Lovely place, nicely decorated for Christmas. The buffet was delicious and the ambiance great. We would spend Christmas there again. Found a lovely church for Christmas Eve and we walked around the town a bit, too

Hotel's Favorite
As you drive up to the place, you were enamored with how beautiful it looks outside and even more so when you get inside. It dates back to the 1800’s with 20th century technology. It has a spacious indoor swimming pool, spa and a nice restaurant. Bathroom 🚽Floor was heated, the shower was roomy and very clean with a Great Shower 🚿 head and endless hot water. Their is also a a very nice sink with bright light so if you want to put on a little makeup 💄 you can, also they included a nice little makeup mirror 🪞 next to the sink that you can pull close to your face if you wear glasses like me. Big bonus points at my age. They also include all of the amenities you’ll need in the bathroom, soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, cotton balls and so on. TV 📺 Was very easy to operate and the TV Guide Chanel was easy to use. The whole system here was idiot proof, some days hotel tv’s are horrible, not here. The bed 🛌 was soft and warm and I slept like a baby all night and woke refreshed and energized. The lights next to the bed were dimmable and on both sides of the big roomy bed you had USB jacks and receptacles for plugging in just about everything. You have a small refrigerator, a small, safe to keep personal belongings safe, and they have a cute little coffee center. 2 bottles of water were left in each room. If you have a camera 📸 bring it with you, the whole area is very photogenic. It’s wheelchair accessible, children friendly - in fact kids will have a fun time exploring nature all around this beautiful place. Do you need to exercise? Well they have a nice little exercise room with plenty to do in there. Spa to brighten up anyone’s day and make you feel energized & invigorated. Parking 🅿️- well there’s plenty of that to and you can fit some very big trucks in the parking lot. The restaurant offers fine dining or you can get a flat bread 🫓 pizza 🍕 that is very tasty 😋 I enjoy the staff, food and accommodations, definitely a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Resort

Be careful as the size of the rooms varies widely from spacious to extemely small, barely bigger than than the king bed. This is typical of historic hotels, but you don't want to get stuck paying $500 for a broom closet. Also there is a resort surcharge of $30 added to each room night, so read the fine print. I think this resort is better suited to families with small kids who want to hang at the pool, then young couples who want to enjoy Portsmouth and go out to dinner, walk around, go to bars, etc. It is about 15 minutes to Portsmouth or you are stuck at the high priced venues on the property. One exception, you can drive 5 minutes to Great Island Cafe in New Castle which has superb breakfast sammies and legendary blueberry muffins. There is also a cute marina boardwalk with a cafe (you cannot charge to your room). There is no business center on the property so if you need to print, you are out of luck. They have balcony rooms at an upgrade price, but those balconys have no furniture so some guests put their own camp chairs and table outside which is an odd luck at an upscale hotel.

Wentworth is everything that you’d want in a seaside hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the restaurant is amazing, and our kids absolutely loved the outdoor and indoor pools. It also has a fantastic spa if you need to relax and rejuvenate. For those looking to dock their boat, or rent locally, the marina is very convenient adjacent from the property. Wentworth will be a place we come back to every time we visit New England!

My husband & I recently stayed for a quick get away. We were concerned because of the some the negative reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has maintained aspects of the turn of the century hotel with modern updates. We found the staff amazingly accommodating and pleasant and felt they were on par with the Four Seasons hotels. Special shout out to Dan the bartender at the pool and Rachel our waitress at Salt. Hotel arranged golf for us at the Wentworth Country Club and the course is beautiful. We will return in the fall for sure.

HI EVERYONE! OMG!!! The resort is 2nd to none and a GREAT place to relaxxxxx and unwind. My wife's birthday and boy o boy from the impeccable service to that beautiful cheese platter, fruit bowl and sparkling mineral water (complements of the house I might add) A FANTASTIC STAY INDEED! A well-earned and deserved SHOUT OUT to JULIANNA AT THE FRONT DESK. From the greeting we received coming to the time we were leaving she went out of her way making us feel so welcome and what she did about a billing question went above the already high bar in place. A REPRESENTIVE TO WENTWORTH BY THE SEA AT ITS FINEST. THANKS AGAIN HOWIE & GAIL E 8/5/23

We were there for an extended family luncheon but did not stay at the facility. We settled in an attractive, privite dining room. Service was prompt but not particularly skilled. Food varied from very good to presented cold and sent back to reheat. Also, it came in fits and starts. Some of us were finishing when others were served.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Wentworth by the Sea hotel! The stunning beauty, outstanding amenities, and exceptional service made our vacation truly unforgettable. The inside and outside pools were delightful, and the tennis court was in impeccable condition. The mesmerizing view surrounding the hotel added a touch of magic to our stay. We appreciated the state-of-the-art gym facilities, and the poolside dining with delicious food and exceptional service by Chad and especially Keira was a highlight. The hotel restaurant, Salt was also great, with great service provided by Cameron! While our stay was amazing, we suggest the hotel consider refreshing bed linen when there are spots. Additionally, embracing sustainability by reducing plastic use would be a positive step forward. Despite these minor points, our time at Wentworth by the Sea hotel was exceptional, and we look forward to returning for another dreamy escape! Highly recommended!

Wentworth By The Sea is an amazing hidden gem just an hour away from where we live! We have been coming here every summer in August for 17+ years.. The property is stunning and so well maintained. It's a grand hotel, with so much history and the perfect location for a family vacation, summer wedding or a corporate retreat. Thank you Jason Bartlett, Hotel Manager and his great team for welcoming us back - we had the best of times...once again! From the moment we arrive we are so relaxed and forget everything else around us, nothing is pressing. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, simply incredible overlooking a marina filled with beautiful boats. In the summer we love staying in the Marina suite rooms (our favorite). These rooms (1 and 2BR available) are townhouse style with everything you need including a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stovetop, microwave and a Nespresso machine...with your own private pool exclusively for Marina suite guests. We stayed in a 2BR Marina Suite this week with our son and his dog, we had the best of times celebrating my husband's 70th birthday while creating new memories. Weather was perfect too! I love their texting service where they contact you the day before your arrival, to welcome you and make themselves available throughout...right on through thanking you for your stay! In case you are new to southern NH, the Portsmouth area is wonderful to explore, it's so quaint although there is no need to leave this property as it has it all! Their SPA is amazing, massage therapists are so well trained - always a special treat. The restaurants, whether SALT or Latitude are delicious...both serving the BEST Lobster Roll and Chowder you'll ever have! Poolside service is also a plus, no need to move - they are there for you! Thank you again and we look forward to returning next summer and a winter getaway in between! PS: I understand their gift shop is being renovated and can't wait, always could find tasteful and unique gift items and there will also be a salt room too!

Incredible, elegant, and relaxing stay from start to finish! Initially, we were a bit apprehensive because we read a few negative reviews, but I can assure you this property has the most highly trained staff and management. The grounds are breathtakingly groomed and the rooms are plush and very clean. Everyone we encountered during our stay exceeded our expectations with outstanding personality and above and beyond customer service. We dined at the bar at Salt, sat by the pool and received pool service, had a drink at the pool bar, utilized the valet and the shuttle took us to and from dinner in Portsmouth. So awesome….all of it! And our suite had two full bathrooms that wonderfully suited for gals who travel like me with lots of “girl stuff’! We are looking at another getaway there soon!!
