As their tagline suggests, "Relax, Restore, Explore", this perfectly describes The Inn at Oxbow Acres. We decided on a last minute fall leaf peeping overnight and hoped to find still available accommodations at a B & B. We came across quiet, rural Oxbow Acres by chance and checked out their website. Their description of "clean and serene" is totally accurate as well as photos of horses, chickens, mountains, pastures- in a word, serenity. We arrived in the evening and were warmly welcomed by Innkeeper Maria, showing us to our bedroom and bath, "Cascade", while offering us cold waters, ice packs, and medication (for a sustained injury). Maria's proactive communication with us prior to and during our stay was perfect. The evening brought her text making sure we were good and offering the morning's breakfast menu from which we would choose. We relaxed and recovered from the day in the so comfy bed, pillows, and bed sheets which were so welcomed, leading to a great night's rest. The fog settled in overnight and morning brought beautiful scenery and hearty morning coffee with Maria's custom made breakfast for both of us. Beautiful horses, a flock of chickens (for all the fresh eggs), a donkey, two elusive cats, and the most playful and energetic pup, Echo, all invite you to wander and invest your time in the outdoors. Learning more about hosts Maria, Brian, and their family as being the relatively new owners of the property, we came to appreciate the incredible and never ending amount of work they've invested into developing Oxbow Acres. With their ongoing and continual improvements to their Inn, it clearly reflects this is their love, their life, and their passion. When you're in need for a calm, relaxing get away with good coffee and breakfast included, The Inn at Oxbow Acres beckons you. We suggest you book direct through their website, oxbowacresnh.com and save yourself some money! We set out to find a simple, last minute fall getaway - what we found was an ahhhmazing treat at Oxbow Acres!

What is great way to get away from all the stress and demands in one's life? A visit to the quaint, charming, friendly, and peaceful Inn at OxBow Acres. Many of the rooms have been nicely renovated with more to come. We stayed in the "Cascade" room and enjoyed looking out our windows at the horses and donkey every morning. The hosts were most hospitable and ery friendly. They knew the area well and gave great ideas for day trips. There are even nicely, groomed, private trails to explore on their property. Breakfasts were delicious especially the spinach/mushroom frittata and lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. One evening, due to a winter storm, they offered to make dinner so we wouldn't have to travel. During the storm we also had a wicked game of Blokus with the owner. OxBow Acres is definitely a perfect place to unplug and forget your worries. Can't wait to visit during another season.

Driving onto the property you immediately appreciate the stunning views of the mountains and the beauty of Milan- it is just between Errol and Berlin which are short drives where you can find local stores, gas stations, other amenities. But you likely won't need it! Maria and her husband were both welcoming, accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. They gave suggestions on what to do nearby and always made us feel welcome.
The breakfast in the morning is cooked by your host and is DELICIOUS. We love some of the local places for breakfast, but Maria's cooking absolutely topped them all. She even had homemade sourdough bread, fresh fruit, and ensured we had some juice and coffee to enjoy the meal with.
If you love animals and nature, you will thoroughly enjoy this property. We were welcomed by their adorable Keeshond Echo, and then enjoyed watching the horses. At night we could enjoy the songs of the local wildlife, but felt safe and apart from it at all times.
My partner wasn't feeling well when we first arrived and Maria was incredibly gracious. Gave us some chips and ginger ale to settle his stomach, checked on us in the morning. We were grateful and floored with the experience.

TLDR: If you love stunning views, genuinely friendly hospitality, and delicious homemade breakfasts as well as the thought of being near gorgeous horses and the White Mountains- don't hesitate. This is a location to come to be hosted and enjoy comfort in a rugged setting.

I booked a night at this lovely inn because I wanted to drive through my beloved (from growing up) White Mountains. My scenic drive was spoiled by pouring rain and low-lying clouds, so we didn't see a thing, but our stay at this Inn was worth the trip. Maria had prepared the most amazing cheese board (for a small fee) for us on our arrival, as we had discussed it beforehand and asked if they had anything to snack on. Their main gathering room is just so beautifully decorated and welcoming. Our room, "Carlo" is located on the first floor right off of the main room, and while it was fairly small, it was just so lovely and cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and our prepared-to-order breakfast the next morning was tasty and filling! Maria and Brian were extremely personable and warm, and I really want to go back. I think for more than one night I may opt for a different room for a bit more space (they all look beautiful) and a bit more away from the main activity of the Inn. I want to meet the horses and their other animals! I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're glad you could visit your wonderful White Mountains again, although we wish the weather would have been nicer for such a special trip. We hope you can come visit again soon and perhaps stay in Old Speck where it is much more spacious. We will have yummy dishes waiting for you!

Stayed 7/3/22. Peaceful and quaint with tasteful upgrades. What a lovely bnb! Maria and her husband(didn’t catch his name) were so warm and welcoming! Excellent hosts. They bought the inn a couple of years ago and have tastefully remodeled the entire place and working on additional upgrades.

Our room, The Carlos, was charming and cozy. We had a great night’s sleep on the comfy king size bed, with quality mattress and linens. The bath is small but has a beautiful tiled shower and other designer touches. Great water pressure and I am guessing, a continuous hot water heater.

Breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Maria is a fabulous cook! We had several options to choose from. The special order frittata was delicious and my husband’s fried over medium well eggs were cooked to perfection. You must try the baked oatmeal! It’s almost like a dessert.

We had a lovely evening on the new deck. The fireworks show was a fabulous bonus! Only wish we had arrived earlier to visit and enjoy the property more.

We stayed in the “Cascade” room which was adorable. Very comfortable bed and bedding. The large bathroom with jacuzzi tub was great. Everything was pristine. Our homemade breakfast was delicious and the classic traditional table setting was very nice. Coffee was available all day. Unlike some Inns, the pictures of this one are actually accurate. Looking ahead to a future visit, for sure.

We had planned to arrive at The Inn of Oxbow Acres for five o’clock how ever did not arrive until seven. Upon our arrival to the inn, we were greeted by Maria. She gave us the us the run down of the Inn and took our breakfast order. At the OxBow you a have choice of breakfast, I immediately knew I was going to like it here.
We were exhausted from our journey and went to our room. When I booked I opted for the Carlo, I was informed that the Carlo suite was the latest addition to their Inn. It was clean tidy and had ground floor access. We slept very well in the king bed. We awoke to views of the pasture, horses, the chicken house and its flock of fresh egg producers.
With the help of her chickens Maria prepared and served us an awesome breakfast.
We went out to meet the day more than well prepared to experience all the wonders and attractions that the are offered by the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
I was attracted to the Inn at OxBow Acres by the professionalness of their web page. The page accurately reflects the Inn and surrounding area. If you are planning a trip to the White Mountains and need a cozy warm bed, great breakfast and a gracious host I recommend the Inn at OxBow Acres.

The Inn at Oxbow Acres was my favorite B&B on a two week road trip through New England to see fall colors. The lodge and grounds are beautiful, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast options were delicious! Maria and Brian were extremely accommodating, provided great suggestions for day trips, and made us feel like family. I wish we didn't live so far away (northern California) so we could come back more often! If we are ever in that part of New Hampshire, we would definitely stay there again.

We came for a late summer visit. The inn is charming. Maria is an extremely friendly host. She let the kids feed the farm chickens and her horse, prepared a delicious breakfast, and provided helpful tips about the area (including watching a sunset from the fire tower at the nearby Milan State Park). The inn is cute, the beds comfortable, and the hospitality top notch. We’d happily stay here again.

We were unsure what to expect from the photos - thought it might be more of a rustic cabin-like feel (would be fine). But actually the inn had many nice finishing touches that reflected the owner’s desire to have an Inn that felt like home. Little touches like convenient shelves in the bathroom and end tables on both sides of the bed, and big comfortable pillows. Maria cooked a good breakfast and gave many options as to menu and times. The new owners have almost entirely rebuilt the structure, from painting to new floors and wood ceilings to much more and it looks brand new. Maria told us exactly where and when to see a moose on the road in the morning and she was right!
