us thinking little local places are better.
We stayed one night on our way to the shore. Upper level king room had a nice view of the lake. Inn was quiet with not many guests but road noise was a little distracting. Bed was excellent and pillows were wonderful! We don't usually comment on pillows but these were excellent-- fluffy and soft, not lumpy. Room was very clean and simply decorated but a little dated. Bathroom small but clean, with toiletry amenities. Baseboard heat made some noises in the night. Breakfast bar in lobby had coffee, tea, cocoa and a few donuts. Owners are pleasant and respond when you ring bell at desk. It is really a small motel converted to an inn atmosphere.
The Lake Inn has fantastic views of Lake Sunapee! Only 12 rooms and the owners, Steve & Cindy are awesome hosts! Nice fire pit facing the lake. My girlfriends and I really enjoyed our stay here and if I ever make it back to that part of the country, I will most definitely stay at The Lake Inn at Mt. Sunapee again! We loved every minute of our stay! Thank you Steve & Cindy for being such wonderful hosts to this Texas girl. I highly recommend this place. Very simple, but perfect.
Perched at the southern base of Lake Sunapee, The Lake Inn offers splendid water views. Recent renovations create a cozy ambiance with comfortable beds and soft fluffy pillows. I also appreciated the convenience of the small refrigerator and microwave. Steve and Cindy, the inn owners, are delightful and eager to accommodate requests. The Lake Inn is a gem providing great value in a beautiful surrounding. I look forward to returning.
We found this Inn driving by on our way to Vermont. We stopped in to see if there was a vacancy and there was. It was older and not updated, but to us that added to the charm. The view of the lake was incredible and the sound of the frogs and birds was music to our city ears. The people running the inn are very sweet and helped give us directions to a local laundromat. Would definitely stay here again.
Great view of the lake. Super location. The screened in - private porch was an unexpected bonus. The floor felt wonky. In several places it felt like walking on a thin sheet of plywood instead of solid flooring.
The accommodations were simple, clean and the view was wonderful when I woke up! The Inn owner Steve was great to work with. He had coffee and pastries ready for us in the morning, an added benefit I wasn't expecting.
