My wife and I spent a weekend at the Inn several weeks ago. Its location is perfect for exploring the region. Our room was cozy and completely updated, right down to a wonderful mattress and room controlled hot water heat, which gave us a toasty autumn morning. The shower was perfectly designed and fitted out to help recover from a day of hiking. The grounds were serene with back yard tables and chairs facing a pond, creating a meditative atmosphere. The icing on the cake was breakfast. Sitting at a tastefully decorated room with morning sun streaming in. Then there’s the five-star restaurant breakfast, blueberry pancakes one morning and a Frittata the next. For me, the highlight of the stay was sipping that fresh brewed coffee during a lingering morning conversation with Paul and Yvonne, the Innkeepers; like being reunited with long lost friends.…
The Inn and its owners, Paul and Yvonne, offer an excellent experience. Breakfasts are great. Rooms nicely decorated and comfortable. Very conscious of and compliant with Covid best practices. Highly recommend.
I stayed with Paul and Levon at King Hill last minute for two nights. I have a child that goes to school locally, and was in town to accommodate the move in. I hadn't planned on staying, and initially didn't like the 2 night minimum. This place is GREAT. It was quiet, cozy, and very comfortable. Each room has its own bathroom, and the beds/bedding are soothing. The breakfast they serve is nothing short of exquisite, they let you choose from a small menu the evening prior, and they're ready for you at breakfast time. The company was great, and the building itself has some great character. Here's the summary of the people that run this place: They told me to call them if my child EVER needed anything (because they know I live out of town). The nicest people you'll meet, and I will absolutely stay there many times in the future. Oh, last thing: they're "foodies", and they serve about 20 tables most nights. They serve dynamic meals based on whatever is fresh and/or recently harvested. I would highly suggest getting a meal at this place even if you don't stay there. I would give 6 stars if I could. . . .…
We had an incredibly relaxing stay at the King Hill Inn over the 4th of July while attending family festivities at Pleasant Lake. Paul and Yvonne are very welcoming hosts and attended to our every need. Every night when we returned to the inn we were all excited about meeting for breakfast the next day on the screen porch - the setting and Paul's cooking are that good. Our room was quiet, very comfortable and provided us a view of the beautiful grounds. The location is very convenient to the lake and downtown New London. Our only regret was that our schedule did not allow to have dinner at the inn - it looks amazing.
Paul and Yvonne are extraordinary hosts! Extremely clean, beautifully decorated inn. Breakfast overlooking beautiful grounds. Friendly people who care about their guests. Cozy game room to read or play pool at night. We regretfully did not have the opportunity to eat dinner at the inn. We hope to return if we are in New London. Thanks for the hospitality and great stay!
